MAY 4, 2012
Late night flights were always the best, because the sort of freedom Bumblebee found above all the bullshit below was something he couldn’t describe. Work was busy, because a recent car accident kept him occupied until 9:45 PM. Still, work was work, and the customer was generous when they realized how much care that went into fixing his ride up. When he did get out, he was exhausted, so a flight was all he needed. If only things were peaceful for once, but there was a never boring night in his part of the city...
Earlier, he heard some talk about a gang shootout underway, two rival gangs wanting to settle a score at around 10:30 PM. It wouldn’t be long now, and he an idea of where it was going to go down, but he needed to stay above to figure it out for sure. He just needed to hear that first gunshot, and he would go to work. Hopefully the guy he asked about the details didn’t suspect his involvement as more than curiosity. He brushed it off as something he was going to avoid being around, but he would do the exact opposite. Surely enough, he found what he was looking for soon after: suspicious vehicles centering around a shabby basketball court, with a bunch of guys stepping out with guns. Needless to say, the police were tipped off; cops were pretty crooked in their part of down.

"Come on, kid. Don't do something stupid." Will never acted on the information he gave to people. Whatever they did with it and what he told them was their business. Sometimes it was pretty dangerous, other times it could have been harmless only this time Will was sure that a whole lot of people were gonna die tonight. He stood at the street corner, stroking what little facial hair he had as he contemplated his next move. The guy paid well, Will figured maybe he just wanted to warn some people before it all went down, he was cool with that but Will wasn't a fool and something about the look in that man's eyes seemed off.
Everybody had powers these days it seemed and it was hard to judge who could handle themselves and who couldn't. Gang violence was ruthless, unpredictable, and swallowed a lot of innocent people for no damn good reason. Will grew up around all of it and then some, having his powers merely showed him an easier way to survive it all. It was an advantage and if anybody asked him, it was the type of advantage that a lot of people desperately needed.
Nearing 10:30, Will posted up across the street with a set of binoculars to watch the show. His info was rarely ever wrong and just as he told the man, the two gangs seemed to meet at the basketball court and as Will looked further, he spotted the weapons they were packing and immediately lifted a brow. Right on time They weren't messing around here. Out of the corner of his eye, something caught Will's attention. For a moment, it was in the sky, zooming about until it practically dive bombed onto the scene a ways from the site where the shoot out would take place.
"The hell is that?"Will slowly lowered the binoculars down before sliding them deep into his black trenchcoat. In it's place, he removed a ski mask from another pocket and threw it over his head which would conceal his identity if and when he made his move. There was another player in the game, nothing he had every seen before or at least he wasn't certain. This was quickly making a turn into one of those nights.

When it was obvious that something was going to go down, he smiled. “It’s time to put on a show,” he said, tapping his wrist and turning on his song before going to work. He did a little spin in the air before diving, retracting just in time to slam his legs into the first gangster, the others turning astonished at the strange man before them. As Bumblebee pulled his forearms towards him, they began to glow a bright yellow, signifying that they were charged up and ready to fire. He spun around, firing stun rounds at the surrounding group—which brought about a few stray bullets from the gangsters themselves, though he acted too quickly for them to aim—before setting his foot on the hood of the nearest vehicle, pushing himself up with a little leap, and thrusting himself back into the air with help from his jet pack.
He wasn’t really counting, but he managed to take out four so far. Fortunately, the attack was preemptive, and the enemy gang had yet to cross the fold onto the side he was on, but the sound of bullets seemed to cue the enemy gang into coming forward. While his suit could take quite a bit of heat from some bullets, he wasn’t willing to deal with that kind of damage, so he fired an incendiary at a vehicle to frighten them with fire, reverting his own attention back at the first gang he encountered. Unsurprisingly, they opened fire on him, but were largely unsuccessful due to his swift flight. It was the first few that were always easy to take out, but it became significantly more difficult afterwards. Of course, had he taken the straightforward way and just killed them all, he would’ve already been on his way home, but that defeated the purpose of stopping a bloodbath from occurring. At the end of the day, many of them were just people who made bad decisions, likely out of their own misfortunes; they didn’t need to die over some petty gang feud. Instead, he’d settle for the stun rounds, though it was a lot harder to shoot when he was as high as he was. If only they could find some distraction below that didn’t involve them shooting each other.

And the fun begins. Will thought, gunfire exploding into the air along with various bursts of light below. He couldn't go down there without some kind of protection and began frantically searching for something to pick up. Any material that was durable enough to take more than a few hits. "Jackpot," Will's excitement in fighting a suitable substance was hidden by his urgency to get down there and aid in quelling the chaotic and violent gang altercation. A few feet away from him sat a metal pipe, long enough for him to attain a complete silver coating. Grasping in it both hands, the entirety of his skin shifted into a metallic shine. In one solid motion, Will bent the pipe into a U shape before tossing it off into the distance and with his added strength, it went farther than any normal human could throw.
In the midst of the two gangs fighting among themselves, Will plowed through them with ease right from behind where they'd least expect it. One of them made an attempt at running right passed him but just before he got away, Will stuck his hand out grabbing the back end of his shirt before tossing him back into a car with a sickening thud. "Walk it off, take a couple pain killers and you'll be alright." He said to the unconscious gang banger before moving on. He didn't care as much as one would think, but he preferred to take the route that involved less casualties. There was no reason that more of this s**t had to plague this side of the streets anymore. It was a hindrance on the innocent who just wanted to live their lives.
Traversing through the chaos, Will was met with three gang members firing off their small time guns at the metal man. Each bullet collided with his body, collapsing into him before falling to the ground. While his skin was protected, he couldn't say the same for his clothes as they now sported enough holes as a piece of swiss cheese. "Ain't that a b***h?" Will stepped forward, confident that they could do nothing to hurt him. They knew it too but proceeded to empty their clips at the man until there was nothing left. As he stood directly in front of them, one was bold and dumb enough to swing on Will, landing a punch directly on his metal jaw before screaming out in pain. "Now why'd you have to go and do that?" He tried to add under the pained wailing. Will took the other two by their shirts before they could run and slammed them against each other twice for good measure and dropped them to the ground. How easy it would have been to crush every bone in their body once he got a hold of them. He had to remember that among all these grown men were a couple of kids who's ears were whispered into, promising, money and clout no doubt.

It seemed luck was on his side, because a distraction did come, in the form of an absurdly strong stranger making short work of the gangsters below, and thankfully not killing them. With them distracted, they were far easier to shoot, so he quickly took aim and struck them down, one or two at a time. “I wish I could just lock on,” he said to himself, unknowingly triggering target markers on his heads-up display. “Oh, they done ******** up…” he said, firing—and landing—all of his shots to take out all the remaining enemies that weren’t beside his mystery helper. He hadn’t owned the suit for long, and it didn’t exactly come with a manual. It was terrifying enough the first time he ended up flying, but there was still plenty of things he didn’t know the suit could do. When he wrapped up, he descended, hovering a few feet up in the air. “Not bad, not bad at all.”

Spiraling out from behind their respective vehicles, five young eager men came out of hiding, emptying their magazines as quick as they had probably loaded them in. "Ya'll know this gets old after awhile?" Surely they couldn't hear him over the sound of the repeated pinging. Their ear drums were probably on fire with all of the gunshots banging too close for comfort. Lunging at them before they could try and strike him down, he'd brush passed them with ease knocking them all to the ground as if they were weightless. They hit the ground and skidded to a halt, seemingly unconscious after such an impact. The scene seemed to quiet, aside from the sound of the yellow and black individual hovering over Will.
Closing his eyes for a moment, his metal form seemed to dissipate showing his flesh once more. The fight was over now, he had no need for his ability so long as the others stayed down. "Could say the same to you. Some flashy a** moves over there." His altercations were slower than one might think, most were often too afraid to take him on up close but you'd find that one special kind of person who was the right amount of brave and the right amount of dumb to do something crazy as to try and punch his cold, metal skin. In between each gang member, Will had the chance to glance over at the bright lights flashing behind the set of vehicles. He didn't normally see any other heroes around here, most didn't touch these sides of the streets, leaving a lot of these people to fend for themselves. It's why a lot of this s**t was going down in the first place?
Will look to the ground with a slight chuckle. "Don't tell me you're the dude from earlier that was looking for some trouble to get into."

Bumblebee laughed, but not in any rude or disagreeing sort of way, gradually descending before standing atop the vehicle below him. If it weren’t for the fact that the clowns they just roughed up were on the ground, he would’ve lifted his helmet, but it was safe to assume he was who he was believed to be. “I ain’t got nothin’ to hide there. You’ve got me. I’m just tired of watching people do nothing. We’ve got all these fancy-a** heroes, capes and s**t, and ain’t nobody doin’ a damn thing over here.” Obviously, that didn’t include the person he was talking to. “I figured I had to do something about it, so here I stand.” He couldn’t blame the mainstream heroes entirely; the cops in West Valley Park were crooked, and pretended everything was fine, though the gang violence, prostitution, drug trade, and other shady crap said otherwise—the people outside didn’t even understand. No one wanted to invest any money into their neighborhoods, because they were convinced it would all be futile, which left the area’s inhabitants to sit and die through it all. “What about you?”

His mind was in the right place. That wasn't something you found often in people on this side of town. People willing to give a s**t about the crap that goes down around here. Will's respect for him was instantly through the roof, not to mention the fact that he also was envious of that suit. One of the gang members groaned on the ground, making it obvious that he was trying to sit up. Will knelt down on one knee, staring the man in the eyes for a second before planting a firm punch onto his face. "So damn persistent." He'd stand up straight, approaching the man dressed in black and yellow. "Where is the lie?" A laugh escaped him before he settled, looking around the makeshift battlefield.
"I see things, a lot of things. People come to me cause they know that I know all of the happenings that go on around here and just about everywhere else in Chicago. Connections and all that bullshit. I'm assuming that's why you were asking around for all this. Funny thing is you're the first person I've heard about who's decided to do something about what they know here. Something's gotta be done, and you know what?" He paused for a moment, nodding as he confirmed his thoughts. "I feel like for you this isn't a one and done type thing, especially while you're rocking that suit. Could do a lot of good with more numbers." He'd stick a closed fist out in from of him, offering future service to the guy considering there were few people in these parts willing to put up a fight or care for that matter.

“You’re right,” he stated—about all of it. “Let’s do it then,” he said, stepping down from the vehicle and extending his hand for a handshake. If he was up for it, then West Valley Park was all the better for it; it was high time people tried to do something about all the crime in their community. With his new friend’s know-how, it certainly would’ve made it easier. While they both knew that they wouldn’t save their community in one night, time would hopefully see it improve—to become something better than what it was presently. It was the first step that needed to be taken.

Angel had been so busy lately with stuff at home she hadn't been able to go see her friend Danny. she approached the warehouse with her usually messy ponytail, tank-top and shorts. As a way to say 'Sorry I was ignoring' you gift she mas him his favorite of her recipes. She approached the door that was elevated a few steps up and knocked. It was the closest to a front door he had. She hoped he was home. This would be awkward if he was gone. When he answered she help the plate up and smiled the grin off you know what deliciousness I have under this foil. "Are you going to let me in or do I have to eat these myself on your porch?" She said knowing he let her in. they had been friends since kindergarten and around here that was the best kind of family.

It was two o’clock in the afternoon, and he had spent almost all that time dozing off. It was his day off, thankfully, and he had the pleasure of sleeping in after a night of heroism. It just so happened that rumors were circulating around West Valley Park about a duo of vigilantes patrolling at night, discouraging some gangs from rearing their ugly heads. He happened to return home at about one o’clock in the middle of the night, slipped out of his suit (which was no simple task) and then lazily hid it in a duffle bag, though part of the helmet was poking out and he hadn’t fully closed the closet door to begin with. He forgot about it, seeing as he didn’t think much of it before he went to bed.
Of course, by the time he heard knocking, he was already on the couch. He told himself he was only going to lie down for a bit the night before, but ended up falling asleep instead. It was a good thing he had gotten used to getting straight up, so he began to walk towards the door, easing up when he heard a familiar voice and recognized the scent of chicken quesadillas. However, right before he opened the door, he made sure he was dressed right: a plain white tee and some jeans. “I hear you, one sec,” he replied, unlocking the door. “Wow, that smells good, but I’ll bet it tastes even better. Come on in.” He didn’t even recognize that she had been seemingly busier before, largely because he was busy himself. Either way, he was glad to see her, and stepped aside so she could walk in.

She entered the home once she was invited in. She really didn't need to knock. Heck, they were buds but she found it polite. He must have been busy too as he needed to wash some dishes before they could eat. "Hey gotta pee be right back." Angel said. Neither of them had much shame around each other. hard to have shame when you spend the awkward years together. she finished her business and washed her hands. She was heading to the kitchen and the sound of dishwashing when she passed by his bedroom and spotted something oddly shiny. She approached the shiny spot peeking out of his closet. When she carefully grabbed the part poking out she found a rather cool looking helmet. She wandered back to the kitchen examining the helmet. "Whats this thing?" She asked when entered

Danny nodded as her stated her intentions, moving towards the sink to wash the dishes he forgot to wash the night before. He’d be sure not to make a habit out of neglecting his responsibilities at home. He was in the middle of washing when she asked about something, so he grabbed the cloth from the oven, dried his hands, and turned, coming to a sudden stop when he realized what she discovered. He could have lied, but there wasn’t much of a point then; she knew him well enough to tell when he was being fishy. “It’s a helmet—for when I go crime-fighting,” he said casually. Really, the only way this would work out without her knowing was if she thought he was joking, but there was a chance she saw the rest of his stuff, at which point he would have been saying something believable.

Angel had been looking in the helmet when he awnsered. She looked up at him with an eyebrow raised. She knew him well especially if he lied. He certianly wasn’t. She did recall seeing more in the bag prehaps the rest of it "Seriously? That kinda sweet." She said. She want worried he didn't tell her before. It not like she didn't have stuff she hid too. "You don't seem the cape wearing hero type. Is their electronics in here?" She asked trying to peer in it.
