The Black Shroud is made up of 4 areas. Central, North, South, and East. The West Shroud was destroyed during the Calamity of Cartenau when the Dreadwyrm Bahamut went on a rampage. You can see the destroyed lands from the northern part of the North Shroud. Each area has some areas of interest. There are some main settlements that has an Aetheryte that has been marked with an (a).

- North Shroud - Hyrstmill
North Shroud and Central Shroud connect directly to Gridania. From the East Shroud you can access the Sanctum of the Twelve.
