Alec made his way into his room and set his stuff down beside his bed. Laying down, he stared up at the ceiling and thought about his day so far. It was not only his first time at the academy, but it was also his first time in the city. 'I gotta try to make more friends. It's Helia I'm worried about the most. I'd hate to see him fall to the darkness.'
Yuri stood on the other side of the door to his new dorm room. He had hoped that he would have a room to himself, he wasn't sure how he would be able to handle being in a room with other guys when he was confused about who he should like. But it was not to be. He put his key into the door and opened the door. There he saw another boy. Just great. His roommate had to be there. He tried to not make eye contact, fear that he might fall for him too. It was bad enough that he fell for his best friend back home, but he didn't say a word. He carried his bags to an empty bed and tried to continue to not make eye contact.

Alec had arrived back in his room and laid down on the bed. He had enjoyed the time he had spent in the garden, but it felt nice to be able to lay in his bed. It wasn't long after until he noticed the newcomer come through the door. He figured that it was one of his roommates. "You must be my new roommate. No one else has yet to arrive. My name is....A...Alec....."'What is with this guy? It's like he doesn't want to acknowledge that I'm here.'
Yuri jumped. He hadn't expected the other boy to speak. Now that he was spoken to, he couldn't be rude. He turned to face the other boy and bowed his head."Y..Yuri...Yusami. You can call me Yu....Yurio. It....it's a pleasure to meet.....you."He blushed as he spoke. He still tried to not make too much eye contact, but what he saw of the boy he seemed nice. He turned back to his stuff."F...forgive me. I....I am just a little nervous. I...I am just unsure....of myself at the....moment."

Alec smiled a little and nodded. "I...It's a p...pleasure...to..meet you as well."'We certainly share one thing in common, shyness. Who knows what he has been through. It's better that I don't ask.' Sighing a little, he rolled over on his side. "I'm sure that whatever it is, you'll figure it out. Just follow your heart and everything will work out. You'll see." He then closed his eyes and rolled back over on his back. Alec had no way of knowing what Yuri had been through and he wasn't one to pry. All he knew was that he needed to give Yuri some space until the boy was ready to talk. 'He is kind of cute.'
Yuri stole a glance back to Alec. He was a little unsure but he did seem to be quite easy to talk to. He then turned towards Alec fully."I'm from....a place called Eorzea. I came here to run away from someone. So....I hope....we can be....friends."He turned around half way through his introduction and started going though his bags. He puled out a small frame that he touched gently. He smiled lightly and sat it over onto his bedside table.

"I can tell that you're a little shy." Alec said, smiling a little. "It's fine though. I'm a little shy myself." When Yuri mentioned being friends, he sat up in bed. "I...would like.....to be...your friend..." He was quite happy that he was actually able to make another friend. Yuri would make for his second friend of the day. "This is a good school and there are many allies around. You don't have to tell me anything, but I'm here if you ever want to talk." Alec watched Yuri's movements and looked down a little. "That must be something special to you."
Yuri looked over to him. He showed him the picture."It's...my parents. They....died when I was....very little."He shivered and then returned to his bags keeping quiet. He pulled out some clothes that looked middle eastern in a sense and walked over to his closet and started putting them away."They died from an illness that was running though our home."

Alec looked down and gripped his arm. "I'm sorry to hear that Yuri. I have no idea what that must have been like for you. Losing someone like that isn't something I would know about." What else was he supposed to say? Both his parents were still alive and he had never lost someone he cared about. 'I can't understand his pain, but I know that it must be hard on him. No one should have to go through that.'
Yuri shook his head."I don't remember them. I was probably only 2 or 3 when they died. I....was raised....by my uncle."Yuri couldn't stop the deep red that crossed his face. Just thinking about his uncle made him remember all the horrors that he had gone through and the feeling of what it was like to be touched in that way. It was hard enough to find an outlet for all the pent up emotions, but to find a way to calm his body was the worst. Without realizing it, his body had become so used what he had gone through that his body longed for it, much to his dismay."But I....I a hiding from some....one.....now. He...He is not......nice."

Alec stood up and stretched a little, before walking over to Yuri and placing a hand on his shoulder. "Are you alright Yuri? Would you like to get some fresh air? It might do you some good." He smiled and did his best to make Yuri feel better. "You are safe here. All you have to do is ask for help and someone will be there."
Yuri jumped when Alec placed his hand on Yuri's shoulder. He was shaking for a second before realizing it was only Alec."Fresh...air....might be nice......"Yuri still slight shook, afraid. In reality, being outside was the last place he wanted to be. But if he was with Alec, it might not be so bad. He grabbed some of Alec's shirt as the shaking didn't stop."Just....don't leave me....."He hid his face as he spoke.

Alec smiled and held Yuri close, trying to calm him down. "I'm not going to leave you. Where would you like to go? The school has a garden and a nice courtyard. We could even go into town if you like. We are friends after all. You decide where we go alright. I won't take you anywhere you don't feel comfortable in." For some reason, Alec didn't feel shy around Yuri. He needed to open more and become less shy around people. In truth, he had made a new friend and Alec knew that Yuri needed help. It wasn't in him to turn away someone in need.
Yuri stopped shaking after a while. Being in Alec's arms felt nice."T....thank you. T....town sounds too crowded....the Courtyard sounds perfect. I want....to stay.....close to school."Yuri didn't know why but being with Alec felt comfortable and easy. Maybe he could open up to him some more at some point."Alec?"He blushed when he realized how close they were.
