The maritime metropolis is located in the south of the island Vylbrand that Aldenard precedes in the west, the Gulf of Rhotano. Their patron deity is Llymlaen, the aerodrome controller, the goddess of seafarers."

La'ella Tia Slave of Costa del Sol
La'ella was bringing her master some drink that he ordered from the nearby bar as he was now sitting in his favorite spot. She kept her head down and delivered his drink to him, which he thanked her and sent her off. She bowed and walked away. Some of the other Miqo'te females looked at one another worried for her as the time grew near for her daily beating for their employer's enjoyment. One of them walked over to La'ella and told her to try and make a run for it today. They would distract the Lalafell and the Roegadyn to give her a chance. La'ella ignored them but the thought was there. She went back to her little area that she was given to tend to while she waited for her orders. Could she do it? Could she make it far enough away before they realize?

Shaline opened her eyes as she felt the heat of the sun on her ears. She smiled up to Artemis and glad it worked. Maybe she could teach him the teleportation magicks. But she couldn't wait to see his reaction to the sight of how blue and clear the water was here."Welcome to Costa del Sol."Shaline's ears and tail shook happily as she released one of his hands to motion towards the resort.

Artemis wasn't sure what to think about teleporting, but he smiled upon seeing the water. "It's beautiful. This is definitely better than my last Costa del Sol visit. I'm glad to be here with you." Sighing, he looked at his reflection in the water. 'I'll never get the thought of Shadira out of my mind. That witch took so much from me. How could I forget?'

Shaline's smile faded when he sighed."Thinking about the witch?"Shaline got an idea and pulled Artemis along to the highest pier and looked out."I usually come here when I need a break. No one thinks to look at the highest pier, yet it has the most beautiful view in the entire resort."She smiled."Plus I find it helpful to clear my head up here."She let go of his hand sat down on the edge and let her legs hang over the side. Something about the water way down below her and her leg swinging free in the air that was calming to her. She patted the decking beside her in hopes that he would join her. She enjoyed spending time with Artemis. Her tail slightly moved with content.

Artemis took in every detail of the area as they made their way to the pier. He sat down beside Shaline and stared out across the water. "I can't help it Shaline. That witch took so much from me. And I will never be able to get that out of my head. So much has happened to me over the years. It's not easy to move on from that sort of thing. If you knew me back then, you wouldn't be this comfortable."

He was right. She knew her father still hadn't moved on from her mother's death, many years ago. But what he did get wrong is how comfortable she would be."In my many travels, I have met people of all types, some being lower than dirt when it comes to their personalities or loyalties. And if I was still Shaline de Fortemps, Daughter of Ishgard, then maybe. But in my travels, I was Shaline Lawrence, Adventurer. You learn to deal with all sorts of people. But what is now, is now. You are who you are by setting down the path you did. So, there may have been bumps in the road, but it made you who you are now."Shaline was about to say something else when there were some shouts from a lower pier. Shaline's ears perked and started listening. "Get her back", "Go after her" were some of the phrases used. She then stood up and watched what was going on. Her eyes trained on the commotion happening. She spotted someone running with about 5 men after them, presumably the girl they were referring to in their shouts."Well...this isn't good. I don't know what she has done, but she appears to not have stolen anything."Her ears turned towards some talking on one level down from them. "She was almost able to make it free" is what she gathered."I think that girl is in trouble."She pulled out a whistle and blew into it. Fenrir appeared."Fenrir, bring Artemis to where I am headed. I'm going on ahead."Fenrir nodded and looked over to Artemis. Shaline knew he wouldn't be able to keep up as she ran and jumped right off the tallest pier transforming, in mid air, to her ninja, landing on her feet, and started running after the group of men, blades drawn.

La'ella was waiting for the signal from one of the women. She had relinquished her grudge long enough for them to help her. When she got the signal, she started to quietly slip away. She had just made it part ways when she heard shouting. They had failed. She took off running, only to glance back to see that she was being followed. But she knew that her legs couldn't keep her ahead for long. She had gotten to a stone arch way before one of the men grabbed her. She knew what was coming next, a beating. The men started to kick her around, as her cries were lost to the grunts of the men.

Artemis looked to the girl being chased and quickly climbed on Fenrir. "We can definitely call this a first. Let's get going Fenrir. That girl is deep trouble by the looks of it." He watched Shaline take off and smiled a little. It was the first time he had seen a transformation like Shaline's.

Shaline saw the men catch the girl and start kicking her before she flipped over them and used her Aeolian Edge to knock all the men back."I have no idea what she did, but I am not going to sit by and watch you abuse her like this."Shaline was in a crouched position, putting herself between the girl and the men. She looked to the men and put her blades back on her hips. "We'll tell Master Storming Rock about this!" one of them shouted as the others ran back towards the piers."Good and tell him to come deal with me personally."She turned and got a good look at the girl now. A young Miqo'te female. Had to be no older than 16. That made her even more furious. She was probably a slave to one of the business Lalafell here. She knelt down beside her and transformed back to her White Mage and hovered her hand over which started glowing green with healing powers."Don't worry. You are safe now. What is your name child?"She was surprised when the girl hugged her and let her cry."La'ella, you are no longer in danger and I will do what I can to get you away from this Storming Rock."She looked over and saw a group coming over."Artemis, can I count on you to keep her safe in case something were to go down?"Shaline looked over to Artemis and walked over with the girl still clinging onto her.

La'ella was trying to keep her cries in when she soon felt no more kicking. She looked up to see another Miqo'te female standing there, protecting her. Why would she do that? She even spoke back to the men that was under the Roegadyn that beat her all the time. She feared for her safety too, but was surprised when she changed clothes in an instant. She had heard that adventurers could do that with just a thought. She watched as the woman knelt beside her and a man came riding up on a monster. But the woman told her that she was safe. Tears filled her eyes and she clung to the woman, crying."La'ella."She finally got out after a moment of crying. She then saw there were more men with the Roegadyn and her employer as they were headed back.

Artemis watched Shaline in action, becoming more intrigued by everything. He had no idea what to expect when it came to her abilities. It wasn't like he could transform like that. Transforming was never something he was interested in. "That was amazing Shaline." Artemis had always focused more on marksmanship than anything else. His pistol was his main weapon and he wanted to make sure his abilities were top notch. Looking to the young Miqo'te, he smiled. "No problem."

Shaline smiled to the girl."You have nothing to fear with Artemis. But I need you to stay with him while I get your freedom."La'ella nodded and went over to Artemis, hiding behind and clinging to him. Shaline's ears perked as the Lalafell spoke up. "Ah, you found my dear sweet servant girl. I am sorry for the trouble that she caused the both of you. I'll take her back home now and you can continue to enjoy your honeymoon or vacation." But he struck a nerve in Shaline. She spun around and her voice got protective."Servant? SERVANT? I have servants and they are treated better than this. If she was your servant then why is she running away? No. A servant enjoys their work for their master and aren't wanting to run away. No. This girl is your slave and I will not stand for this."Her gaze turned to ice as the Lalafell reacted. "Regardless, she is mine. Storming Rock, get her." The Roegadyn walked over and reached out his hand to take La'ella when Shaline grabbed it and stopped him mid stride."Touch the girl and I will make sure you regret messing with me."Her voice was ice. The Roe backed off and looked to the Lala with a look of "I ain't messing with her. You deal with it on your own." to his face. The Lala growled. "I'll get the Maelstrom here if you don't hand over my property!" And with that, Shaline laughed."Go ahead and call them. Won't do you much good."She walked over and looked down to the Lala."They wouldn't dare go against me."Must have been the way she said it or the fact that she towered over the Lala that made him take a few steps back. "You can't be serious. You are disturbing my peace. They would destroy you." But Shaline smiled a gentle smile."Then you don't know who I am. I am Shaline de Fortemps. White Mage of Light. Need I say more."With that, the Lala looked surprised. "L-Lady Shaline, I-I-I didn't know it was you. Th-The girl is yours, m'lady." He looked around and noticed his men were already half way back to their pier when he took off running. Once the Lala was out of earshot, Shaline took a huge sigh and slumped her shoulders a bit in relief.

Artemis remained close to La'ella as Shaline dealt with the so-called master. 'Shaline has great influence here.' He turned his attention to La'ella and smiled. "Are you alright?" Artemis had no way of knowing how things worked in this world, but he wasn't about to stand by and let someone get hurt. 'I never thought that coming here would be like this.'
La'ella watched as the woman took care of her master. Not only that, she was one of the famous Warriors of Light. She looked to Artemis and nodded."Yes. Th-thank you."When Shaline returned over to them, she came out from behind Artemis."I never....thought I would...meet a Warrior of Light here....Th-thank you.La'ella started to tear up again and threw herself into Shaline who clung to her and cried. It was always what she wanted. Another Miqo'te female to look up to."Please, let me live with you. I don't want to be here in Eorzea anymore. I'm....I'm all alone."When Shaline suggested living her her family's home and that she would come visit, it wasn't enough. She had been pushing people away for so long, she wanted the attention."Please let me live with you."

Shaline stood back up and walked over to Artemis and La'ella."Sorry you had to see that Artemis."Shaline was surprised when La'ella threw herself into her. She felt sorry for the girl. She wrapped her arms around her."Well I guess the Miqo'te is out of the bag. I'm actually part of the group called the Warriors of Light. I'm the White Mage of Light to be exact. We are well known across Eorzea. Our names are synonymous with Royalty."She stroked La'ella's head."Now now. You can return to your family now. I am sure they want to know you are alive."But she was taken aback by La'ella's words."Then why don't you come live in my family's manor. I am sure my father would like to have another child around to keep him on his toes. And I'll come visit you on times I am not busy with the school."But La'ella's words struck her deep. She didn't know how to care for a child, let alone, her house wasn't really set to accommodate another dweller. She thought about it."Ok. But you will have to stay at my father's house while I ready you a room. Give me a week. Ok?"Shaline smiled when La'ella gave a smile."Come on. I am sure I can convince Fenrir to let three people ride him back to Ishgard."Shaline looked over as they got a happy yip."Well, Artemis, mind if we cut this trip to the Beach a little short?"

Artemis smiled and shook his head a little. "No need to apologize Shaline. I would have done the same thing." He listened to Shaline and La'ella's conversation and looked down a little. "Perhaps I have a better idea. If you like La'ella, you can stay with me. What do you think Shaline? My place is a lot closer."
La'ella was a little sad when Shaline was going to be leaving her with her father, but when Mr. Artemis spoke up, her ears perked."I can stay with you? But....don't you both live together?"La'ella noticed Shaline's face turn red. Maybe she was wrong."Oh....ok. As long as it means I can be close, I am ok with that."La'ella smiled and started to study Artemis."Mr. Artemis, what are you? Are you an Elezen?"Shaline's laugh confused her.

She continued to stammer over her words, but she finally spoke up."No....but he lives near me.....I think."Shaline looked over to Artemis. She couldn't be with him...not after what he had been through. He probably was scarred by that witch. But Shaline couldn't help but laugh at La'ella's question."No my dear. Artemis is just a very tall Hyur. Or as he would say, a very tall human."
