Exhaustion
For capes, super powers run on near infinite energy in terms of the body’s limits. Using your power non stop for days at a time will do very little to make you tired. However, this does not extend to your body in general. Where your powers don’t alter physique, your limits are very similar to a non cape’s physical limits. Blood loss, lack of food, mental strain, other detriments are all still a factor. You must be mindful of these things when fighting. Your body can and will give out on you.
Battle, Damage, and Death
Within this guild we don’t rely on a stat system and as such fighting will be carried out by roleplay. Be mindful of your powers, their limitations, and your character’s other limitations. By allowing this sort of trust, you the player are expected to roleplay in a manner which is fair (no godmodding, auto hits, or other forms of OOC cheating), consistent with your character, and in a way which creates an atmosphere of collective fun. Within the world of worm there is often a sort of elaborate game of adult cops and robbers played between capes. Heroes, unless granted permission to kill will use non lethal force in their attempts to capture super villains 98% of the time. In both a spirit of good will and to avoid escalation many villains will chose to avoid killing heroes. Doing so tends to bring the wrath of both heroes and other villains down upon the culprit. (See the truce)
Unless a fight is very one sided in terms of experience, powers, or forces it will be typical for capes on both sides to walk away with injuries. These can be anywhere from scrapes and cuts, to life threatening injuries. Use your head, take your bumps where it makes sense. Injuries do not magically go away and you must seek medical aid to serious injuries. If a disagreement should arise it is highly recommended that you politely discuss it with the other party before seeking assistance from the guild moderators. To help minimize conflicts we recommend that you try to make friends with people within the guild across all the factions and types of character. One final piece of advice is to not be afraid of working with your friends to achieve more scripted fights, allowing you to have a more guided combat experience where everyone walks away happy.
Death is an unfortunate reality within the world, and sometimes characters will die. Character death can provide a wealth of experiences both emotional and in terms of story content. As we expect a certain level restraint and maturity within this guild, you do not need permission to deal a lethal blow to someone else’s character. While we often become attached to our characters, you shouldn’t take such things personally. At the same time know that behavior like repeated ganking, griefing, or other behavior which negatively impacts the guild as a whole will not be looked upon kindly and your character might experience unwanted consequences.
Character Limitations
Please be aware that the vast majority of players will be normal humans in terms of their acrobatics and limitations. Some have enhanced movement capabilities but for the most part they will not be flipping around and dodging things like crazy. Sometimes the best way to get out of being smashed into a puddle of goop is to simply dive away and get a few scrapes from the pavement.
