This week was the week! Everything was pretty much prepared, with them only gathering the last few things that they were going to need to go on their journey to Jauhar. It was something that had Incanthis excited by at the same time a bit nervous. He was going home after all, going to face his family, some of which who might not be happy to see him. It was something he'd put off for a while but now that things seemed to be going well around here, especially with Abie being in a rather good mood these days after meeting with his older brother. It seemed as though it was time to go.
With that in mind he was heading out, his hood in place, going toward the market with Junior at his side. The emerald whelp was putting on weight and he was getting rather big these days, to the point that they were even starting his training as a possible mount one day. He was no rider like Abie planned to be but he would like to be able to keep up with him by riding on Junior's back. To help with that training the snaptrotter was carrying some packs on his back to help him get used to carrying around extra weight.
"Do your best, Junior!" He said, scratching him on the head in a gentle manner before they started toward the market place. They were in need of some more dried foods for their trip to feed both themselves and the various beasts that would be coming with them. The last thing they wanted was to deal with hungry babies during the trip because hunting would be tough. He'd make sure that the little ones had full bellies even if that meant another trip to the market place. With Junior at the size he was at he was feeling a lot more confident at least. If anyone tried to bother him then Junior could n** at them! That was the plan anyway.

Everything was a whole lot bigger than he remembered it as a youngling. Maybe that was because he was always kept inside? He looked down as Therus hid in his hood. The young healer had taken up a more covered sense of style. Mostly a long winding hooded scarf that draped over his upper body and head. Taking a few deep breaths he kept a firm hold of the leash he had to put on his pack. He hated that, but seeing not a single beast without a collar made him realize that his beasts needed to be claimed in some way. It was a fear that drove him to buy collars with tribal moons scattered across them from a merchant outside the border. Each collar had a stone that matched the ones he wore. Combined with a leash that he kept looped around his waist it was obvious who the beasts belonged to. The slender healer sat as Abysio lounged behind him. Saalin and Ullyee on either side. Saalin's head rose as he focused on a emerald snapptrotter. Giving a whimper, he caught Issaly's attention. "Ah...did you want to go say hi?" at a nod from the beast. Issaly stood. "Shouldn't be too rought, it seems like everyone around here is used to your kind...lets see if people are friendly." He knew the leashes were loose, enough that one could tell he wasn't used to them having to be led around. He walked towards the figure with the smaller Snaptrotter. "Excuse me...I'm a bit lost..." his voice was soft. As he spoke Abysio tugged his hood back. The young shifter giving a squeak.

Incanthis had a list in hands that he was reading over, humming as he went. He knew what he wanted to get but finding everything would be the most difficult part. Not that it was impossible to find stuff but because it was a lot to gather, "I think that we should find the fish last if only because carrying around too much of it is likely to get a lot of stray Perzi following us around." He told Junior, getting a little huffing sound in response from the snaptrotter. It seemed that he didn't want to deal with a bunch of clingy cats, which had Incanthis chuckling a little bit. "Alright, the fish will be last then." He said, giving him another pat on the head before Junior suddenly lunged forward, nearly knocking Incanthis over, "Ah! What are you doing, Junior?" He asked, watching as the emerald beast moved to stand between Incanthis and another snaptrotter that was approaching him, "Ahh... hello there..." He said to the beast, wondering for a moment where it had come from. That was until another Shifter, this one also hooded, suddenly announced himself as being lost. Incanthis blinked a couple times before he rested a hand on Junior's neck to sooth him and asked, "Oh? Where are you trying to get exactly?" Shopping could wait just a bit as he tried to point this person in the right direction.

Issaly regained his composure before he started to think about that answer. "Ah...see I don't really---ACK!!!" Abysio pulled again, this time removing the hood entirely. The circular forehead stones glittered in the light before the youth turned with a pointed glare. "Abysio. Drop it. Drop my scarf now." The Janarim whimpered as he dropped the scarf in the outheld hand of his master. Issaly sighed before rubbing behind his beasts horns. Looking back to Incanthis without his hood up he smiled. "I honestly have no idea. I'm more looking for someone...rather than something, but their military so I guess my first place would be a friendly guard?" He looked down at Abysio. "Really...if you wanted attention a nudge is enough...ah...where are my manners? My name's Issaly!!! I'm a herbal healer from..." he paused. "...nearly everywhere. I was born in Jauhar though, so I guess I'm from there...."

As the massive janarim stole the scarf from his master, a playful move from the looks of it, the entire world seemed to stop for Incanthis. There was a moment where he could hear a roaring in his ears that he realized was the sound of his own heartbeat as he found himself starring at the circle of stones that marked the Shifter before him. He opened his mouth, seeming to struggle to find words, then for a moment he just struggled to find air. That... that circle of stones... it couldn't be. As though to prove otherwise the one before him set to chatting in a friendly manner, introducing himself with a name that he knew well. Issaly... his mother's baby, one that had just been a tiny little thing when he last saw him. He didn't even realize that he'd moved until his eyes focused on his own hand as it traced those stones on the young man's forehead. "I see... Issaly..." He murmured, the only words that seemed to escape from him his lips as the roaring in his ears subsided enough that he could breath again.

Issaly felt the touch to his forehead, his head tilting towards the hand like a confused pup of sorts. Then something prickled the back of his mind. This was a shifter...perhaps? He glanced around the male's features, but their hood hid what he wanted to see...was there a circle like his? Then his eyes darted around for a bow...spear...one of those or maybe..he blinked. Beads? Was the man standing before him a healer? He knew the name's of his elders. He knew what Isaris remembered them training with...Incanthis. Fourth Son. Their Mother's student. Healer...he bit his lip. "I'm sorry...I...didn't get your name..." he felt his blood start to pound in his ears. Was this happening? Really? Was he meeting another elder? The one elder Isaris said for sure was dead. He was taken by the Obans...he reached up to touch the back of the hand. Ullyee's tail came up to gently thump both of the bigger beasts to behave as Abysio nearly growled in warning at the stranger touching their master.

The growl from Abysio caused Junior to hiss and in turn caused Incanthis to give a little jolt, as though he had just now realized exactly what he was doing, "I... I'm sorry! That was rude..." He of all people should know better then to touch people without permission, that it was both rude and might be something that was unwelcome. He knew that and yet he'd done it without even thinking... likely because of who this was. The same tiny baby that he'd held in his arms what felt a lifetime ago. A life that he felt was almost a dream instead of reality and yet here he was in the presence of the little one... or at least the one that had once been little and was now a grown man. "Sorry... I'm being rude again. My name is Incanthis." Would the boy know of him? It was hard to say since he was so little when he'd allowed himself to be taken to protect the others. If he reacted to the name, good, and if not... then he would have to figure out what he wanted to do. Would he tell him who he was? Should he? Like Abie he'd been gifted with such a chance but unlike Abie he was a bit more of a coward... and more likely to flee if left with the chance.

Issaly let out a squeak as he made to turn to scold Abysio. Ullyee beat him to it with a rather hard sounding whack with her tail. The Janarim was instantly cowering on his belly as the Xanteer loomed over him with a glare. To the side Saalin merely shook his head. The young shifter turned back to his elder. "I know you!!!" he squeaked out. "Isaris said...Isaris said...for sure...you were gone. You were dragged away by the Obans..." The slender shifter felt his eyes water as he reached out to physically touch the other. "Are you...my elder brother?" his hand shook were it laid. "Isaris said you were the one who protected me when I was born, you..." he sniffled. "If it wasn't for you...I wouldn't be here right now."

Incanthis gave a little jump as the boy suddenly squeaked out that he knew him, then started to speak of Isaris... who thought he was gone. Incanthis bowed his head a bit, "I... understand while little Isaris believes that... I was taken a long time ago." He gave a shake of his head before he said, "I hope that you and Isaris have been well." He hoped that they didn't have to deal with the same things that he had to go through in his life. If his little brothers were able to grow up happy then that made Incanthis happy. Giving a gentle smile he lifted his hands up to smooth back Issaly's hair, gazing at him, taking in every detail of the one he last recalled as just a little baby. He was so big now he thought to himself before he said, "I... well... I wasn't the only one on your side, little one. The others wanted to protect you just as much I did from..." He shook his head. He didn't want to out right say that they wanted to protect their baby brother from their father because he didn't like the way it sounded. Even if it was true. Doing so was just another reason for Issao to hate Incanthis... but that was an emotion he was used to from the man. As such him protecting Issaly and the others the most, taking on the man's wrath himself, it just made sense. Better then then the man turning his glare on the others when they were all following the 'right path'.

Issaly shook slightly as he stepped forward to lean into his elder. "You're here...Incanthis...I found you." another piece of his past fell into place. The slender youth sniffled as he held up his own set of beads. "I...mngh...I started to learn how to be a healer after hearing stories of you and Mother." All he wanted as a child was to help others, hearing how Incanthis protected him and Isaris in their Mother's place. How he overcame their Father's will in his own way. He sniffled a little as he looked up. He wanted to see his elder, then he looked around. "Are you safe here?" On this particular street, yes. There were many vendors who had come to know Incanthis through Abie. Therefore Incanthis was under many watchful eyes. A few ready to get Laofay if someone showed up after Issaly...

Incanthis starred at him for a long moment before he asked, "He actually allowed another of his sons to follow the path of a healer? He was pretty... displeased with that decision when I made it..." That Issao would allow another of his children to follow sucha path was a bit surprising. He'd of thought that the man would be quick to n** it in the bud since their mother was no longer around to get underfoot as she'd been for Incanthis. "Huh? Oh... yes... I'm fine. Nothing for you to worry about, little Issaly." In the past not so much but he was happy now, especially when he was near to Abie. A thought that caused his cheeks to color for a moment and he was quick to shake his head to clear the thought. Not a good path to let his mind wander down given present company. "How about you? How are you? And Isaris? You're both well? You didn't... didn't have to deal with any Obans soldiers or other dangerous sorts, did you?" He whispered that bit.

Issaly blinked at his brother's wording. Did...oh, no. Issaly shook his head sadly. "Incanthis...Isaris told me himself...he saw Father die. He fell to arrows that day we were separated. Most of the adults in the family were." he took in a soft breath as he leaned fully into the elder. It was a hug more or less. "As for me, I'm okay. I wandered around for a bit after getting into an argument with Isaris. He's in Jauhar with the family that took us in and raised us." he blinked as his elder whispered. "Ah...I was about to ask you something similar. When we were being sold, Isaris and I came under the care of a Military family. I was hoping to see them again to thank them. We were taken away in a rescue. I..." he thought about his words. Would he be betraying their family with them? "I just wanted to thank the matriarch of the family. She never let me feel as if I was less than a living being. She cared..."

Incanthis starred for a long moment at Issaly, his mind whirling, before he said, "I... see." He wasn't sure what he should think about that. He'd never really gotten along with his father and he was pretty sure the man was never anything but disappointed in him. After a moment he nodded his head and said, "Then I will visit his grave along with that of our mother when I return to Jauhar." That was all he really could do when it came down to it. "So Isaris is still back in Jauhar then." He hummed for a moment before he said, "I'm sorry that the two of you are arguing, though I hope that you are able to make up. It's important to keep the family that you have." Even though it was scattered, with some of them unlikely to return. It was because of that very fact that he hoped his 'baby' brothers made nice. At the mention of what happened to him when he was younger he went wide eyed, "You're both alright, yes? You weren't hurt while you were in their grasp?" He asked, stepping closer, looking his brother over, his eyes filled with worry. Even if the matriarch was nice what about the others? Had they hurt either of his brothers before the women got to them?

Issaly blinked as he thought about it. "I understand, brother." he smiled at the other. He chuckled. "Isaris got sick for a few days but that was settled. No, neither of us were hurt. Isaris has scars, but I don't remember him getting them while we were with that family...I don't remember much beyond a cage." He winced a little as a tail brushed his leg. He looked down at the scar then looked back up to his elder. Hands waving as he tried to frantically explain. "This...ah this wasn't by the Obans! This was by a really mean Witu out in Tale...that's where I'm living right now." he blinked. "Incanthis, its okay for two guys to like each other like parents do right?" He realized that question came randomly out of the blue, but he just had to ask.

Incanthis found himself thinking over that, then slowly nodded. That they weren't hurt in the process was a good thing... though he found himself wondering about Isaris's scars. Not that it was exactly his place to probe about such information. If something had happened to his little brother he might not wnat to talk about it... and it seemed that Issaly was too young at the time to really recall anything. At one of the beasts that followed his baby brother drew attention to his leg and the scars upon it he found himself starring for a moment. His brother explained it as being from a really mean witu. He hadn't really even thought of those beasts for a while, not having met with any himself in his youth since he spent his life in Jauhar before being taken away to Oba. He did know them to be ornery and quick to bite though... so he felt it was likely the truth of the matter and not something that Issaly was trying to cover up, right? He didn't have much longer to consider such a thing though as Issaly was suddenly asking him if was okay for guys to like each other. A question that instantly had his cheeks and ears burning before he said, "I-I really h-hope so...and so long as it's a good guy!" The last bit added in quickly as he didn't want his little brother to fall for any dead beats or mean people.
