➳ What are their powers if they have any?
- Flight – he can comfortably fly at hypersonic speeds, and can advance to high-hypersonic speeds.
Supernatural Condition (Advanced Level)
Semi-Immortality – he does not physically age past his prime.
Superhuman Strength – in the past, he has lifted well over 10,000 tons, with estimated capacities of over 15,000 in comparison.
Superhuman Speed – he can comfortably run at supersonic speeds and advance to hypersonic speeds, though he prefers flight.
Superhuman Reflexes – his reaction time correlates with the speeds he can travel, capable of retaining sufficient reflexes for hypersonic speeding conditions.
Superhuman Endurance – he does not require food or sleep, but chooses to do so.
Supernatural Senses – his five senses are all enhanced to ensure superb sensory abilities. He has mastered these senses to attain a sort of telescoping vision, as well as an ability to sort out sounds on a planetary scale. His sense of smells works similarly.
Superhuman Intelligence – his brain is highly-developed to process the vast amounts of information he collects regularly, from the complexity of his senses to the various superhuman systems of his body. He can retain information at a degree far superior to any average comparison, and can recall every memory.
Nigh Invulnerability – bordering Absolute Invulnerability, he is immune to almost all kinds of damage. For example, he can withstand multiple nuclear explosions at ground zero unscathed, with all visible damage largely being superficial.
Self-Sustenance – he doesn’t need to eat or sleep, nor does he tire.
Contaminant Immunity – he is immune to the harmful effects of contaminants.
Enhanced Lung Capacity – he can hold his breath for several hours, though he does need oxygen.
➳ What are their weaknesses?
- A mortal body knows many weaknesses; he is no exception, not from the strength of a rival (sufficient physical force) to the strength of the mind (telepathy).
➳ How do they act?
- In costume, he took on a larger-than-life personality, in a proud (but not cocky) outlook, speaking loud, radiating confidence and strength, exhibiting all his best qualities. His alter ego out of costume, at least in the public eye, he acted a little klutzy, a bit awkward slow, though he toned it down as he got older and the suspicion for his costumed persona died away. In his true personality, he’s kind, compassionate, protective, honesty, courageous, heroic, and loyal, representing a virtuous man to the fullest.
➳ What's their backstory?
- James “Jim” Isley is the secret identity of famous hero, Mr. Invincible, who is regarded time and time again as the greatest hero of all time. He was among the first superhumans to emerge after the experiment, and was therefore human before being exposed to the radiation which gave him his legendary powers. While many heroes endured a double identity, he spent more time in costume than not, and would have abandoned his normal identity altogether had it not been for his future wife (and later their daughter) whom was his anchor to a normal life.
Jim spent a good chunk of his life as a famous superhero, raising a standard for others to use their powers for the greater good of mankind, many years of his life protecting others and inspiring generation after generation from the sixties and beyond to follow in his example. He eventually “hung the cape”, however, choosing instead to be the family man he was needed more as than a superhero. His identity remained a secret, except for a small few, and he led a “normal” life as best he could, coaching for his daughter’s eventual college.
➳ Anything else we need to know?
- • His costume of the past. He still has it locked away in an old footlocker, never forgetting who he once was.
• To appear as old as his age would have him and better conceal his identity (especially given his lack of mask from his costumed days), he’s dyed his hair gray, worn clothes that hide his true physique, and deliberately acts weaker than he is (that of the average man his age). He makes a considerable effort to appear mundane.
