Capital City State of the USA and strongly held Providence territory. As the city containing the Providence Headquarters, entering the city is virtually impossible for those fighting against Providence and crime is nearly non-existent as criminals are nearly always caught by the high number of Providence Agents in the city.

A male stumbled out an alley between two buildings, his head was throbbing, heart racing. He wanted help. He needed help. He didn't know how long it'd been since he was taken by him. But he managed to at long last escape. He knew there was only a small window until they realized he was gone. And there was no doubt in his mind once they did find him, he'd be dragged back there and killed. Why? Because he was a deviant. And no, that wasn't a theory he pieced together. It was the truth given to him when he asked why. He was told that "life dealt him the wrong hand, that maybe if it hadn't, he wouldn't be here". The second part always confused him. For Sylar Queen never really knew whether his torturer meant him or themselves.

Either way, he didn't care. He was free now but also weak as he'd not eaten in days. Which meant he couldn't fly. All he could do was run and barely that, to get as far away from that place as humanly possible. Which was ironic because he wasn't human. He was a deviant. He made sure to drive that point home. He saw a male walking and ran over to him ignoring all sense of personal space as he grabbed him by the collar of his clothes. "Help..he's...coming." Meanwhile, Osiris on higher ground watched as his prey brought someone else into the fold. All's he saw was another kill and more blood on the hands of Sylar. How unfortunate Osiris thought before firing off an arrow aimed for Sylar's pectoral. The arrow head piercing through just barely grazing the male in front of him..

You'd think that long hours of paper work and sitting at a desk for years on end would begin to tire someone out. That maybe after a few years they'd pack their bags and would be on their way to the next job for new experiences and challenges. For Garrett, this wasn't the case, especially in the middle of a warzone. All over the world it was Deviant vs your everyday average citizens who've had enough of the people with powers mucking up the place. They're destructive force and wild natures make them increasingly dangerous and have proven that they are here to stay after several countries have fallen under the reign of the Dominion. They fought to keep their own in a state of peace, removing any opposition against them. Disregarding the fact that Garrett too was one of them, he didn't approve of their methods and wanted no part in what they had to say or do, and in a way, he felt the same about those who stood up against them.

Garrett looked both ways before crossing the street, clutching his messenger back as he hustled over to the opposite sidewalk. After a long day at work, he could go home, relax, and repeat the day all over again, just the way he liked it. He broke out into a short whistle, a tune that he had heard many years ago that always seemed to stick with him. It calmed him as he traversed the dimly lit streets in that general area. It wasn't the safest place and while he preferred not to use his abilities, they would no doubt be useful in ensuring that he'd live to see another day.

"Help..he's...coming."

"What the hell?!" Garrett shouted as the young man gripped at his clothes. He stared down at him, wide eyed and confused. He was battered, beaten, maybe even tortured and didn't look like he'd last long without some kind of help. "I-I-I, I'm gonna get you some help, just stay right th-, holy s**t!" Garrett practically shouted as he jumped back watching an arrow head puncture the man's skin, causing him to keel over and fall to the ground. The man's panting and heavy breathing came to a slow halt before there was nothing. Garrett was left in the silence once more, though the lingering sense of death had no intention of leaving. He'd clutch his bag tight, looking around left and right and overhead. Where did that arrow come from? Who was that man? Was he a deviant too?

Garrett threw up one hand into the air, a cloud of ash and smoke surrounding his hands. "Screw it!" He uttered before bolting off in the other direction. Why did he use his powers? Whoever killed that guy probably saw him go all cigarette mode for no reason. s**t. s**t. s**t. I can lose him, I can lose him. Just gotta keep going and never look back.

It was near the end of his shift so of course, another call came in. This one was a gun wound. He knew he was in for a rough ride to the hospital the poor kid was only 14 or so and was scared. The kid was one of the unfortunate Deviants that couldn't hide their power. Unfortunately, a 'concerned citizen' had though the kid was trying to break in. While the man was cuffed he was one of the responding paramedics called by the cops.Dex opted to only use a bit of the calming pheromone power he had to one not be obvious about it and two he knew he had to moderate it otherwise this one would knock him out and really raise alarms. He could help if he was careful.

They made it to the hospital and the kid had grown attached to Dex. He couldn't blame the kid. The poor kid was going to need surgery fast and he had already called ahead. There were only a few surgeons that specialized in handling deviants. The terrified kid made him promise to stay till the doctor got there. The poor kid was getting quite the dose of calm from Dex but was still scared. He did his best to keep the effects as tight as he could to avoid it being detected. Soon the surgeon would be here and he could be done with this day.

Osiris considered letting the other go. After all he had no idea if they were a deviant or not. Therefore he couldn't fully determine whether they deserved his wrath. But that entire notion was no longer such the very moment the other displayed inhuman abilities. Smoke manipulation huh? Thus, giving Osiris enough evidence to conclude they too too, were a deviant. Behind his mask a smile crept onto his lips. He'd not expected to take another so soon. Oh well, duty calls. Was his last thought before peering out from his position, down to the ground below watching as the male ran for safety.

Little did he know safety was no longer an ally of his. There was nowhere he could run or hide. Life as he knew it was over. It was only a matter of time. Osiris began making tracks overhead his latest prey. They needn't worry though. He would only follow for now, and let them drop their guard when they thought they were finally alone. If he fired an arrow now they would no doubt go into full out panic mode. And that, just wouldn't do. Go on. Lead me straight back to your home new friend. thought Osiris.

Traversing through the dimly lit alleys, Garrett's footsteps hammered along the ground as he ran with all of his strength. He could easily evade this killer with his quick wit and evasion skills but he didn't want to put all his cards on the table. Exposing himself further would practically seal his fate, if it wasn't already. s**t. s**t. s**t. You just have to keep going until you lose him. They all give up sooner or later! The more he ran, the more the uncertainty began to sweep over his body. The skill it took to deliver that kill shot was obviously expert level and honestly seemed rather familiar from reports that he happened to read. A notorious Deviant killer who's methods included torture and, as he saw before, perfectly sharpened arrows. No, no, no! This is not how I go out.
Come on, Garrett, come on!
This thoughts were rampant, is breathing rough and over exaggerated as he kept along a random path without breaks and without hesitation.

As he turned the next corner, Garrett darted out right into the middle of dangerously speeding traffic. His fear of death and the fact that some deviant hunter was practically on his doorstep completely left him without his basic know how and instinct to check both ways, one of life's first basic lessons. A car nearly collided with him and at that speed, it would have surely killed him. Instead of taking the collision, Garrett broke his body down in a smoke like form as he propelled himself forward to the other side of the street to then reappear solidly once more. Once on the other side, Garrett ran into an old shop that looked to be closed for the night. One tiny shot from his smoke caused the brittle lock to bend to his whim as he walked inside. Slowly Garrett crept through the store, eyeing the knickknacks that adorned the shelves along the entirety of the building. They were all odd looking with eyes that followed you wherever you went, the color fading on the sides of them.

M-maybe I'm good here? Garrett said as he knelt down, out of sight from anyone looking in through the windows. He only had two exits, the front and back door, while also possibly having to resort to a more destructive option if things got hairy. This isn't what he wanted for himself though, nor was it how he thought he'd finish off the day.

Dr. Krista Morhan

Dr. Morhan had been called in to deal with a bullet wound of a young Deviant. Operating on Deviants was a specialty in itself given all of the special conditions involved for dealing with various powers. Her Prehensile Tendrils gave her an advantage however since if they were damaged or destroyed they would heal or grow back, unlike human hands. When she arrived she quickly spoke to hospital staff. The surgery room was still being prepped, as was the anesthetic, but both should be ready by the time she had scrubbed up. Still since they weren't ready for her yet, she decided to visit the patient to see what exactly she was dealing with. There she found a EMT sitting with the victim who was laying on a gurney as they all waited for her and the surgery room. He was so young, yet strangely calm. “I'm Dr. Morhan.” She introduced herself to both of them, though most of her attention was on the boy that had been shot. “I'll be preforming your surgery. We'll have you up and walking around again in no time.”

"Alright buddy I got to go but you're in capable hands now, ok? They'll fix you right up." With a small bit of protest, he was able to leave and so did the aura of calm and scent of mint left with him. He clocked out but stuck around. He wanted to know if the kid would make it he was not wearing the top of the uniform but his undershirt and the pants.he was pacing outside surgery but out of the way for the surgeon to finish.he kinda hoped she did detect his extra involvement with his powers.

Dr. Krista Morhan

A couple of hours would pass before Krista would remerge from the operating room. It had been relatively simple procedure in all honesty and really a regular surgeon could have done it just fine if it wasn’t for the fact that they were so afraid to work with Deviants. Inside the nurses were just wrapping things up and the kid would be brought to a recovery room in the hospital. “Oh, you are still waiting?” She asked, a bit surprised when she saw the EMT waiting outside the room. Usually they left as soon as dropping a person off. “Do you know him?” She asked. After all it was fairly common for Deviants to stick together in a world where they were often attacked for being simply what they were.

Dex said looking towards the doc from his seated position outside the door "I take the kid did well?" He mainly hoped he remained undetected, the kid had him cutting it close as he always tried to not use it close to people who may be deviant experts like the doctor. He really didn't want too many questions. Even this close to providence it wasn't good to be a deviant, look what happened to the poor kid. just walking around looking differant and someone shoots him and lands him in the hospital getting surgry. The poor kid drew the genetic short straw.

Osiris looked on as the frantic individual nearly got themselves into an accident in attempt to escape. Even displaying their unique power once more as they reappeared on the other side. He was intrigued by the ability never having the joy of killing a smoke manipulator. This should be fun. he thought to himself. The mouse scurried looking for a place to hide like they always did. And just like mice, did he manage to find a place. It was a quaint shop, the lack of light letting him know it was closed much like most of it's neighboring stores. The archer started to raise his bow aiming it carefully. If the prey wasn't going to come to him as Osiris, they would if he got their information as his other self. The arrow zipped forward sticking to the glass and with a five second countdown shattered the glass. Osiris enjoyed his work before turning and walking away. The response time on the shop's alarm system in this neighborhood would be rather quick. And he had to change. See you soon kid.

Atlas Judge

==========================================================

January 29th, 2013

The bus pulled into the station about 1 hour early. Atlas couldn't remember any of the 7 hour ride from Columbus all the way here to D.C. He was too busy thinking about what his next steps would be. He knew why he was here and it killed him knowing he would need to work with such despicable people. It was his only choice. He had spent days thinking about how he would convince Providence to let him join the cause. Only he knows his intentions, but they must never figure them out.

Atlas walked off of the bus and entered the station. It was a small bus stop with little more than a brochure display, three rickety benches and a help desk. There were only two other people in the building, one of which seemed to be a homeless man borrowing one of the benches to sleep on. The other was an older woman sitting at the help desk. "Can I help you, young man? You look like you are far away from home," She says as she lightly chuckles. Atlas walks towards her and smiles, letting out a small sympathy laugh."Yeah, I am pretty far from home," Atlas turns towards a map hanging on the wall near the desk,"Would you be so kind to tell me where Providence is?"

The smile on the woman's face started to fade."Providence? Well, I do know where it is but why do you want to go there? That place is nothing but trouble with all of those deviant people doing God knows what," she says as she starts looking a little worried,"You're not a deviant... are you?" Atlas turns back to her and smiles."Don't worry ma'am. I am not a lowlife like the people at Providence. Deviants are scum," he explains has he continues to survey the map,"I just want to know where it is so I can stay away." Atlas has never been scared to lie in order to get ahead. The woman tells him where Providence was, and after a quick thank you he was out the door, and on his way.

Dr. Krista Morhan

It was hard to remain unattached in their world, yet vitally important. Especially hard when working on fellow Deviants. Krista was lucky as she could hide her powers and very rarely displayed them outside of the operating room. The poor boy didn’t have that luxury with his green skin. “I expect he will make a full recovery. The nurses said he didn’t have any I.D. though, so we have no one to call to look after him.” Naturally she couldn’t get into too much detail about the green boys medical status, but she didn’t see the harm in sharing that little information with the concerned EMT. “I don’t suppose there was anyone where you picked him up?” She didn’t think it was likely given they would be here by now if there was. Perhaps she would contact Providence. She certainly didn’t what to leave him alone and injured at the hospital. People were more accepting of their kind in Washington D.C., but there were still plenty of problems.

Good, he be able to relax. "Well other than the guy that shot him no. I asked where he lived and he mentioned a street were I have made a few calls. There is an underpass where a lot of the homeless gather as it has places the practically build homes at. His belonging in a back pack had clothes and a book or two, no wallet, no id." Dex explained. Poor kid likely was born homeless. Even here in D.C. deviants where mistrusted less so if you could hide it. But this kid? No he wouldn't have gotten the chance to fit in. "Only qustion is what's done once he recovers doubt the state going to let him back to being homeless and under 18, especially when he has no records at all." He doubted the kid would he able to get a good home in state system.

Jayce Sneed

A slight chuckle escaped Jayce when he spotted a sign in the reception area that read, "Do not enter authorized personal only." Without any signs of concern, Jayce pushed past the double doors and strolled through the hospital halls all while whistling a tune. Despite this being a restricted area Jayce seemed to know where he was going. Then again this wasn't his first time he stole from this particular hospital. Typically Jayce never cared about the minor details for the jobs he was assigned, as long as it paid well, however this gig was rather odd. Apparently his client was paying top dollar for heavy duty anesthetic drugs and the client needed it in bulk. Jayce was a little curious but in the end it really didn't matter what the drugs was being used for because it was easy money for a guy like Jayce. Knowing that he was getting close to the storage area Jayce picked up his pace. Everything seemed to be going as planed until a nosy nurse spotted Jayce.

"Sir you're not supposed to be back here! Excuse me sir." The nurse shouted.

Ignoring the woman's cries Jayce continued towards his destination. Unfortunately the nurse perused Jayce. The nurse began running towards Jayce, while yelling the same garbage as if she was stuck on repeat. The hospital's future employee of the month eventually caught up to Jayce. Determined to halt his progress the woman latched onto his leather jacket. When Jayce swung around to face the nosy nurse the woman stared at him with wide eyes filled with fear. The nurse had spotted the Glock 22 holstered on his hip and looked as if she was about to scream. With a heavy sigh Jayce rolled his eyes and punched the woman in the face. Not one for chivalry Jayce continued to beat on the woman until she was evenly knocked ********>." Jayce muttered as he shook his bloody fist.

Even though the nurse had been knocked out, Jayce was not in the clear. The woman had caused quite the commotion, which meant Jayce had to hurry. In a haste Jayce bolted to the supply room; shoving anyone who happened to be in his way. When Jayce entered the room he started grabbing all of the bottles labeled anesthetic medicine and shoved it into a small black duffle bag. The pressure was on and the hospital security may have shown up at anytime but it was moments like these that Jayce felt he was in his element. This feeling, this sensation of adrenalin reminded Jayce of his military days as a member of Laughing Skull.
