The Mist division had its meeting hall in a building that was near Deus Ex to be considered part of it, yet far enough away to afford some sort of privacy. It also didn't hurt that a large portion of the area next to the building was dedicated to being a scrap yard where hunters dumped all sorts of scrap material and runes for disposal.
Whenever a meeting was called, Mist hunters were expected to sort out the seating themselves. There were a few serviceable and uncomfortable folding chairs scattered here and there, as well as a selection worn furniture Mist hunters had picked up from the side of the road while out on mission. There was even a pile of mattresses someone had lifted from a mattress truck, except the springs were poking through the top so it was a sort of "last resort" place to sit if other places were taken.
The current Mist lead, Faiza, had converted the actual physical meeting room into a garage. She was currently half in the open hood of a car she was painstakingly rebuilding and outfitting with runes right now. Her arms were covered in black soot all the way up to her elbows that no amount of soap or scrubbing could ever get clean.
"Ooookay!" Faiza announced in a muffled voice from inside the car, "Dorian can you hand me that screwdriver? The one with the red han- no wait. Waaait I need the blue one? Yeah, thanks!"
The lead disappeared with the tool and was silent. There was a loud clang followed by a series of pings and twangs before finally settling with a clunk. "Uuuh... Dorian?" She called out. "Can you start the meeting? I kinda need to give Thun' here some attention."

MIST DIVISION MEETING:
Welcome to the Mist division meeting. This is where all characters start for week 2! All you need to do here is RP/fulfill the a reaction post of your character attending the meeting and then you can get started on all the prp/solo/orps for week 2. We also ask if characters can come back to fill the division assessment (or do it ASAP), seen on the second post, which grants bonus rewards as part of the MAIN STORYLINE. Sometimes Hunters want funding/approval for additional division related projects You can post requests for these in this thread and quote the GMs of this thread. For example: I'd like extra money to reform an abandoned base in the Arctic.

gaia_crown[ DIVISION ASSESSMENT ] Each division also has a division assessment. This is part of your character's MAIN STORYLINE task for their Week 2 beginning. Simply do the task in this thread, and rp out as necessary. You can run prps/orps/solos outside of this thread too before OR after completing the assessment, definitely don't let it wall you from doing other things as well for your week 2 character!
gaia_crown[ ADDITIONAL IC INFO : All characters are currently located in the Mist meeting hall, the Gray Bear Chop Shop. It's basically a garage outfitted with runic tools and things.
This is a division meeting. For Mist, it's a place to get approval and funding for projects, ask questions, share ideas. For this AU it's also a place to collaborate with other players, plan RPs/missions/goals, or to get the attention of Faiza and/or Dorian (though it may or may not be recommended). This is a chance for you to introduce your character to others and establish some world building to help you on your way for this part of the event.
You may also want to consider finding a partner for the upcoming hunter evaluation, as it may be more entertaining to work through it with a friend than do it solo.
Ranks and what's expected of you in Mist Division
Trainee : sparring, grunt work primarily on the island, learning about the other Divisions and their roles on the island, emulating said other Divisions and their roles on the island, becoming a floater on your path of jack-of-all-trades master-of-none
Intermediate : defining what your character's strengths are and what their weaknesses are (ie my character's good at fighting/sun, but sucks at intel/death), working with other divisions to act as a fill-in as necessary, practice getting better at covering their weaknesses in order to excel as a special/solo operator
Full : expected to be able to fill in for any other division as needed, expected to be fully capable of flying solo and come back in one piece
Specialized : specialized and full are considered the same rank outside of the context of said specialization. Mist specializations come in a wide range, but usually means they can fill in for another division's hunter and there's no discernible difference (ie I'm so good with runic tech you might as well draw a trunk under my mist emblem and call it a tree). They can revolve around educating other hunters, leading teams, specific field scenarios, and whatever else you can come up with that makes sense as a part of Mist Division's work (a large budget will enable many large projects, but results are your only lifeline to further funding)

From the other side of the car, a screwdriver appeared in a dark blue gloved hand; it was exchanged a moment later for another screwdriver, this one the right color. This exchange was followed by a tall man wearing a vaguely irate expression on his pale face, long, blue-black hair pulled back into a wavy ponytail at the base of his neck. A few tendrils were loose around his face, but for the most part, he looked almost directly opposite of Faiza's unruly, sooty appearance. In fact, he looked entirely out of place - both in his old fashioned, Victorian age ruffles and waistcoat, as well as his otherwise pristine appearance. An black eyepatch ran over his left eye.
He looked - and sounded - a mixture of both tired and annoyed.
"Welcome to the Mist Division," he said. "My name is Dorian Skelisse, and I am the Division Assistant. Faiza here is the Division Leader, which means that she is the one to look for if you have questions about what it is you're supposed to be doing here."
He did not look like the sort of person who you were supposed to ask questions. Dorian was still frowning; it seemed like a permanently ingrained expression.
That way this thread can be kept clean for ORP purposes and not buried under rolls/solos.

Emily was there precisely five minutes early even if she did have to dress down for the occasion. The petite young woman practically vibrated as she waited for the meeting to begin. And for her leader to say, Yes, Emily, I will let you give me a bath and do my laundry, and scrub down this garage into something less grungy. Not that Miss Faiza was a dirty person or constantly exuding a sense of built-in filth, oh no! Definitely no that. Emily just liked things tidy, was all. Cleanliness was so very empowering!
She was, in all honesty, hoping more for something else today. The storms and flooding and gross little Life pests who treated the island like their own personal garbage lab had left her feeling...well, a little energetic.
Raising her hand, Emily asked Dreamboat Assistant Dorian, "Hello, sir! Will we be killing anything today? I've warmed up!"
At the very least, there should be a face or two that needed punching. In her head the mighty voice of DON DIABLOS called out in encouragement. IF THEY SAY NO, THEY WISH FOR YOU TO SEEK OUT YOUR OWN OPPORTUNITY TO HARM SOMETHING UNTIL IT STOPS MOVING AND SEND THEM TO ONE OF THE MANY HELLS THAT AWAIT!
Flushing with enthusiasm, Emily pumped one small fist in the air, shouting before anyone could answer, "Yes!!! We will send them to hell!"
Truly, she was so fortunate to have found such a majestic voice of positivity and friendship with her weapon. Many hunters thought their weapons were demons and monsters and ghosts, but Emily was pretty sure her weapon was a GOD who'd deigned to visit the mortal realm and guide sad, wayward children like she'd once been!
Zere walked slowly into the building as he lowered himself into a chair, and promptly laid his whip on the table, put his arms also on the table... and then put his head on his arms.
The boy was incredibly tired, but he was awake enough to answer any questions his way, despite looking like he'd fall asleep at any moment.
Zere may have wished he'd slept in, but he would come when needed, especially when it concerned important things.
It was just a shame he didn't have any coffee.

Becker wasn't sitting like he probably should have been. He was standing, glaring, spindly arms crossed over his skinny chest. These meetings were bunk, this place was crap, and he was only happy to be here when no one else was.
Even on his feet, his head barely cleared the tops of some of those in their seats.
"Seconded on the killing and the hell, sir." His faint accent made his words sound musical even when his intent was malicious. "Reports suggest we're long overdue for a poisoning." Maybe. He might have skimmed those reports, but either way, he really wanted to poison a horseman.

On time was late, as far as Jude was concerned -- and late was completely unacceptable. So it was with a faint sense of embarrassment, checking the time on his phone in the reflexive manner of the highly-anxious and a bit obsessive, that he crept into the room. His goal: to go unnoticed, to steal a seat and disappear deep into it, head down and failing to meet anyone's eyes. The reality: well, there were only a couple people here before him, really, which reflected badly on the division as a whole.
He cleared his throat as he sank down to sit, eyes flicking nervously around the room as the meeting actually begun. He tried to take in who was there already without drawing specific attention to himself. He'd have to get up and show whatever it was he could do during the assessment, but for now, he didn't need to look too long at anyone, could let his attention slide over them with a glossiness to his expression behind dark eyes.
If he'd had the balls to voice one concern, it would have been this: At ten in the morning, there should have been coffee on the table. There should have been donuts, too, but he understood the difficulty of managing that on a shoestring budget on a battered island in the middle of the tropical heat. The coffee, though, they could correct. Slowly, he pulled out his phone to send himself a reminder text; he'd talk to someone about it once it wouldn't cause a stir.

Pedro wished he had been able to save more of his things during the flood. He'd accumulated a fairly large number of runic-upgraded items over time and to know that they were all gone, well, it was a good thing he was used to the transient nature of life. Although he really, really should have been better prepared for a flood, given where he'd grown up before joining Deus Ex, one would have expected him to know better.
However, there was no use crying over spilled milk. He instead chose to look at the brighter side of things, even if it was really hard to see any at this specific moment he was still his usual cheerful self. How he managed to maintain this attitude despite the numerous times the Island (and occasionally some of the Islanders) had put him through the wringer could be attributed to his decidedly stubborn intent to be positive.
It was quite likely one of his most annoying traits. Possibly second to his constant desire to treat every single hunter (no matter their division) like someone he cared about and worried for, regardless whether his concern was warranted. But Pedro wasn't letting that stop him from coming into the meeting just so he could make sure the members of his division were doing alright, water-logged conditions notwithstanding.
Of those already present, Pedro made a beeline to sit himself down beside Zere. But rather than jostle the sleeping Mist, Pedro thought to let them continue dozing and pay attention on their behalf.

Raising his head, Zere smiled kindly at the Hunter that sat next to him, not quite asleep, but close.
Reaching into his jacket, he pulled out a package of pocky he'd hoarded and stowed away by accidental luck, opening one and taking one out to stick between his teeth and slowly gnaw on.
He then offered the package to Pedro, silently giving him permission to take a few, if he so wanted.

He is unusually tired all the time, and often found chewing on a food item of some sort, as well as carrying around a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book with some kind of terrible title. Who reads this rubbish?
His main weapon is a rather sizeable black whip.

Now mind you, Shik was not always a dramatic person. If anything, he liked to make fun of others who were. But when he wanted to make an entrance, then damn it it was gonna have some flair. And why not show up to the meeting with the sweet new motorcycle he had pulled from literal trash and reconstructed into a hot mama? Shik deserved it.
(Or DeVour was just starting to make him have a cinematic need to look cool.)
The motor softened to a purr as he approached, sunglasses on, Starbucks in one hand (grabbed on the way towards the portal back home), keys to his ride in the other once he cut it off. Naturally, he was a few minutes late. Maybe five.
"What are we, mindless executioners?" Shik said before taking a sip of his drink. "Poisoning? s**t, where's your sense of adventure, guys? Did the hurricane wipe that out too?" He looked to Dorian and Faiza for some support, although given the former's dour face, he probably wasn't going to get anything but a look.

Pedro gave Zere a warm smile before shaking his head. He was good with the sweets, thanks but he appreciates the offer all the same. He was about to ask if Zere (or any of the others present) if after the meeting he could fetch them some coffee when in came Shik.
He gave a hearty laugh at the sense of adventure comment before deciding to throw in his own two centavos, "What do you want to do then? Leave 'em somewhere bound in runic chains, face, wrists, and ankles slashed to ribbons with runic daggers, and if they're not Famine also cover them in honey for good measure?"
A beat, "Speaking of honey, I plan on doing a supply run after assessments. Anyone need me to pick up something for you, I can do that too. If that is allowed?" he asked, looking to their Division Leaders.

"I fully support you running some monster over with your new, shiny p***s while I watch from far away on a hill somewhere, if that chain suggestion wasn't good enough for you."
Becker might have been jealous of the Starbucks.
"I'd like some coffee," he muttered at Pedro.

The word "coffee" brought Jude's head up -- and for a moment, he made the mistake of looking at Becker, just enough to meet his eyes. A breath later he grimaced and looked away, eyes raking onto Pedro instead, the loudmouth who'd come roaring in.
"I second coffee." And then he hesitated, dreaming of an espresso machine. But that was probably too much.

Pedro made a note of who requested for coffee and figured he should probably get black coffee by default. Getting creamers and sugar wouldn't be a problem as those were usually included, and he continued to mull over what other things he should pick up along with the caffeinated beverages.
His weapon bond had been quiet all this time, which was beginning to worry Pedro because his weapon was usually a lot more talkative. But as he hadn't summoned his weapon, he figured he could let the tiyanak in his head stay dormant until he absolutely needed to wake them.
