Earth ponies are the most common type of pony within Everchange. Known for their sturdiness and adaptability, they are a reliable race within the world. While they lack a considerable amount of magic, they naturally are kindred with nature and find it easier to farm and manipulate the resources around them.
Earth ponies resemble a typical horse. Their height and weight varies immensely, lacking any sort of standard amongst their kind. Their hooves seem stronger than other races, and have a harder time getting injured.
Earth ponies have higher endurance, as well as more raw power. They have an affinity for the world around them and the resources it provides, making jobs related to farming and mining particularly easy. However, they lack any magic to speak of, and are weak to magical influence.
Earth ponies were one of the "original" races to be created when the world of Everchange began creating life. Earth ponies took to Dream Valley naturally, as it provided the most neutral territory that fit their needs. While over the centuries Earth ponies began to spread out, Dream Valley has remained the most populated area for this race.

Unicorn ponies are one of the few races that can actively use the assortment of magic within Everchange. While some races may come with a racial magic that is incredibly limited, Unicorn's are known for learning and even creating spells at a rapid pace. It's thanks to them that the technology of Everchange even exists.
Unicorn's have a singular horn on their forehead. While extremely rare cases speak of Unicorn's with multiple horns, it is a sight that is typically unseen. The source of their magic comes for their horn, resulting in most Unicorn's taking utmost care of their horns. While commonly Unicorn's are on the smaller side, it isn't unheard of for Unicorn's to come in various shapes and sizes.
Unicorn's possess a natural ability to tap into the magic within Everchange. While it takes training to learn a spell, they are open to learning almost all magic that is within the world. Unicorn's come with a natural ability to use minor telekinesis to lift objects around them, which can grow stronger with repeated use. To learn more about Unicorn magic and what they can learn, go here.
However, Unicorn's are fairly weak to physical attacks. Also, breaking or damaging their horn can abruptly stop their ability to use magic, as the source of their power comes from their horn.
Unicorn ponies were one of the "original" races to be created when the world of Everchange began creating life. They settled in Dream Valley for a few hundred years before migrating to Spring's Rain upon discovering a small mine full of glittering stones that enhanced the duration of spells. They emptied the mine, using the material they found to create a small palace for their monarch. While the stones have since lost their power and they haven't found similar gems to mimic the effect, Unicorn's can typically be found in Spring's Rain to this day.
As Unicorn's began learning spells and documenting them there became a demand for a school, as younger Unicorn's were starting to hurt themselves without the proper education behind the spells they were using and the dangers that came with them. Runesigil became the first school of magic for Unicorn's, and is now the most notorious school.

Pegasus' are one of the few races that can fly freely without magic involved. Paired along with their ability to walk upon clouds, it's not uncommon to find them in the sky.
Pegasus' have a singular set of wings. While extremely rare cases speak of Pegasus' with multiple wings, it is a sight that is typically unseen. Their wings are a source of pride and taken care of to the best of their ability. No matter the size of their wings or the pony their wings can hold their weight. While commonly Pegasus' are smaller, they come in all shapes and sizes. They feel fairly lighter than the other races, no matter their size.
Pegasus' possess a natural ability to both fly and walk upon clouds. Sadly, there are instances where a pony simply can't fly, no matter their race or how hard they try, but luckily that is incredibly rare. They can, with enough Pegasus' involved, redirect storms when need be. Unfortunately, their wings are very delicate and easily get injured, making them a delicate race.
Pegasus ponies were one of the "original" races to be created when the world of Everchange began creating life. Initially attracted to Dream Valley, they began creating a city within Fall's Harvest, where the breezes often helped with their flight. Once the city was completely and named Cloud City, they migrated to Fall's Harvest.

Alicorn's are the most powerful race, as they are composed of the abilities from Unicorn's, Pegasus', and Earth ponies. Created to help keep Everchange alive, they hold control over their respective domains. Without Alicorn's the world wouldn't be able to exist as it does, and as a result plenty of Alicorn's have a huge ego. They are a solitary race and tend to prefer being alone.
Alicorn's have a singular horn and singular pair of wings, as well as stronger hooves. While they are usually moderately taller than the other races, they do come in various sizes. Their horns and wings are larger than other races who might have those traits.
Alicorn's have the natural ability to tap into any Unicorn magic without training, making them the most adapt with magic amongst all the other races. On top of that, they have special powers only they can access that are related to their domain. Alicorn's can directly control their domain, whether negatively or positively. When an Alicorn dies, their domain may suffer until a new Alicorn is born with that domain. Usually, as the domain holder nears death their domain is "handed off" to a newborn, making the original holder weaker. This is perceived as an attempt by the world of Everchange in maintaining as much balance as possible.
They also have the natural abilities that come to Earth ponies and Pegasus'. The Four Alicorn's (the Alicorn's with the seasons as their domains) hold the most power amongst Alicorn's, and thus hold the most control and power over Everchange. The only exception would be the creator Alicorn, who remains asleep.
Alicorn's were the first race created. They didn't stick to one place in particular (minus the seasonal Alicorn's and creator Alicorn), as they are not a race that typically finds enjoyment in company. As time went on, this didn't change. Alicorn's have stayed rather consistent in their nature and temperament, for the most part.
❧ Do Alicorns typically hold positions of power by grace of their being? They are less sociable than others, so typically they don't, other than the seasonal Alicorns. It doesn't mean there aren't ones that would and are entrusted with it, it just means they aren't deliberately sought after for positions of power.
❧ Are all Alicorns antisocial? No! As everyone is unique in their own way, there are exceptions! While the 'typical' Alicorn tends to feel a distance with others due to how they're viewed as almost untouchable beings, some don't even care and will happily live amongst other ponies.
❧ Are all alicorns ancient or are there younger ones? Alicorns have the same life-span as other ponies (which is deliberately left rather loose, but typically they have the lifespan of a human). When one is close to dying, their powers will begin to grow weak as their domain prepares to be given to a newborn Alicorn. Once an Alicorn dies, their domain will appear sometime in the future under a different Alicorns control.
Apdione: Forgotten over-time except by the Seasonal Alicorn's, the sleeping Alicorn remains unbothered within the Prism Palace. Having created the world during her lonely dream, she is the creator of Everchange. Wynter: The Winter Alicorn, who runs Winter's Breath. She isn't a rather kind pony for the most part, but her subjects remain safe under her. Spring Alicorn: The Spring Alicorn, who runs Spring's Rain. Summer Alicorn: The Summer Alicorn, who runs Summer Touch. Fall Alicorn: The Fall Alicorn, who runs Fall's Harvest.

Pixie ponies are an uncommon race due to removing themselves from society for many many years. As a result, you're unlikely to see many, but when you do you'll find that their wings are absolutely stunning. Pixies are more carefree than most races and enjoy a good laugh! They feel happiest around flowers and other greenery.
Pixie ponies have large antenna's and a singular set of butterfly or moth wings. They come in two variants; moth and butterfly! Neither variant has an advantage over the other, but moth Pixie's have more fluff on their chest and fluffy antenna's, while butterfly Pixie's have sleek bodies and thin antenna's. Moth and butterfly Pixie's have different standard wings, making it easy to tell the two apart. Unfortunately, Pixie's cannot fly, but they can hover a few inches off the ground for a short few seconds.
Pixie ponies tend to be smaller than the other races and often are petite! However, it isn't unlikely to see a Pixie pony that doesn't fit that body type!
Pixie's are physically weaker and lack most magic, but their presence and touch can help plants grow faster! Pixies also are able to communicate with bugs, though no one is sure how! Bugs just make sense to them, and Pixie's make sense to bugs!
Pixie ponies were created shortly after the "original" races, and they used to get along with all the races. However, they didn't like how society began evolving by taking down nature to make their own homes, and Pixies slipped into hiding in Rose Forest. Centuries passed and the Pixies were forgotten. That is, until they felt ready to try and embrace the world again and left their forest to finally mingle back into Everchange.
❧ Is there racism against the Pixies? While there probably groups of ponies who feel that way towards Pixies, their return to society has, for the most part, been peaceful.

Dragon's are another race that can fly freely without magic, although they cannot walk on clouds. Instead, they can withstand intense heat with seemingly no limit! Dragon's also are known for breathing fire, helping them forge metal.
Dragon's have a singular set of wings, non-hoofed feet with claws, sharp canines, slit pupils, spines on their backs, and long tails with fluff attached at the end. They are more likely to be on the larger size, although small Dragon's are not unheard of! Their claws are razor sharp, and skin strangely tough. While their wings may look too small to support them, Dragon's can fly freely.
Dragon's can fly! They also can withstand any heat. They breathe fire, although it can tire them out to use this ability longer than a few minutes or so. Their fire color is unique to each Dragon. It isn't uncommon to see green, blue, or even rainbow fire! While Dragon's love heat, they also find that rainy or cold locations make them feel nauseous unless they are a Spring or Winter aligned pony.
Dragon's can also almost smell treasure, though if you ask one how they do it they won't be able to answer you. The smell is different to each Dragon, and what they consider treasure is different to each, but they're drawn to whatever they consider desirable, making them absolutely a race that follows after their desires.
Dragon's were created a century after the 'original' races and quickly took to Summer's Touch. Their unique ability to detect what they consider treasure led many into hoarding ways, and soon room to store their treasures was limited with Summer's Touch. So, they looked to expand, colliding with the Aquatic's who loudly announced that the Dragon's should stick to their territory instead of stepping on others. Not only that, but Aquatic's scoffed at their fire breath. Annoyed, Dragon's began to pick on the Aquatic's ability to draw water from any source, calling them thieves. It was illogical, and irrational, but the two races instantly butted heads. As a result, both went into hiding for several centuries.
Hearing that Pixie's had left their hiding and been met with open arms, Dragon's came out of hiding only to discover the Aquatic's had too. How annoying!

Aquatic's are a race that has mastered the ability to live peacefully underwater. While they much prefer their underwater cities and towns, they also do like socializing and will come above water to embrace the world around them.
Aquatic's come in two types; Sharks and Fish. Shark Aquatic's have shark back fins and shark teeth, while Fish Aquatic's have fish-like back fins. Both types have long, fish-like tails and fins on their arms and legs. Aquatic's do not come in a typical size, as they vary greatly. However, Shark Aquatic's are more likely to come in larger sizes then Fish Aquatic's.
Aquatic's have mastered water and even thrive in it. They need to be damp at all times, which makes travel into certain regions very difficult without a charm to keep their moisture in. They can breathe freely underwater and do not need to live above water, although that doesn't stop them from doing so anyway. Drying them makes them incredibly sick, and keeping them from moisture for a week at most can even kill them.
Aquatic's can draw natural water out of sources that have it. While it will dry whatever object they're doing it on, it can help them rehydrate. Aquatic's can also lightly control water as a weapon, although they can't send it very far from themselves (at most two feet).
Aquatic's were created a century after the 'original' races and quickly took to Spring's Rain. They often traveled to farms to help pull water our and water crops, making them very useful. However, they grew very irritated when they heard Dragon's were looking to take more land to hoard more items, calling the Dragon's out. The Dragon's responded by mocking their powers, and Aquatic's followed suit. This went on for years before the two races, in a petty and silly fit, went into hiding for several centuries.
Hearing that Pixie's had left their hiding and been met with open arms, Aquatic's came out of hiding only to discover the Dragon's had too. Gross!

Having only just recently left hiding, Ghast's are still a peculiar race which hold tight to their secrets. While they range in all sizes, they possess a ferocious strength and a sentient tail. It's best not to anger this race!
Ghast's come in all sizes, but no matter their size they always have a sharp-toothed tail waiting to nibble on the nearest offender. Their tails, usually, lack eyes, but they have a large mouth which can and frequently does consume food. They share the same digestive system as their host, but they have separate brains, meaning tails can have vastly different personalities than their host!
Ghast's also have defensive horns running up their spine and on their forehead. They have pawed feet, perfect to tearing apart attackers. Their mouths are wider than the other races and bear sharp teeth, reminiscent of their tails.
All Ghast's have four eyes, which are generally one solid color; lacking pupils.
Ghast's are able to harness and master illusion magic, which probably was how they stayed hidden for so long. They can create mirages over their form to trick others, and the most skilled Ghast can even alter someone's senses towards them. Other than that, they lack other magical ability, although they make up for it with a strength that is almost unrivaled by any of the other races.
Ghast's were created a century after the "original" races, and were instantly seen as a mistake due to their more ghoulish appearance. They settled in Fall's Harvest for quite some time until a misunderstanding ended their time in the public. Unfortunately, a severely mutated Ghast ended up ruining the annual Pumpkin Festival, knocking over various lanterns until the town the event was in — Briar Town — burned to the ground.
Ghast's were immediately blamed as a whole, the hatred fueled by years of tension. Ghast's, in an attempt to flee, began to disguise themselves. While some pretended to be other ponies, others shielded themselves as shadowy figures to ensure the public kept from them.
This lasted for several centuries until a Ghast ended up breaking the long rule of avoiding other races and ended up falling for a Unicorn. Releasing their disguise, a few other Ghast's joined in an attempt to throw away their quiet and lonely past. While their return to the public wasn't perfect, it seemed times had changed enough for ponies to accept Ghast's back into their communities.

While not the best flyers, Bats can still soar the night sky, as well as have perfect night vision! Generally harmless, this small race keeps to themselves until the sun sets.
Bats, believed to be a variant of Pegasus', have two large bat wings and sharp fangs. They typically are on the smaller size, but like all races, not everyone follows the standard! Bats have a unique eye trouble; their eyes change to a dimmer color in the sunlight and then illuminate at night.
Bats have perfect night vision and can fly, although they are weak flyers and often need moments to rest. While they have fangs, they are purely defensive despite what the movies claim!
Unfortunately, sunlight makes them almost completely blind and give Bats migraines. As a result, they tend to stay hidden away until the set sets completely.
Bats were created shortly after Pegasus' were, although they weren't easy to find most of the time. They enjoyed Fall's Harvest in particular and only would come out at night. While the other races knew they existed, Bats were already an uncommon race and so many ponies could go an entire lifetime without ever seeing one.

The Suli are one of the rarest races, perhaps even rarer than an Alicorn. Incredibly delicate and drawn to nature, they are hide to find and often are believed to be myths by most.
To be a Suli is to live amongst nature, and it shows on their very body. Covered in moss and flowers that literally grow from their body, Suli can easily blend into thick forests and often can be overlooked as a result. Their tails are a large flowers and their main source of nourishment! While they can eat normal food, the most delicious source of food is direct sunlight on their tail. Larger Suli often come with long horns, which are used to defend their small population.
Suli ponies are naturally able to help plants grow and communicate with nature. While one may find it confusing to understand, the Suli can hear the whispers of nature and even communicate in return by emitting a soft and strange sighing sound. Suli ponies are incredibly weak to fire and thus stay as far from it as they can. While they will survive if their tail, moss, and flowers end up destroyed, it does affect their personality until such traits regrow, often making them more forlorn and depressed.
Suli can consume sunlight, and vastly prefer doing so.
It isn't known when the Suli appeared, but one day they were just there. While incredibly rare and scattered throughout Everchange, they often lived in small groups, creating villages deep within overgrown forests. It was almost impossible to see one of the rare ponies out in public, especially after ponies began to start searching for the elusive race, causing the Suli to retreat further.
