What called to the dark mirrors was something they were not accusomted too. Darkness and Chaos was usually warm and welcoming, and the mirrorspace that was their second home was often that...a home. Today it felt twisted and cold, uninviting. It thundered, and shook as each Dark mirror returned to it, and above their heads, instead of the hallways and mansion-esque feel, it was a roaring sky of black fog like the park. Small flashes of even darker chaos rumbled within the puffs of darkness. Small wraith like creatures, normally who never showed themselves to the dark mirrors now fled the area, ghosting past most of them.

There was a path though, for each group of dark mirrors and as they moved down it, they would find themselves at the tall walls of what looked like a maze. Etched with gold platings to each entrance (north, south, west and east) were what looked like the very wraiths that had been released into Destiny city. The text under them was old, foreign and nothing any of the senshi would understand. Instead, it could be assumed that the Labyrinth had been here a long time, deep in the mirrorspace.

The labyrinth shakes, it’s walls shifting before settling down again. There is a brief glimpse of Mintaka, who is struggling to hold the box that had released the wraiths within her hands, her arms are completely black and the chaos is spreading to her neck. She makes eye contact with you and there is a small jolt. For those who know her, she doesn’t not have the gentle eyes that she would greet others with, but wild and scared. For those who don’t, she looks much like those they faced in the park, full engrossed in their madness. The glimpse of her disappears though, and for some it seemed almost like an illusion.

Dark fog spills from the labyrinth, beckoning those who wish to enter it.

gaia_nitemareleft Welcome to the Ancient Labyrinth: gaia_nitemareright

Mintaka is currently in the middle of the labyrinth, holding back what is left of Pandora’s Box. For those that are holding the shards of the powerful Youma’s, they feel trepidition, down to their bones. The box calls to the shards, and they quiver in your hands. They do not wish to return, but they must.

The mechanics for this event are going to be a mix of CYOA and Dice. Madness is still a thing in here, but it has been reset to 0/100 madness. Hp will also factor here, but Attack dice will not~ So for a friendly reminder:

Quote:
Hp Values:

First Stagers/Guardian Cats: 50/50HP
Second Stagers/Senshi Cats: 60/60HP
Third Stagers: 70/70HP
Fourth stagers: 80/80HP

Madness meter: 0/100

Character HP: HP/HP
Madness Meter: 0/100
Step Counter: 0/100

The idea of the labyrinth is to get to the middle, where Mintaka is. However, it is not easy and will require navigation through the treachorous landmarks and traps. Everyone will roll a 20 sided dice, and the amount will be the amount of steps you take through the maze. The goal is 100 steps. However it is a maze, and what is a maze without some traps?

Quote:

gaia_star 1-20 Steps:
If you roll a even dice (2,4, ect. ect.) You find yourself at a dead end and must turn around. Each dead end has a small plaque with a picture of /something/ but its faded and damaged and unable to read. There is etchings of text, but it is a language far more ancient then any of the dark mirrors have seen.

If you roll a odd dice (3,5,ect. ect.) your character can hear faint voices echoing from inside the labyrinth. You have come to a three way part in your trek, and must choose a path. (Choose from Spoiler tags, but only choose one!)

Left Path:

The left path is short and opens to a small oval area. There are benches, made of gold iron like post with twisting metals and designs. A mirror sits above each bench and is decorated in a text. The words faintly read, “We shall rise.”. If you touch the mirrors, they surface fogs and then shapes into shapes, though they are hard to make out. You are watching a scene unfold, but the scene is vague, and depicts some sort of ancient like battle. It fades quickly and them mirrors do not show anything again. (+5 Madness)

Right Path:
The right path is long, and there is a faint song that echoes through its hallway. Out of the corner of your eye, you see a shadow, a wisp move and when you turn to look, it is gone. A cold chill rises over you, so you move more quickly. (+5 steps to your total)

Straight Path:
The straight path is a trap. It triggers a shift in the maze, sending you back to the entrance. (Your steps are now 0/100 and +5 Madness) (HOWEVER, If you have a Chaos Cat with you, The chaos cat will sense something admist with the path. They will find a tripping mechanism and decode/deactivate it moving you safely through the path. +10 steps)

gaia_star Steps 30-40: If you roll a 2, 10, 12 or 20 your character will now find themselves at a two path break. Please follow the spoiler prompts below and choose one:

Right path:
A dead end, you must turn around. (+5 madness)

Left Path:
You have found a room, decorated much like the mirrorspace that all the dark mirrors know. Furniture is nice and neatly placed, and covered with small thin like sheets. There is a brush on a vanity stand, a empty perfume bottle, a bed that is neatly made. If you place your hand on any of it, a small puff of dust rises. There is a book resting on the pillows, and if you open it, it shows nothing but the weird text that is placed around the whole labyrinth. The room groans. Quote Pixie Nyxie for a special prompt.

gaia_star Steps 40-60: If you roll a 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 Your character accidentally triggers a trap. (Quote Pixie Nyxie). If you are a chaos cat, you deactivate the trap but suffer a peanlty of -10 madness)

For all other rolls, You make it through this trek and continue onwards.

gaia_star Steps 61-80:

If you roll a 11-20: your character has triggered a trap (Quote Pixie Nyxie)

If you roll a 1-10: Your character will find themselves in a path made solely now of mirrors. If they touch the mirrors, they ripple to life and create a mirror image of you. The mirror you follows you, but at a slower pace, one mirror behind you. You lose the reflection of yourself. You lose a piece of yourself. You may try to gain your reflection back, but it will never be in your grasp. (+5 madness)

gaia_star Steps 80-100:

There is a locked door at step 90 and this is where all paths meet. In order to finish, both shards must be present. The door has etchings of wraiths all over it, circling around one single box. The walls around it have similar etchings, depeciting a story. You can see Dark mirrors, or what is assumed to be ancient dark mirrors battling against four large wraiths, and as your trail down the wall, it tells of their battle to contain the monsters. At the end, there is a large box item, that glows.

(You may explore these paths, Quote Pixie Nyxie with Bold Red text of anything you are touching, You may trigger a special event.)

Quote:
gaia_nitemareleft Madness Penalities: gaia_nitemareright

gaia_star 1-10: Nothing, Small whispers that mean nothing.

gaia_star 11-30: Doubts, easier to question yourself, The path seems daunting.

gaia_star 31-60: Chaos is now sickening you, and you feel week. You lose 1 hp for every dice roll you take.

gaia_star 61-90: The labyrinth twist and turn, and you feel like you are in a endless loop. If you are with others, you question their methods of travelling in here, you are aggressive, easy to anger. If you wish to attack, you must roll a 1d10 and quote your target.

gaia_star 91-100: Black inky darkness consumes you, and you experience a never ending nightmare until you are cleansed of madness.

Acubens slipped through the nearest mirror like she was sliding through a veil of mist. That, however, was where mirrorspace stopped being what she knew. Instantly, Acubens was met with a storm of sound, bone shattering blasts which shook her to her very core. She drew her arms up around her to try and snuff out the chill that rocketed through her body, but to no avail. It was like being caught out in cold rain, and there was no escaping the freeze. She looked up at the cieling, before misty and almost effervescent with it's ever changing face and moods but now... now it scowled down at Acubens, horrible faces twisted into the black clouds of madness overhead. She swallowed hard, pushing back the visions that the madness had shown her. They were tricks. They had to be. But tricks though they were, could Acubens handle another show like before?

She didn't answer herself, knowing what would happen to her if she traveled down that path again. Instead, she pressed on, fuku whipping around her like it had a mind of its own. They had been called here for a reason. And she intended to find out what that reason was.

When she arrived at the center, Acubens inspected the gold plates near each of the doors. So this was where they had come from. This was the to which place they needed to return the shard. She looked down the dark hallway, slowly becoming accustomed to the constant hiss and roar of the storm above her, and gasped. There was someone down there... but who? Acubens called out, but her voice was swallowed by the torrent overhead. Instead, she was met with a face drunk on the madness that consumed too many on the battlefield before. It made Acubens recoil. So this was the place... and that was the person who had released them.

Well then. Only one thing to do then.

She looked around for Kiuchi and held out her hand, gesturing towards the North Entrance

Prince Remarque - North Entrance

Quote:
Character HP: 80/80
Madness Meter: 0/100

Remarque wasn’t sure if he was glad to be away from the warehouse given that now he was in Mirrorspace, and as usual something was wrong. He tried to keep a straight face, if not for his own appearance then for the other Dark Mirror Senshi. He had never seen Mirrorspace like this before—not once, in all the hours he’d spent trying to learn something about it.

He had the distinct impression that whatever they were going to learn tonight wasn’t going to be good.

If he was worried, he didn’t show it though; he rolled his shoulders and moved through the area, scanning everything that he could. Things in Mirrorspace were quick to change; if there were any secrets hidden away, he wasn’t going to waste the opportunity to cement them into his brain now.

For a split second, he thought he saw Mintaka. Now, he trusted his mind—just a bit more. It made the message from the compact seem to mean more, now that he felt like he was in his right mind. Still, a darkness clung to him, raging quietly in the pit of his stomach. The Dark Mirror Court was perpetually lacking in numbers, and he found that most of his time with the Court was spent with Basic or Super Senshi.

When he arrived, he already felt the energy signature of another Dark Mirror Senshi—Acubens, and next to her Kiuchu.

He blinked, head tilting just slightly as he approached. “Kiuchi, Acubens,” he greeted, though he didn’t sound particularly jovial. “What are you doing here?”

A common question for her, it seemed, whenever he found her in Mirrorspace.

Goin' my way handsome emotion_zombie

The energy signal of a Prince sent rockets of electricity through Acubens, warming her despite the cold of mirrorspace. She turned and forced a smile through the cuts, bruises, and swollen eye.

"Remarque," she squawked, her voice abused and cracking from her recent misadventures. "Just thought I'd, you know... come for a stroll. I see Tim Burton redecorated the place." The joke fell flat, just like her smile. Her face hurt too much to smile any longer. God, she just wanted to curl up and go to sleep. It wasn't too late. She could turn around. She could find a mirror that would lead her back to her apartment. She could check on her seedlings, water what needed to be watered, clean up her tender, swollen, broken face and go to bed forever. She didn't have to do this...

But she did. She did because she had betrayed the only person she ever loved more than herself and left him alone in the world for this court. And she'd be damned if she gave up on it now. So she steeled her face and wiped away what might have been a tear but was probably blood and straightened her back.

"I'm going North... to find whoever is at the center of this mess. What about you?"

Hydrus did not want to think about what had gone on while fighting the wraith. He did not want to think about what he'd done, what he'd become, but the scars of such blatantly marred the pale skin of his arms. Black burns covered his forearms, spreading from his blackened hands. They did not hurt, not like he expected them to, but the skin was tender and taut over his knuckles. The cloth rubbed against the burns and chafted something fierce.

Yet, he would not dwell on it, on how he'd let himself fall to madness, how he'd wanted to fall to it. How he drowned in, and succumbed to it. Not when he finally had his sanity back. When he was himself again. Rather, Hydrus stood next to Remarque, a small overly excited chaos kitten in his arms, and looked around.

He had someone to find.

"I've not traveled much of Mirrorspace, but did you know this existed, Remarque?" he asked, glancing over at the prince for a moment. The north entrance was covered, and the cat in his arms - Haymitch, was it? - kept squirming for the East Entrance.

Oh boy, oh boy, this was exciting! He didn't know this was what he was going to walk into, on his journey around the floral park, but this was exciting! There had been all this ooze, and fog, and a general feeling of 'bad', and then all these senshi and agents were screaming and fighting each other and two really big wraiths helped to feed the chaos! No pun intended.

In truth, it scared Haymitch out of his little round hat, but he wasn't going to let anyone know that this whole thing, this Mirrorspace the kind man holding him called it, scared him. He was a big kitten, almost full grown, and he would not be caught with his tail between his legs.

He squirmed in Hydrus' arms, hat flopping over one ear, and pointed a paw at the East Entrance.

"There! There, go there!" He squirmed again, barely catching his hat with a paw and putting it back on his head.

He'd only been to mirror space once, with Remarque, but he didn't remember it being like this. This was dark and foreboding, loud, and like a raging storm...and not in a good way. He liked the fall asleep to storms, though he liked to fall asleep in general, but this wasn't a storm he'd find peaceful enough to fall asleep to. This was thunderous and uncomfortable...it had him expecting bad things to happen.

Walking slowly, glancing up above every so often, he let his arms move to wrap about himself as if they might fight off some of the cold. As shook and it darker spots of darkness could be seen in the darkness above he felt himself shuddering as they came to what seemed to be a fork in the path, of sorts. With four options he stood there staring and looking around, trying to figure out where to go.

He too saw the rather...crazed looking female who seemed in need of help, perhaps. He didn't understand and didn't have a clue who she was either...but something was off.

Shaking his head his focus turned to Remarque. "Followed Acubens here." Though he was drifting away from the two and headed towards the east on his own. His feet seeming to have a mind of there own at the moment.

It seemed he wasn't going to be the only one headed in the direction he was going either...and he wasn't sure how he felt about it, especially when the cat seemed rather loud and energetic.

Princess Leto - East Enterance

Quote:
Character HP: 80/80 HP
Madness Meter: 0/100
Step Counter: 0/100

Leto desperately wanted nothing more in the entire world than to go home. To sit in her tub and let the stream of her shower beat hot water down onto her to cleanse her of this awful ******** nightmare. But when she felt the pull to MirrorSpace... Well, she had a duty to her Court and she would never turn her back on that, no matter how shitty she felt.

She pulled Damocles' jacket tighter around herself, trying to fight off the chill that ravaged her bones as she walked through the mirror and stopped in MirrorSpace, drawn to a strange, new area. The Dark Mirror Princess spent more time in MirrorSpace than she would like to admit, and she had never ever seen it like this. Red eyes traveled upwards and recoiled when she saw the dark, swirling black fog overhead. She caught glimpses of wraiths flitting in and out of the darkness and fleeing the area. Her bare feet carried her foreward, blood from her wings dripping onto the marble-esque floors, fingertips gently caressing the gold plating at one of the entrances.

Her eyes refused to meet those of the other Dark Mirrors that were beginning to gather- there was no way she could face them after what she had done. She could feel Remarque, and an Eternal she presumed to be Acubens by the sound of her voice; and every single time another Senshi stepped through a mirror and the thunder shook MirrorSpace, Leto winced.

But it was when the Labyrinth shifted that Leto was truly afraid again- catching a glimpse of Mintaka, their eyes meeting, it was clear that she was engulfed in the same madness that Leto was earlier and that... That absolutely petrified her. The brunette tried desperately to catch her breath, not even realizing that she was holding it, and everything hurt.

She had to get out of there.

She couldn't do that again.

Dark fog began to spill into the Labyrinth and it had Leto turning and walking back towards the mirror she came out of. The palm of her hand pressed against the cool glass, the feel of it calming her and bringing her back to reality. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and steeled herself before finally opening her eyes and silently slipping past the group that was growing and moved to the East Entrance.

The only thing that mattered right now was finding Mintaka and getting her out of there.

The feeling of another royal slammed through Acubens like a train. Leto. She swung around suddenly, searching the growing sea of faces for her friend. Was she alright? Acubens hadn't been in the grip of madness for very long, but she knew the shame of it. And she knew how that shame of any kind could rot a person from the inside out. Leto, in her book, was not allowed to be ashamed. Throwing elbows and shoving maybe a little too hard, Acubens made her way to Leto, admittedly unsure of what she would do when she got there. Leto may not react well to a full body slam of a hug at that moment. So instead she reached out with a shaking hand and tried her best to smile through her bruises.

"Hey there Camo Mom," she muttered, dipped her head to find Leto's eyes. "Before things get too heavy... I have someone that I want you to meet."

She reached out to Kiuchi who was currently edging away from her. She swallowed the burgeoning understanding of who had given him those marks across the face because she had to be strong for Leto and for him.

"This is Kiuchi. I have adopted him so I guess that makes him your... snek grandbaby. I haven't known him long but... for some reason, he means the world to me and I think that I hurt him. I can't remember but... take care of him? I think he's going your way." She paused for another long moment, staring at the woman she loved, the woman she counted as one of her sisters. The woman who brought her home. She didn't deserve defeat. She didn't deserve any of this.

"I'm proud of you, Leto." She said finally. "I'm proud to call you my Princess, but more importantly I'm proud to call you my family. Because you're here. You didn't give up. That kind of madness... it sends lesser people screaming. You didn't run. So I'm proud of you. I love you, Leto."

Morpheus

"Oh s**t."

Morpheus stared stunned at the vast expanse of mirrorspace, ever shifting in its sinister presentation. Walls slid past one another with ease, never stalling, never stopping, as whole paths sprang up or winked out of existence. Not terribly far from where he stood, he caught a glimpse of the very Mirror Senshi who chose to awaken him - Mintaka - and she looked petrified.

"Oh s**t," he echoed, with more emphasis. "I ain't no damn hero..." Morpheus felt his own gut clench with fear at the prospect of getting his a** lost in a maze. He never liked labyrinths, and he always thought the story of the minotaur in the labyrinth was more like a nightmare for how the minotaur got stuck there, and here Mintaka suffered that same fate. They hadn't spoken since his initial corruption into their faction, but he still felt a sense of debt owed to her. Or maybe it was some kinda familial thing. Morpheus wasn't sure, and he wasn't about to stop and think about it either.

Instead, he made a beeline for the entrance nearest him and dove in without giving himself time to second-guess the decision. He was gonna charge headlong through this s**t and if he took a break to think about where he was going, then he might as well just freeze up in fear.

To hell with this s**t, he chanted in his own mind as a new mantra.

Sailor Izu - South Entrance, moving to West Entrance (GM move)

To put it mildly, Izu had no idea what he was doing.

He'd been doing homework. He'd been properly going about his scholarly duties (thanks, in part, to the attentions of his older brother, who had hovered over him consistently until Naoki had actually shoved him bodily from the room and shut the door behind him) and now -

Now he was here. Staring at -

He wasn't sure what that was either.

(The stupid heels didn't help.)

Izu took a few tentative steps forward, peering curiously around at the foggy entrance, trying to see if there was anyone else around who might possibly be of any sort of assistance. So far, there was nothing, except for a brief glimpse of a shadowy movement.

This was not good.

Izu slunk forward, wondering if he could possibly get out of here before he had to turn in the essay due the next morning in his Government class.

Sadalsuud - East Entrance

Quote:
Character HP: 50/50

Sadalsuud quite sure just what it was that had called to her, but that 'something' had called her to mirrorspace–

And that 'something' had been insistent in that she had to get to mirrorspace and she had to get to it now!

She wasn't alone however, because there had been a small black cat pawing at the surface of the mirror that she had remembered being at the warehouse - the same black cat that had helped the Prince make her who she was...

And Sadalsuud had taken her with her when she had asked - because how could she not - how could she not when Miss Kitten had helped her that time before?

She was still holding the small black guardian cat as she stepped through the mirror and whilst she had only been to mirrorspace on the day that she had become Sadalsuud, Sadalsuud couldn't remember it ever looking like...

Looking like this as it thundered and shook around her.

The fog reminded her of the park and the tall walls of a maze, but unlike at the park her head felt clear as Sadalsuud gently held Miss Kitten close for a moment.

Just a moment and then she loosened her arms so that the small black kitten could slip down if she wanted.

Something shook again and for a moment Sadalsuud thought that she saw a white-haired woman - one that reminded her of some of the people at the park–

And then she was gone, almost as if she had been some sort of mirage, and all was left was the maze.

"I think.. I think I need to go in there" she said to Miss Kitten as she glanced at the maze and then at the gathered Dark Mirror senshi...

Some she recognised from the park and for a moment she thought that she saw the Prince but most were unfamiliar as she looked back at the maze and what appeared to be the closest entrance (
East Entrance) before looking at the small black guardian cat as she added "Will you come with me?"

Tantalus stepped through the mirror, and shook his head. He no longer felt overwhelmed by the pull from the shard, but it was still there --

And Mirrorspace was broken.

He had spent many and many an hour here, and he was deeply familiar with how Mirrorspace was supposed to look, how it was supposed to work. This was....this was wrong. There was that awful fog everywhere, and wraiths, more than he had ever seen, soaring around. And there was a pull, down a path, and he took it, jogging. There was somewhere this shard needed to go - and the further he got, the more he felt a sense of fear. Not for himself, but from it. It only got worse when he found the labyrinth.

And there, for just a moment, was Mintaka, struggling, and -- and she needed help, and this shard needed to go back in its damned box, and he was putting it there.

He grit his teeth and took a breath, turning towards the south entrance.

"You're going back where you came from," he said flatly, as if the shard could hear him.

Stepping into Mirrorspace felt like coming up for air. Like he'd finally escaped everything that was drowning him and he was himself again. Except that he was himself in a very different kind of horror movie - the kind where somewhere that should have been safe (he didn't spend much time in Mirrorspace, but he spent enough to know this wasn't right) was suddenly anything but.

What could he do, really, but go deeper?

So he went deeper, taking a long breath and stepping onto the path and praying nothing else came for him, that there was no more dark oil to pull him under or monsters to make him hate himself.

There weren't, there was only a labyrinth and -- and --

"Mintaka," he gasped, and he ran forward, even though there was only a bit of a glimpse. She'd been a friend, a mentor - and now he could help her, and he was going to, damn it.

He picked an entrance practically at random - west, it didn't matter, anything might get him closer to the center, he was sure.
