XXXNebula woke up to the pungent order of champagne, cocaine, gasoline, and most things in between; she dared not imagine what those things 'in between' could be. The last thing she was doing after scoring some of the money she got from Lily's cookie sales, was riding around Balsam Village in a shopping cart, smoking a pack of camels while she was chanting aloud that she was a smoke alarm... It sure was a hell of a feeling, though. After that, she went streaking in the park, then went skinny dipping in the dark with a couple of new friends she bought. Her favorite part of the night however, was the unforgettable menage a trois with those bought friends. What were their names anyways? Forget that, she was going to do it all again next week. Wait... Where did she get the money to do all of t- "Oh my God."
"... I'm screwed," she groaned, inspecting a bottle of 40 she had in one hand, with the other hand clenching onto her saxophone, which she was confused as to why she had it there to begin with. "I spent the money. How did I spend the damn money?!" Nebula groaned again, this time in pain. It felt as if she had a stick up her a**. The young woman rolled along the ballroom floor, and looked to see what she was sitting on. Lo and behold, a pile of acorns was what kept her bum 'comfortable' during the night. Taking a swig of her 40, Nebula looked up at the ceiling, wallowing in her failure. "... Why did I do that...?"
I will never be satisfied...

✶ The darkness that filled this empty room would suddenly be pulled in a manner which could only be described as highly unusual. This would form a pitch black circle of a shadow in the center of this wide space. Silently and seamlessly emerging from the void would be Lady Dharke herself along with a young bluenette who accompanied her. The woman glanced around the ballroom as she rose, taking note of how empty it was. This was a sad room for a ballroom, not due to its size or even its decor. No, this room had not once been used for its purpose for as long as Evelyn could remember. This hall was meant for dancing and royal galas; however, such an event never came to pass under her father's rule. It begged the question why such a place would exist within the castle. Her father had used it for a far more heinous and insidious purpose, one that made her curious as to why she chose here of all places to emerge. The empress looked down beside her at Mizuki as they had finally risen completely out of the shadows. Those shadows would soon recede back from where they came, which was just about everywhere. The room was dimly lit, despite the numerous chandeliers hanging overhead. It made the atmosphere of the room far more bleak and dire than it appeared, but was more than appropriate.
Closing her parasol, Evelyn had it bound with a flick of her wrist to keep it from unraveling. She would then use it as a makeshift cane, tapping the end on the ground and causing an echoing click to resound through the empty hall. "Ahh. Here we are in the ballroom. I figured this would be as good a place as any to return to the castle" she nodded. "I assume... You are still distraught with what happened to that woman. Yes, I suppose it is unfortunate and yet... I can't help but feel your resistance in this matter. Remarkable, especially in light of what happened. You still believe you stand a chance of escape, am I wrong? And so, that is why we are here in this vile room" the blonde remarked, creating distance between her and the princess, her heels clacking loudly with each step. Leaning on her cane, she would face Mizuki with a slight smirk. "To you I offer this in exchange for you and your friend's freedom. All you have to do...is touch me. Think of it as- what do you children call it? Tag? But you will only have ten minutes to tag me and should you fail, you will do everything I tell you henceforth. Does that sound reasonable to you?" she asked the girl, awaiting her answer.

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ A heaviness settled in Mizuki’s spirit as she accompanied the blonde woman through the shadows. These shadows were blacker than night, darker than any she had ever encountered before. A dreary way to depart a far bleaker circumstance. Yet the shadows Evelyn utilized to travel were nothing in comparison to those encapsulating the room in which they emerged. As they stepped forth from the shadows, Mizuki found herself overwhelmed by the absolute oppression emanating from the grandiose ballroom. Its size and grandeur all but obliterated by the pervasive darkness. Her gaze cast about. Her body slowly spinning in place as she took in the décor and spirit of the place. I do not like the feeling of this room. It was rare that a location impressed her in such a manner. Even the light seemed to flicker and wane in fear of the shadows here. A resounding click from Evelyn’s cane drew the young princess’s attention from the dim atmosphere to her. “I only agreed to come with you to keep the townspeople from harm. The accord was for nothing more than that.” Bitterness laced the teenager’s words. Teal orbs glimpsed the blonde from over her shoulder. Contempt clear in them. She wanted to make certain the woman understood her stance on the matter. With the townspeople kept from harm, she would be exploring every avenue of escape and return home.
Those ambitions were soon called into question by the monstrous woman whom offered a compromise of sorts. Mizuki paused where she stood, staring at her captor intently. She wants to bargain? Something of the arrangement did not ring sincere. Evelyn had moments prior murdered a woman to secure her cooperation, and now she would so soon free her if she could but touch her? No, there must be more to the terms than that. Pivoting on her heel, the Celestial Spirit mage faced the blonde fully, “So all I need do is touch you, on any portion of your person, and you’ll let myself and Chloe go free without restrictions or conditions?” It sounded even less plausible when repeated. Yet it was the terms for if she should fail which set her most ill at ease. The Eridani princess needed to be certain of what she faced with this woman. An irrevocable mistake was the last thing she wished to make. “Before I make such a pact, I want to know exactly what you mean by doing everything you ask of me should I fail. Are you talking about attempting escape or something more? Give me the parameters and I’ll give you my answer.” If it were regarding escape, then Mizuki was perfectly content with agreeing to her terms for she had ways to circumvent it; however, if it were something more sinister, then she would not be willing to take the risk. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

✶ There was no need for Mizuki to state the obvious, as it was clear how Evelyn got her here in the first place. That much was intentional, but perhaps the young girl had yet to realize that? While it was true the empress did not care so much about this "affliction" called the human heart, she was well versed in manipulating it to her benefit. It was just as obvious that Mizu would "sacrifice" herself if it meant saving others or at least, Evelyn presumed as much from their conversation. Evidently, her hypothesis was spot on and yet, this alone was not enough to sway the little princess. And so this little game was being presented with one goal in mind... When she repeated back to her the conditions of the game, it was even obvious that it seemed like a deal too good to be true. Her skepticism was to be expected; a sly smile appearing on the woman's face in response. "By doing as I say, I mean to say that I want your obedience. You can rest assured princess, I would never have you engage in anything...illegal. No, I wouldn't ask you to do anything like that. On that, you have my word." She wondered if Mizuki could tell by now when she was being genuine. Whether she believed it or not, she was being very serious and would truly let the girls go...IF she managed to touch her.
Losing the two princesses would set her plan back by a wide margin, but it was their cooperation that would also make things easier. A great loss and a gamble she was willing to risk on this little game. 'Ah, a gamble. Nebula would love this, I bet. Fufufufu' she chuckled to herself. "But yes, you but need to simply touch me to win. I figured this would be a much cleaner alternative to something like a fight. And to be fair, I will not use Magic either. Now...do you agree to these parameters?"

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ The dilemma was a difficult one. To have her and Chloe’s freedom placed before her, under the guise of a simple game of tag, it was both infuriating yet intriguing. Dare she believe the woman? It was a relatively simple task on the surface. However, as the teenager had learned during the games with her siblings, it could be quite difficult to touch someone whom did not wish to be. How many times had Ten’no evaded her and Miuna’s grasp? Of course, her younger brother tended to utilize his magic to assist himself. Evelyn, on the other hand, agreed she would not do so. An internal struggle waged within the Eridani princess. Her mind weighed the pros and cons of agreeing to her terms while her heart yearned to prove both her agile nature and resolve to be free. But if I fail..., she refused to dwell too long on that thought. Failure meant obedience to a woman whom felt the murder of another to be of little consequence. Merely a means to an end. I don’t know if I could withstand it. The shame of being beaten at a child’s game seemed as nothing when compared to the potential for what Evelyn might have her do. Although her words rang of sincerity, Mizuki remained cynical. She could not shake the sense there was something more at work in the woman’s mind than she let show. Yet, the temptation of freedom was great. Despite her misgivings, the bluenette accepted one thing as truth- Chloe and she would indeed be free if she could but touch the woman.
Mizuki debated for a moment longer. At last, with a resigned sigh, she nodded her acceptance. “I accept your conditions. No magic shall be used. If I touch you, we go free. If I haven’t by the end of the allotted time, then I’ll do as you ask of me…with obvious exceptions, of course.” Evelyn should understand she would not cross certain moral or personal boundaries…win or lose. Her word was her bond, which is why she added the caveat. “If we are agreed,” the princess took a breath, “Then let’s begin. I’m ready whenever you want to mark the time.” Mizuki would then settle into a ready stance while she awaited the blonde’s cue to commence. Mind already racing with the various scenarios to be set forth. The moment start was declared, the young princess would race forward, seeming to target the woman straight away. She would veer away upon nearly reaching Evelyn, though, dodging to the left only to circle around to the rear in a bid to catch her off guard and touch the shoulder or upper back. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

✶ Having satisfied Mizuki's queries pertaining to the challenge, she accepted the terms. Thus, they could alas begin the game, an amusing grin appearing on Evelyn's face. The girl took a ready stance, prepared to come at her once she gave the go ahead. It looked like this was going to be entertaining, though that all depended on the young lady's performance. The Empress looked up to her left, casting her gaze to the massive clock face that displayed the time. She waited for the second hand to make its way back to twelve, both of her hands gripping tightly on top of her cane. Her eyes remained on the time as the hand finally struck 12 and she gave the go ahead to begin. Mizuki wasted no time, quickly lunging toward her with reckless abandon. But it was a feint for her true plan to target her back. Evelyn hummed curiously, taking a few steps forward as the girl circled around her. When she reached out to touch her, the blonde spun on her right heel, pivoting her body to evade the girl. Then she spun a second time; this time on her left heel once it touched the ground again. Still facing Mizuki, she put ample enough distance between them to avoid a follow up move to her initial attempt. All the while, she kept both hands laid upon each other and resting on her cane. "Now then...perhaps now is a good time to talk? I'm sure you're confused as to why you're here or where here even is. You likely don't even know who I am, correct?" she asked, her smile waning. "Allow me to reintroduce myself proper. My name is Evelyn Dharke, Empress of Llanarthen. Here in Fiore, I am better known as the Guild Master of Broken Crown. You stand here in my castle which also serves as our guild hall, specifically the ballroom. I thought this would be a fitting place to conduct our dance" she expressed. Evelyn remained where she stood, having no need to engage Mizuki herself in this game. She simply need to keep her distance.

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ Mizuki focused on the task at hand. Her concentration fully on the woman before her as she enacted the first of her plans. Charging straight ahead, it seemed the blonde believed in her actions. Hope flared high for a brief second. The princess feinting behind her and stretching for the touch. Fingers were mere inches away from grasping victory. But, alas, Evelyn did not give in so easily. She deftly evaded her hold with a pivoting maneuver. One which placed ample distance between them. Mizuki did not fail to notice she had yet to remove her hands from their position upon her cane. Nor did she miss the grace and agility with which the woman moved. Teal orbs cast up to the clockface. This is going to be more difficult than I thought. With such a short time, she would need to think and act swiftly. Each second that passed was precious and valuable. If a feint doesn’t work, then let’s try a different approach. Returning to her ready stance, she once more propelled herself forward. Yet she found herself stumbling to a halt upon hearing the woman’s revelation. That’s why I recognized her name before. Mizuki recalled a history lesson dedicated to the empire of Llanarthen and its rulers. Much of the lesson was lost amidst more recent history, but the names were distinct enough to warrant memory. “I’ve heard of your country,” she frowned, uncertain as to the woman’s end game. Glancing at the clock again, she decided it best to talk while playing her little game.
She bolted forward. This time, as she drew closer, she stayed true to her course. The intent was to prevent Evelyn from having a moment to gather herself so she might make an error. The cerulean-haired teenager launched into an assault of punches and kicks. “You’ve answered who you are.” Her right arm swung high, aimed directly at the cheek. “But not why I'm here. What is it you want with us?” She asked as she would follow up with a roundhouse kick before dropping into a sweeping kick to dislodge the woman from her feet. Evelyn would have to be jump or scurry backwards if she wished to avoid the contact from any of these. It would be in that moment Mizuki would spring to her feet and attempt to deliver a touch to her hand. Leo, she called out to her Celestial Spirit in that same instant. She needed to relay as much information as possible, despite the toll it would take on her from the distance. Evelyn had revealed valuable clues which might be used to end whatever war she was attempting to start. I have information! I realize now why I recognized this woman’s name! She is Evelyn Dharke of Llanarthen. She’s brought me to her guild- known as Broken Crown- for some purpose she hasn’t revealed yet. The younger girl could feel the stress placed upon her mind as it struggled to simultaneously process two avenues of thought. Her details relayed, Mizuki allowed the connection to fade for a time. Leo would be able to respond to her still, but her attention was required for the “dance,” as Evelyn so put it. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

✶ Mizuki came charging at her again, yet the empress remained still and loose. If she acted too soon then she risked having her movements read. Too late and she would surely lose the game. It was about using her reflexes to evade being caught. At the same time, she also studied Mizu to determine what she would do close the distance between them. She was also learning more about the young girl and her preferred tactics. Her first act was a feint which showed how clever and crafty she really was. Before she conducted her next plan, she froze up hearing Evelyn's identity; the blonde herself being surprised to hear Mizu actually heard of Llanarthen before. 'Well, well. It seems the princess has been taught well.' Much more than could be said of the other one. But once that was over, the bluenette came rushing at her again with a newer, simpler tactic. A barrage of punches and kicks was a good way to put pressure on your opponent and force them to defend. Evelyn smiled, backing away with each swing while being mindful of her surroundings. Mizuki might notice that she backed up in such a way that they moved in a circle without getting any closer to any wall. Essentially, she was keeping them in the center of the room. As she dodged Mizuki's right hook, she narrowed her eyes at her. "What I want with you... I did say I would explain, but I would prefer to have the both of you attendance" she explained, lightly jumping over the leg sweep. No sooner after her feet touched ground again, the girl was reaching out to touch her hand. 'So very sharp and quick! A good effort, but...!' Evelyn kept calm, rocking back on her heels a little and using her cane to push herself to slide out of reach once again. That one was little too close for comfort, prompting the woman to take several steps back again to put distance between them. "But first, I must ask you... Do you know what an Etherious is? The demonic beings made of Ethernano are who I speak of. They are a race that have existed for centuries, millennia even. Most are ostracized by humans even to this day, being treated like monsters."

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ Her attempt to reach the woman ultimately failed. It became obvious to Mizuki that Evelyn was adept at evading others. She was crafty and cunning, able to utilize the space to her full advantage. The fact they remained in the center of the room when most others would be cornered against a wall by her tactics made that quite apparent. With space between them once more, the young princess weighed her options further, listening to the blonde speak of Etherious and her desire to reveal her plans at a later time. She is able to read my movements fairly easily, she made mental note of Evelyn’s maneuvers thus far. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to dodge me as she has. Her agility is advanced as well. These factors alone would not make for short victory. The blonde also held the advantage of knowing the size of the space she was in and being intimately familiar with it. Mizuki spared but a brief moment to glance around at the setting. If she could account for the size, then perhaps she might be able to take away that benefit by using it to her own. “I know of the Etherious, yes,” the teenager inclined her head in the affirmative. “One of the most famous belonged to Fairy Tail. But I have heard of them elsewhere as well.” Her father made certain she knew of the various races which called Earthland home. For one could not rule a country of citizens from all walks of life if one did not know of whence they came. Tilting her head to one side, she studied the blonde curiously for a moment. What concern are the Etherious to her? She had to wonder. Was there something more personal in her inquiry about them?
Mizuki pursed her lips in thoughtful silence. While she did so, she reached up to remove the scarf from around her neck, revealing the scar hidden underneath. A move she did not often make. Though there was reason enough for it. As she prepared, Leo once more made his presence in her mind known. There was a sharp intake of breath as she the news of the carnage settled fully upon her. Worse still, her siblings- both of them now- would be made to bear witness to it. She wished it not to be, but what could be done with her being taken prisoner? She will pay for what she has done...somehow... Perhaps even if she were to win this game. Senses still attuned to Evelyn, the young Celestial Spirit mage began to circle the blonde. She started slow at first, merely walking in a counterclockwise fashion around her, then picking up speed with each completed circle. This continued until she ran at full speed around the woman. Evelyn might notice her circles grew tighter at each pass. Her goal being to keep the woman uncertain of how and when she might strike out. At last, when the circle was at its tightest she dared, Mizuki would enact the crux of her plan. Tossing her scarf above, the cloth would be angled so that it floated down upon Evelyn’s head to cover her gaze. The princess would then drop to the ground in a sliding kick, using her gathered momentum to drive her across the polished floor at brisk speed. When neared touching distance, she would the reach out and attempt to touch some portion of her lower leg. Should the woman manage to dodge, then she would halt her progress with a well-timed backspin, utilizing it to right herself so she could continue to forge ahead with another maneuver. For the clock was ticking. Her time running out. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ ✸ OOC ✸ Sorry about triple quotes. Though of a tiny portion to add to her maneuver.

✶ Yes, she also heard of this famous Etherious of Fairy Tail. She as surprised when she learned of him; envious even of the love and admiration he got from those around him. But that was years ago and what the Empress would refer to as "an isolated incident". Evelyn frowned and solemnly sighed as she shook her head. "Yes...though not everyone can be so fortunate to be as widely accepted as he. People fear what they do not understand; their initial instinct is to reject and deny anyone different from themselves. Though Etherious and Humans are not so different...are they?" she inquired of the girl. And while they conversed, she noticed the young lady looking around the ballroom curiously. It seemed something was cooking in that little head of hers and it wasn't a reply to the question presented. By now it was probably apparent that catching Evelyn even without the use of her magic was not a simple task. Said woman was keeping her wits about her while also keeping an eye on the time remaining. Not much longer now... With such little time to go, perhaps Mizuki would become desperate and sloppy from the pressure. At least, that was what she expected to happen, but there was still more to learn about this sharp and astute child.
Evelyn returned her eyes to the girl as she became silent and removed the scarf that adorned her throat. There in its place was a noticeable scar and likely the reason for the accessory. Where did she acquire such an injury? A question for later. For now she needed to pay attention, at least Mizuki's slow actions warranted it. What was she up to now? Eyes following the girl when she passed before her, faster and closer she circled. Keeping her stance, she would wait to see what was in store for her. Suddenly, Mizuki would toss that scarf of hers away, using it to blind her. Vision obscured, Evelyn only smiled when she realized what was happening here. In that moment, she may not have been able to see the princess; however, there was nothing hindering her hearing. So when her opponent came sliding toward her, Evelyn would in fact dodge...by performing a handstand on her makeshift cane with one hand free. Glancing down, she would see the girl sliding past her as she twisted her entire body while balancing on the handle alone. It was in an effort to turn her body around and to keep her facing the child when she landed. Heels clicking on the surface once more, she was ready to engage her next move when it came. "Even under pressure, you're so resourceful. As a princess should be" she complimented her with a honest smile. If anything, the pressure was making her just a little craftier with her approach. Knowing what was at stake, she was taking her time and striking with high accuracy. Given time, she might actually come up with a way to tag her!

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ As she feared, the woman managed to dodge yet another attempt. Mizuki grit her teeth together as the lady used her umbrella to place herself out of reach, sending her sailing past without so much as a graze. Using a well-timed backspin, the princess righted herself and faced toward Evelyn. She watched as the blonde lithely dropped from her makeshift cane to plant her feet firmly back onto the polished floor. “Why would I not be? Utilizing one’s resources is an important part of living. I don’t like squandering items or opportunities afforded when they are needed.” It was one of the many lessons taught her by her parents. Resources lay everywhere. Some hidden and others readily seen. One needed merely know where to look to find them and use them to the advantage. Of course, she was also taught to respect such things. Simply because a resource exists, does not mean it should be taken for the single purpose of possessing it before another. It should be used when, and only when, there is necessity of it. Want and need should not intermingle. Mizuki, however, was in desperate want for a plan that would allow her to tag Evelyn. All she tried thus far had ended in failure. She refused to give in though. There was still time left to her, minuscule as it was. The cerulean-haired teenager cast a glance at the large clock-face. A few minutes remained. Time enough for one last attempt.
Her teal orbs moved from the clock to the wall at her left. She managed to time things perfectly in the end, placing her near the staircase. It was near enough to reach without much effort. Above the ballroom rested a large chandelier with fabric streamers joining to it from the walls. Two of these streamers hung down low enough to the staircase railing to allow someone fit enough to latch onto it. The material seemed to be of the lighter weight which would be flawless for what the princess planned. Without a single word, Mizuki pivoted to bolt up the grand staircase. Her pace faster than most courtesy of the years spent chasing her siblings up and down her own castle’s steps. Blink and Evelyn might have missed her ascent as she took them two at a time, reaching her intended point in less than a minute’s time. She scaled the railing in equally less time and took firm hold of the fabric drooping overhead. Four forceful, mighty tugs found the material ripped from its station. Its end fluttered down around either side of the princess. One of the stanchions remained attached to it, clanging on the marble floor. It would be enough to give some levity. Precisely what she needed to see this plan through. She then proceeded to gather the lower portion of the material in her hand. Hefting it, she swung the curtain around her head a few times to twist it into a tighter structure.
“You are right about one thing,” the princess addressed Evelyn once finished preparing her next move. “Etherious and Humans are not as different as some believe. Both can carry darkness within their hearts. Both are able to choose their paths in life. But most importantly, we all strive to live…” Mizuki wrapped her right hand firmly in the curtain and clenched her fist. “And be free.” Saying the last, she darted down the steps, running straight towards the empress once her feet touched the main level. Brandishing the streamer, the Celestial Spirit mage would attempt to ensnare Evelyn in its long reach. The stanchion acting as a weight at the other end would cause it to coil around the woman should she fail to dodge in time. Likewise, should she manage to avoid its tendril, Mizuki could use her hold on the other end to adjust accordingly. She would press ever closer to Evelyn, shortening or lengthening the fabric as required, in hopes of entrapping her at last and preventing escape. The moment this came to fruition, the teenager would lunge to touch the woman’s shoulder and hopefully end her game. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

✶ Patiently waiting on Mizuki, Evelyn eagerly watched the girl to see her next move. It seemed she was taking in how much time remained when she glanced at the clock. In the final minutes of her allotted time, what would she do now? Run. She would run, quickly fleeing up the steps to where the empress knew not. At the moment, the woman was watching in awe, confused on what the child was trying to accomplish with this tactic. But that puzzled look would be replaced with a furrowed brow and mouth agape in shock when the bluenette tore the drapes off the ceiling. Had this girl lost her mind? Those were very old and had to treated with care! It wasn't like they could be replaced so easily as they were made centuries ago. Not only had she treated the fabric roughly but she also tore the support off the wall! And who was going to go through the trouble of putting it back in its rightful pla- 'Ah yes, Patricia' she made a mental note to herself. Well now that Mizuki had successfully defaced her ballroom, what had she planned to do with the cloth? Surely not the same tactic as one she attempted with her scarf. But what at the moment wasn't apparent even as she gathered it up to make it easier to hold.
Mizuki then spoke, answering her question regarding the Etherious and Humans. Her response brought a grin to Evelyn's face as she shook her head. Before she could reply to the girl, here she came, bolting down the steps faster than she ascended. When she tossed the weighted end of the drapes, the woman reacted accordingly: smacking it down to the ground with her cane in swift strike. Amusing how quickly she put together a makeshift weapon such as this. Though she misunderstood it's intentions when it instead coiled around her legs. 'Oh? Then she meant to ensnare me with this?' she realized as the princess now charged at her. She was now left with no option to evade which left her with one option. As soon as Mizuki neared her, Evelyn pointed her cane at her, waiting until she got close enough before opening it as a parasol once more. This would deter her from weaving around the umbrella and the force of it opening could even push her back a little. Unlike most parasols, this one was unusually heavy in that it also served as the empress' weapon of choice. Acting as a club in its closed form, it was heavy enough to inflict serious damage upon anyone struck by it. But in its umbrella state, it was a sturdy shield to sharp instruments and even certain magic spells. Although, Evelyn was careful not to aim the pointed end at the girl lest she risked stabbing her. With Mizuki's final attempt to tag her, there was not a moment to spare; the game was over. "And that concludes our game, my dear. I have to say, I'm impressed with your abilities. I didn't expect you to make use of such clever tactics. Sadly, you could not make contact within the time limit and therefore...I believe you will be on your best behavior from here on out, yes?"

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ Her time was at hand. The final moment drew ever closer. If she were to strike, if she were to succeed, then now was the time. I can’t lose this. I must win! Mizuki was determined to see victory. Chloe’s and her freedom was at stake! These were the thoughts that crossed her mind as she raced down the stairs and employed her new strategy. With a solid swing of her right arm, the princess sent the weighted end of the streamer towards Evelyn, silently hoping the woman would not read her movements. Come on-- Evelyn failed to budge from her position. Her only movement that of hefting her cane, slamming it to the floor and pinning the material beneath. Mizuki smirked at the gesture. She had no clue of her true intention. As the loose portion of the streamer became pinioned, the stanchion attached to the other end swung about. Its momentum enough to wrap the fabric about the blonde’s legs a multitude of times, securing her in place. The young teenager wasted no time in seizing her chance. She dashed forward. Arm outstretched to tag her opponent. This was it. Hope flared in her chest that she might come out victorious. However, it was not to be in the end. Mizuki did not expect Evelyn to have one last option. The woman thrust her parasol in front of her, popping it open to produce an unnatural gust of wind. Her eyes widened in shock as there was force enough to push her back. She stumbled, straining to stay upright. What was that?! Never before had she come across such an occurrence. Apparently, there was more to Evelyn and her personage than the girl initially believed. Mizuki was still attempting to recover her wits when the declaration she most dreaded echoed around the ballroom. Time was done. The game was at its end. She had lost. All the air fled from her lungs as if she had been punched. Understanding rammed into her like a ton of stones. Eyelids slipping shut, she processed those words which laid such a burden upon her. How could I--? She could not bring herself to finish that thought. As much as she wished it not to be, the truth of the matter was she failed to touch Evelyn in the allotted timeframe. Their terms had been clear from the off. Mizuki must adhere to them and pledge her obedience. “Yes,” the Celestial Spirit mage breathed out, opening her eyes to lock gazes with the woman. “I will do as you ask of me...as we agreed.” The words were sour on her tongue. But what was there to do? Her word was her bond, even to the likes of Evelyn and her ilk. Unraveling the streamer from her hand, the bluenette released her makeshift weapon before stepping back to the center of the room. The cloth of her scarf peeked out from underneath the larger fabric now splayed over the marble. Retrieving it from its hiding place, Mizuki deftly tied it about her neck, covering the scar once more. “May I be shown to Princess Chloe please?” ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

✶ Obviously the child was downtrodden at her defeat, Evelyn could feel that much. To be so close to what she desired most and be denied by her own shortcomings. But yet and still, she would abide by their agreement to be obedient during her stay here. Snapping her parasol closed once more, shadowy arms emerged from her shadow to carefully remove the drapes wrapped around her. They would gather the other half from Mizuki after she removed it from her arm, neatly folding it and pulling it into the shadows. The empress would have it cleaned and placed back where it belonged later on. Now that that was settled... 'Things are moving along, not as I anticipated, but doable. Now then, time is astonishingly against me. It won't be long before "they" act now. Perhaps I should ensure everything is in place' she pondered her plans. The young lady would pull her from her thoughts with a request she anticipated would come sooner or later. She turned to face her, leaning on her cane once more as she gave her a warm smile. "Princess Chloe, yes of course. I'm sure she would be very pleased to see you as well." Though honestly, she would rather do anything else than deal with that brat until she needed her. It was why she left her in the care of Rosa who... 'Where has she wandered off to, I wonder?' No matter, a simple visitation was something she could handle in the redhead's absence. Perhaps Chloe would be more tolerable today, at least she could only hope. "Very well! Come along, I will take you to her myself. Do try to keep up, this castle is larger than you might think and it is very easy to lose oneself in its corridors" she explained. With no further words uttered, Evelyn would turn and lead the way to the princess' holding chambers.
