Senshi cell phones and upgraded knight rings beeped with alarm, displaying an on-screen map of two converging Chaos signatures. The source came from a dismal stretch of neighborhood where a derelict circle K convenience store crowned the street, and an adjacent abandoned lot grew unruly with weeds. The location offered a host of nooks and crannies for powering up or powering down, whether behind a dumpster or down one of the many semi-inaccessible passageways spidering behind the convenience store.
For as small and impersonal as the app-based signal was, it held promise of making a stand against the oppression that so dogged them each and every day. It offered a chance to rake themselves from the mud of constant defeats and wrench from the Negaverse one of their own.
Perhaps, if they worked together, good would triumph yet again. That they could spit in the face of their Dystopian Futures.
For any who dared to approach, the number of Chaos signatures displayed on the SOS beacon slowly increased. Scylla's location on the phone wasn't retreating. HELP flashed in bold letters above the troubling map. The app beckoned for attendance, but who would arrive to assist her?
And the Negaverse had its own answer to the Order dilemma:
The Negavese knew rebellion, defiance, immiscibility. It knew each of these obstacles intimately. But they were each trifles in the face of its power, and if one particular knight would not capitulate to the demands it issued, then it would simply override his willpower.
A time-tested tradition, corruption was. A simple matter of a hand through skin and meat and bone to touch the starseed offering paltry powers. A touch of chaos, and defiance is no more. Rebellion ceases.
And, frankly, the Negaverse tolerates no immiscibility.
In tandem with Scylla's desperate call, surrounding communications crystals flared to life with crackling orders from the Generals involved - Cinnabar and Schörl. The command was simple - come, overwhelm, and dominate. Display the grandeur of the Negaverse over hewn teeth and broken bones. Opposition would come, but the Negaverse would not recede without declaring the futility of resistance - without marking a troublesome knight as a general.
They would not lose.

OOC
While this is a fairly straightforward dice-influenced battle ORP in which both Negaverse and anti-Negaverse sentiments clash, there remain factors that set it apart from the rest. It will run from March ~3rd to March ~11th at its lengthiest.
In this ORP, participants are fighting to determine the final alignment of Scholomance through a number of potential solutions. Participation by players are what determines the outcome of this ORP. Potential conclusions include:
A nonviolent persuasion in which an agreement is met An ending in which Schörl and Cinnabar are defeated and Scholomance remains Order An ending in which Scholomance and Scylla are defeated and Scholomance becomes Cuspidine A persuasion ending in which other members are corrupted in Scholomance's stead ???
Participants are guaranteed a battle requirement so long as they post 500 words - even if they do not actually raise a hand against an opponent (this is due to the proximity value of ORPs in which fighting occurs). They are also guaranteed some influence in the end path of Scholomance. And, potentially, they may sideswap themselves, or do something else supremely valuable. Please remember that sideswapping does necessitate a PM to the mule and approval of said PM before the corruption may ensue. Corruption will therefore occur in a separate RP to give all parties adequate time to prepare for the end result. If this route is chosen, Infinities has volunteered to purchase one piece of alt art for the resultant corruption(s) in a raffle!
As always, creativity is highly valued. Think about your surroundings, about your actions, about other participants, and you'll be rewarded thusly.
As a final note, I've worked the plots out enough that I will enjoy Scholomance's future, whether he corrupts or possibly transcends. Since I reached this fortunate position, I wanted to open the influence to others so that they can exercise legitimate influence over the fate of another character. I hope that all potential participants enjoy themselves and take home something new to plot with!

Dice Mechanics: Stats
This battle uses dice mechanics in a fairly experimental manner. Characters receive a stat pool based on their rank and may distribute those points among HP, attack, or defense. This is so character stats can better reflect the unique type of character. Hopefully this experimental model will prevent the battle from ending too quickly or taking too long.
Dice mechanics can be affected by RP items won in raffles.
If your character is a noncombatant, your ATK stat will be switched to PER (persuasion), which will allow your character to execute diplomatic actions within the ORP. I will explain the abilities of this stat when the ORP opens.
Specifics addressing each character type can be found beneath the spoilers. If you have questions regarding dice mechanics and how they work, please ask either here in thread or PM me!
For Senshi (WM, DM, Negaverse):
Basic senshi receive 10 stat points and 100 HP. Super senshi receive 15 stat points and 150 HP. Eternal senshi receive 20 stat points and 200 HP.
Senshi receive no extra bonuses for weapons as they are unarmed.
Senshi may spend their stat points into:
ATK, which determines how hard they can hit another character DEF, which determines how much damage they can reduce HP, which determines how much damage they can take, and increases in a 1:10 ratio
For example, Sailor Orcus is a basic senshi that starts with 10 stat points and 100 HP. She spends 5 stat points into ATK for a total of 5 ATK. She spends 4 stat points into DEF for a total of 4 DEF. She spends 1 stat point in HP for a total of 110 HP (100 base + 10 added).
Magic is a different beast entirely, so there are no stats to govern magic use but the ones written into the character's approved profile. Explanations on how stats and magic affect battle will come when the ORP opens!
For Knights:
Pages receive 10 stat points, +1 ATK or DEF, and 100 HP. Squires receive 15 stat points, +2 ATK or DEF, and 150 HP. Knights receive 20 stat points, +3 ATK or DEF, and 200 HP.
If your weapon is offensively oriented, your character receives their listed bonus to ATK. If the weapon is not offensively oriented, your character receives their listed bonus to DEF.
Knights may spend their stat points into:
ATK, which determines how hard they can hit another character. DEF, which determines how much damage they can reduce. HP, which determines how much damage they can take, and increases in a 1:10 ratio.
For example, Mont Blonc is a squire that starts with 15 stat points and 100 HP. His weapon is not something he really uses to attack with, so he receives his 2 bonus stats in DEF. He then spends 5 points into ATK for a total of 5 ATK, 5 points into HP for a total of 200 HP (150 base + 50 added), and 5 points into DEF for 7 DEF (5 added + 2 bonus).
Magic is a different beast entirely, so there are no stats to govern magic use but the ones written into the character's approved profile. Explanations on how stats and magic affect battle will come when the ORP opens!
For Negaverse Agents:
Lieutenants receive 10 stat points, +1 ATK and 100 HP. Captains receive 15 stat points, +2 ATK and 150 HP. Generals receive 20 stat points, +3 ATK and 200 HP.
Half-youma do not have weapons and therefore do not receive bonus points to attack (unless specified in their profile that they have some organic equivalent of a weapon).
Agents may spend their stat points into:
ATK, which determines how hard they can hit another character. DEF, which determines how much damage they can reduce. HP, which determines how much damage they can take, and increases in a 1:10 ratio.
For example, Benitoite is a general that starts with 20 stat points, +3 ATK, and 200 HP. He then spends 10 points into ATK for a total of 13 ATK (10 added + 3 bonus), 5 points into HP for a total of 250 HP (200 base + 50 added), and 5 points into DEF for 5 DEF.
Each stage of agent receives a fixed stat for energy that will be explained at the start of the ORP. This energy largely affects youma summon and teleportation.

FAQ
Can cats be involved?
Yes! Regular cats and human form cats take the same stat distributions as a lieutenant (as their claws work for a weapon). Sailor cats take the stat distributions of a captain.
When does this event take place ICly?
Thursday, March 9th, around 10PM!
My senshi carries a mundane weapon around every time they power up. Why can't they get a stat boost?
Agents and knights receive a stat boost from their weapon because they are inherent to their stature as an agent or knight. They're magical in nature, so they get a boost. Senshi are not barred from taking their nonmagical weapons with them into the fight, but there's no stat benefit attached to these items - doing so would give rise to a lot of statistical complications if senshi started picking up all kinds of makeshift weapons along the course of the battle.

Daekie
Chibi senshi do not get bonuses to DEF, sorry! They are not as physically developed as other characters, being under the age of 14, so they don't really warrant a DEF boost.
Name: ‘Kairatos of Mars'. Rank: Third HP: 250 ATK +13 DEF: +5 Kai’s net is kind of versatile in the right hands but mostly he hits people with it.. so... I put the 3 points there
Taking a Chance
Name: ‘Imperiatrix of Tattoos'. Rank: First HP: 170 ATK 2+ DEF: 1+ She’s going to be following Phact Hey: It says no weapons for Senshi but a few characters canonically tend to carry items, like Imperiatrix's baseball bat, and Sabine's maglight, and icly have reasons to have them with them. How are we supposed to handle that?
