Bisera's bag was currently sitting on the shore of the beach. Along with it were his sandals, his shirt, and everything else that he wouldn't need for what he was up to at the moment. What he did have were some comfortable shorts and a bag that was tied to his waist while he was out in chest deep water. He'd occasionally dive under, hands digging around in the sand for clams, before surfacing again. Once he broke the surface he would tuck them into the bag, glance back to make sure his things were where they should be, and repeat.

He wanted pearl! Well, not only pearls but clams as well. He liked the taste of them when they were cooked over a fire so the collecting of the shellfish had two reasons behind it. After he bagged the two shellfish he found he lifted his hands up, making sure his hair was still tied in it's tight bun, before he went under again, back to catching clams by feel. It was a bit of a slow going process as he wasn't really the best when it came to swimming, but he was getting better. Slowly. Having grown in the mountains hadn't allowed him to really master such an art but since coming here it had become rather imperative to learn such a feat.

Luckily for Bisera he had a skill set that allowed him to make money, money that he'd used to pay a kind, older Matori woman to teach him when she had the time. It was win, win for them both as he had a need to learn and she had plenty of kids to feed. A bonus being that she was also teaching him which things were good to eat and how to cook them. Not something he'd worried about before as others had fed him in the past but now... now he kinda... wanted to try feeding Xarnith. A thought that made him flush just thinking it before he went under again to cool said blush.

Bisera gave a squeak of shock, his eyes going wide, whirling around to face the one that had been able to easily sneak up on him. It wasn't as though he was the most alert person in the world so even someone wading up to him wasn't something that he'd noticed. He set to work putting the clams he'd found into his pack before he said, "I don't mind digging for them by hand. It let's me practice my swimming. I feel that I am still sort of... flailing a bit... but I think I'm getting better at it."

Patting the bag at his side, checking how many of them he had, he said, "I am doing pretty well at finding the clams at least... though it would be wrong of me to say I found it myself. I was pointed in this direction by my swim teacher."

"Finding clams? Not really! I mean... it would probably be better if I could see under water but since I can't I sort of have to feel around for them instead." He explained, thinking that Xarnith was talking about something completely different. After a moment his dark eyes went a bit wide and he quickly said, "But you're not allowed to find them! I want to so that I can... ahhh... I want to... you know, cook for you..." The last bit was a bit muttered, as though it was embarrassing to say out loud.

Things between them were still a bit odd at times because of what was said in the past. Bisera wanted to figure out if what he felt was because he knew of Xarnith's feelings or not. Was he starting to look at the guard in a different manner because he felt that he had to or was it because his own heart was moving naturally toward him? It was hard to say but he wanted to figure it out! He felt that trying to cook for Xarnith would be a step in that direction.

Crossing his arms over his chest, attempting to look as stern as possible he said, "You can... can watch and hang out with me but... but no helping!"

Bisera gave a little sigh of relief, "Good." He didn't want Xarnith's help as far as getting the clams went but he was alright with the idea of him helping out when it came to fending off any hungry beasts. Dealing with them was definitely not something that he was good at himself since he was as far from being a warrior as one could possibly be. After starring at Xarnith to make sure that he was being honest in that he wasn't going to help be went back under the water once more so he could continue to work.

It took a few more dives and an unknown amount of time later and Bisera was finally emerging from the water. He made it a few steps out before he gave a squeak and collapsed in the sand, "Oh... geez! My legs feel a bit weak and this bag is a lot heavier out of the water." He muttered to himself, looking toward Xarnith for a moment, then held his hands out to him, "A bit of help, please?"

Bisera gave a little squeak as he was scooped up easily along with the heavy pack of clams he'd been carrying, "Thank you! I think that maybe I was in the water for a little too long. It left me a bit on the water logged side." It was likely a good thing that he'd been here with him or else he'd of had to crawl over to where he was planning on cooking the clams and that would have just been a sad sight to behold for anyone. Not to mention if something big and hungry showed up.

Shaking his head he looked up at Xarnith and nodded, "Alright, though I do need to start popping the clams open so that I can look for pearls before I get to cooking them." He found himself placed on the blanket and he set to motioned to his pack, "I will need the little bags in there that hold my pearl collection too so I can sort the ones I find in the..." He trailed off, blinked, then sighed, "Sorry, sorry! I wanted to do this on my own and I am already asking for help."

He shook his head, "I will do it once I get used to being back on land. You can sit and relax, Xarnith."

Bisera gave a bit of a shake of his head as he dug into his pack, getting out the small bags that held his pearls in them. He set them in front of himself before he got out a knife used to pry open the clams in a careful manner so he could check them for pearls.

"What else? Oh! Well, I found this really giant lobster! I have him staked out on a makeshift rope leash in the water so that he wouldn't dry out and die. I will fetch him once I've gotten the clams dealt with and the fire started." He said, giving a smile as he worked, "I also got some various sea plants that I was told were tasty. I think all of that will be good for a start? Though after I do more practice I will try to cook more stuff for you as well."

Looking up at Xarnith he held up a pearl and said, "Ohhh... look, this one is pink!"

Bisera starred for a moment at Xarnith who had gone quiet before he shrugged and went back to what he was doing. Maybe he wasn't as interested in strange things like the pink pearl as Bisera was? He put the pearl into the little pouch that held pearls that weren't white or black, wanting to keep the special colors separate, before he was back to work again. A lot of clams and a small amount of pearls later and he was done with his work. Giving a smile tucked everything back into his pack before climbing to his feet.

"Alright, I need to start a fire now so that I can get the clams and other stuff cooking." He said to Xarnith before he moved to do just that. He had set up a small fire pit complete with a good sized cook pot hanging over it that he'd traded for recently. He'd filled it with water earlier and now all he had to do was get the fire going. As he worked on that tedious task he asked, "Can you go get the lobster? It's right... there!" He pointed to where a stick was stuck into the beach, held in place with some rocks. That was where he tied the creature so it would be easy to find it later when he needed it.

Turning to look at Xarnith he said, "But please, be careful! He has big, snappy claws, and I don't want you to get pinched by him." The last thing he wanted was for Xarnith to get hurt by a task that he'd given to him after all.

Bisera gave a squeak of delight, "I did it! I started the fire!" He said, sounding quite surprised and delighted over the fact that he was able to actually do it. He hadn't expected that he'd would actually get it started so quickly since in the past it was quite a pain in the backside to do. Getting the fire started easily meant that he was actually getting more and more useful! That was something he really wanted to do while he was actually of a mind to do so. He knew that he spaced off when he went to work but during the times when he was really focused he wanted to be useful to Xarnith.

Turning to look at Xarn who seemed to have wrangled the 'monster' lobster pretty easily he gave a smile, "Not quite yet. Let me get the lid ready and once the water starts to boil we toss the lobster in and I will put the lid on after. We just have to be ready for that, alright?"
