Artemis walked into the dining room expecting everyone to already be there seeing as how she was late. However as she scanned the dining hall she realized her family was nowhere to be seen, except for the cooks and servants. She noticed the head servant, Gavin setting her place. βGavin.β She said flatly as she waved him over. βYes my queen?β He replied as he stood with perfect posture. βWhy am I the first one here today? Was everyone else too busy for lunch?β She stared him down with a scowl. βNot to worry, my queen.β He stated calmly in spite of her malice. βThe king is on his way, and the young princess should be here soon.β Her face relaxed and she sighed heavily. Gavin pulled out her seat. βMilady.β Artemis took her seat, crossed her legs, and waited impatiently for her family.
Lir Looked around warily as he entered the dining hall and felt more than just a chill down his spine. There was a massive temperature drop as he entered. His breath clouded the air ahead of him as he saw his wife sitting at her usual spot with her typical cold expression. Though the only thing not normal was that they weren't all at the table before her, and she hated for anything to be out of routine. He smiled in the same way he would when she always got angry. "Hello dear, I apologize for not being at the table sooner, but I was fetching Mizuki from her room. Your training sessions can be quite tiring for a little girl." He said, knowing that not even an apology would placate her. Despite being cold enough to shiver, Lir continued to smile and hold steady as he sat down in his chair across the table from Artemis. The food had not come out of the kitchen yet, so there was little chance it was frozen. "How was your day? I've been dealing with issues coming from governors about wolves attacking villages, so I've been away from my desk most of the day." He talked, trying to change the subject in attempt to mitigate her anger.
Mizuki quietly approached the dining hall. Through her adventures of the day, she had allowed time to get away from her. Lunch time had crept up and her mother had arrived before any of the other family members. The princess did not need a clairvoyant to inform her of this chain of events. She needed only take notice of the lower temperature filling the air. In lieu of the circumstances, Mizuki decided it would be best to wait for the introduction of Pix to her parents. Her mother's moods were not to be taken lightly and they would already be starting on poor footing.
Stopping just outside of the hall, Mizuki took a moment to draw in a steadying breath. She was not necessarily afraid of her mother. But she was also not in the mood for a lecture, considering the training session earlier in the day. Placing a smile upon her features, the princess entered fully into the room where her parents were now seated. "Mother. Father." Mizuki greeted and curtsied to each in turn before finding her way to her usual spot at the table. One of the attendants pulled her chair out for her and then carefully tucked it underneath her when she sat. Folding her hands in her lap, she waited to see what would occur, taking hope in the fact that the food had not arrived yet.

However, she must eventually come up for air or risk drowning like anyone else. Though, depending on the severity of the problem, she can overexert herself and become fatigued to the point of immobility, sometimes even unconsciousness.
Water Cloak- Mizuki can encase her body in a cloak of water. It is undetectable to the naked eye or even to the touch, acting as a second skin of sorts. It is usually only utilized in fights where fire is being used as it provides a greater resilience against the opposing element. Fire can eventually harm her, but it takes an intense amount of heat and time to do so. While the cloak is strong against most elements, it does possess a weakness against sharp weapons and electricity. Things such as blades, arrows, and spears can pierce through the protection of the cloak to inflict harm.
Yosojutsu: Combat- Mizuki is proficient in elemental combat, being able to manipulate water, ice, and occasionally snow to do her bidding on a second's notice. Her proficiency in the elemental style of combat continues to grow with each passing year. However, as with all elements, there are some that can easily overpower her own. Electricity presents the greatest disadvantage to Mizuki in combat. Water being a natural conductor, electricity can pass through it with ease and inflict damage upon anyone or anything that water or its variants come into contact with. She has to be vigilant when fighting Electricity users so as not to sustain injury. Air, although not as difficult to counteract, possesses its own challenge. A user with advanced skills in air manipulation can block, evade, and even incorporate her own element into their attack.
Yami Umi- An enchanted sword that was given to Mizuki as a present from one of her family members. It holds the ability to purify any tainted source of water that it touches. Yami Umi, as the sword was named, can only purify through touch however, and it can only do so once in a day. If it were to be used more than that, then the sword itself could become tainted and expel the polluted water back into the world. Aside from this, the sword acts as a weapon for her use in combat.
The little Pixie struggled at first when it came to finding his way down to the dining area. Given Mizuki's locked door, Pix had to go outside to begin with, and that was just the start of his problems! After finding a way in through a window that seemed to be connected to a servants quarters Pix had to find his way to the actual room. And it seemed that every room he entered there was a person trying to catch him! It was very rude, but Pix didn't hold it against those people. They did make quite a mess though as Pix darted around each room, trying to get an idea of where he should go next.
But Pix wasn't clueless! After a few minutes Pix found the kitchen. And the kitchen was always connected to the eating places inside castles! And so Pix led the three maids that were following him around while waving assorted tools in the air (Pix assumed it was an odd water welcoming custom) into the kitchen. Pix didn't want to be rude by barging right into the dining room, so he took the time to buzz around the kitchen for a moment or so, causing a large ruckus characterized by lots of yelling and plenty of pots and pans scattering across the ground. Pix could only take this for a few moments longer though, and so he decided to fly into the dining room itself, letting out a long sigh of relief as he flew straight to Mizi to give her arm another small hug. "Hi Princess Mizi! You locked the door so I couldn't follow you down here! But its ok! I found a way and your helpful people eventually showed me where I needed to go!" Pix said quickly before glancing around at the two others at the table.
In a flash Pix was hovering in front of the male's face, which presumably belonged to her father, with a wide smile on his face. "Hi Mr. Mizi! Your daughter is very nice, and your house-castle is really big and fancy! Thank you for having me!" He said, offering a slight bow, obviously not understanding how names worked as he seemed to already be turning to head towards the Queen now.
The Pixie had planned to give the Queen a similar greeting to that of the King, but on his way there his ideas changed. He would fly up to the woman's stomach with great speed and would collide with her, letting what little momentum he had hit her as he wrapped his arms as far as they would go around the Queen, his little face starring straight up at her. "Hi Mrs. Mizi! You're awfully pretty! Is something wrong?"

Lir softened his expression for his daughters arrival, hoping to have at least lessened the impact of her tardiness on Artemis."Ah, Mizuki, there you are. I was just asking your mother how her day had went." As his daughter sat down he turned back towards his wife."See I knew she would be but a short time, now we can-" His sentence was interrupted by a clatter in the kitchen. A loud ruckus being made caused them all to turn towards the double doors as they opened and a small being shot through the air towards Mizuki.
The being appeared to be a pixie based on his small size and humanoid looks. The pixie spoke and called his daughter "Mizi" as well as explained his journey into the room with a very short summation of what Lir suspected to be a much bigger debacle than what the little creature made it sound. The servants working in the kitchen came into the room only to be shocked by what they saw.
The Pixie then flew towards Lir and gave compliments about the castle and Mizuki, as well as thanking him for having the pixie over as if he was invited. Lir couldn't say anything as for the first time in a long period of time, he was truly shocked. Where did this little creature come from and why was he acting so familiar? How did he get into the castle? Then Lir's expression turned into a mix of amazement and fear as the pixie flew towards Artemis, and made the biggest, and possibly the last, mistake of his life; The pixie gave her a hug. Suddenly the room got even colder, so Lir stood up from his chair, knocking it to the ground and used his water manipulation to quickly, but gently remove the pixie from his wife's abdomen and into his hand.
Lir had to play this carefully, without knowing who this pixie was or why he knew Mizuki, he had to somehow diffuse his wife's anger, calm himself down from the sheer surprise, gain information from the pixie, and maybe but not very likely, continue with lunch.
"Mizuki?" He asked with caution in his voice yet still managing a smile. "You didn't tell me you were having a friend over for lunch. Had I known, I would have had Gavin set another plate."
She stayed silent as her daughter walked in. She was definitely miffed about their tardiness. When she heard the noise in the kitchen her eyes narrowed on the doors. The pixieβs sudden presence made her eyes grow wide for just a moment. Her expression soured when the pixie hugged her. She looked down at him and her face twitched a little. A curtain of calmness swept over her face as if she had a devilish idea. Artemis suddenly cleared her throat. She tried to smile but it came off as sinister. βWhy...Hello! How did you ever find your way into my lovely~ home?β she sounded almost happy which meant she was on the verge of an absolute rampage.
However the poor little pixie had no idea of her true nature. Both her husband and daughter knew the pixie was in grave peril. βMy husband is right.β she said as calm as she could. βIf only she had told us I would have set a place for you. Please have a seat, and tell me all about how you meet my lovely daughter.β She pointed at the seat across from her daughter. βHold on, I'll get our butler to set a place for our wonderful guest. He's a little hard of hearing so I have to raise my voice. Sorry darling please cover your ears.β She kept up the facade of hospitality. βGAVIN!!!!!!!β she yelled. He ran in the room as fast as he could, and stood straight as a post. βYes my queen?β he asked. βPlease set a place for our surprise guest.β She smiled gently. "And please call me Artemis."

Yet the words would not come forth, and her mortification only grew with his next actions. After he had introduced himself to her father, the Pixie flew over to her mother, flinging his arms wide in a hug. Of all the unwitting errors to make, Pix had just committed the worst one imaginable. The Queen did not show affection, did not accept affection, especially not from strangers. No matter how charming or adorable they might be.
Fortunately, the King reacted in a swift manner and transported Pix into his own hand. Mizuki breathed an inward sigh of relief. The situation was far from resolved, however, and Pix was far from safe. Her mother had clearly been angered by the events. A drop in temperature and her forced hospitality spoke to such things. Mizuki would need to tread carefully to prevent harm from coming to Pix. With a bow of her head, she spoke clearly and with an apologetic tone. "My deepest apologies, Mother, Father. I had intended to introduce my friend to you when a more appropriate opportunity arose." The cerulean-haired teenager peered imploringly up at her parents. "Please, do not be angry with him. He intends no harm here."

Pix was enjoying his hug with the Queen. She seemed to have stiffened up a little at first, but soon after she seemed to relax and grow incredibly friendly! It was wonderful! But it seemed that his hug had lasted too long, because before long he found himself being pulled away softly, eventually ending up sitting in the hand of the King, moisture coating his body in a very thin layer. He tilted his head curiously, confused as to why he was pulled off before smiling widely once more. After all, who could be anything but happy with such glowing hospitality! Especially from the Queen!
The Pixie stood up on the man's hand, shaking his wings rapidly to remove the mist of water that covered them before fluttering into the air over the table. "Thank you Mrs.- I mean Artemis! I'm very grateful!" He said happily in an almost sing song like voice as he floated over to the chair in front of the newly set tableware.
Pix wasn't really listening to Mizi as he began to prepare his spot at the table. After all, it was very kind of them all to set him a place, but these items were much too large! And so the Pixie decided he would fix that problem! The first target was his chair. He flew up to the top of the back rest and put both hands on it, focusing hard and puffing out his cheeks before he and the chair vanished with a 'POP' and a spray of pixie dust. A few moments later the very same Pixie would come flying up back onto the table with a very familiar looking chair. The difference? Well now it was Pixie sized! The Pixie took the next few minutes to shrink, or teenify, as he liked to call it, all of the tableware that was set for him, making each and every piece the perfect size for his small form. And then he realized he didn't have a table! And so Pix flew off to the far side of the room where a single small table with a vase on top sat. First he shrunk the vase, and then the table, before carrying both up and setting them up as well. When it was all said and done Pix had a very nice little set up on the big table, complete with a table, chair, all of the tableware needed, and the vase to top it all off. Pix took a seat in the shrunken chair, proud of his work as he sat up straight, his happy smile still plastered to his face as he tipped his head back and forth, humming lightly as he shifted silverware from place to place on the table, trying to find the perfect spot for the tiny fork.
And then all at once Pix gasped. "OH! I'm so sorry Arty! I didn't mean to ignore your question! I met Ms. Mizi out in the city! I was taking some gold from some of those big fancy stands with the angry people in them and I saw her pretty hair so I asked her if she wanted to play a game! And then the guards started to chase after us so we ran through the alleyways and eventually made it back to the castle so everything was okay!" Pix said happily, his wings fluttering a little in excitement as he rocked back and forth in his chair. Secrets really weren't something Pix was good at, but he didn't seem to mind. His little form was still happy as ever, his smile just as strong as it was before as he began to hum a happy tune, his legs swinging back and forth under the tiny table.
Artemis watched the pixie smile and flutter about. It became painfully clear that he had no idea what was going on. She sighed to herself cooling herself down a bit. She focused her gaze towards her daughter as she apologized, but said not nothing. She then turned her attention towards her new, and uninvited guest when he spoke to her. Regardless of her cold, and uninviting gase the pixie took his seat.
The pixie was completely in his own little world. The queen found some type of genuine amusement out of the pixies tinkering. She watched him flutter about, and shrink things down to match his tiny size. β I truly hope he can return things back to their regular sizeβ¦.β She thought to herself. Just then the pixie spoke up.
The queen physically cringed when she heard him call her Arty. She was about to correct him, when she could have sworn she heard him say her daughter went into town. She wasn't scheduled for an outing today. That thought ran through her mind over and over. It had been a while since she last snuck out. βGavinβ¦β She gave a look to Lir commanding him to take action. βGet me a glass of wine.β
Lir didn't know what to think of this.His daughter sneaking out of the castle without an escort, meeting a pixie who happens to be a thief, then bringing him back to the castle where he makes a ruckus, interrupts lunch, irritates Artemis, and shrinks things. Well at least it isn't boring, but Lir was slowly losing his own patience.
Artemis had Gavin bring her a drink, which meant she was planning on not killing the pixie, at least not yet. Knowing that their daughter was going to have to be punished for sneaking out, he glanced at Artemis as she shot him a look. "Mizuki, I hope you do remember that you aren't to leave the castle without an escort. I could maybe believe your guard was with you, but he reports, or is supposed to anyway, when you leave. I will have a talk with you later on your replacement bodyguard." Lir looked at the little pixie, dancing in his chair and humming a tune. "Little friend, my name is Lir, you have already met the rest of us. Pray tell, what is your name?" He asked as he picked up his chair and sat back down.

She could only hope that her mother heard her plea and that everything would take a turn for the better. Surely Pix will remember his promise... The revelation felt like a punch in the stomach to the princess who stared back at him with widened eyes.

Mizuki had taken full advantage of the situation, choosing her times carefully for when she wished to be free of the castle and its duties. I suppose it was only a matter of time. The princess sighed inwardly. I should have been more clear about from whom I wanted to keep the secret of my excursions...

Pix was having a wonderful time! It had been such a long time since he had been offered the opportunity to share a fine meal with such kind people! The Queen was so inviting, the King seemed like a kind man, and Mizi was such a wonderful friend! He could feel the vibe in the room shift slightly as he told the story of how Pix met the Princess, but he ignored it for the most part. After all, Pix thought it was a fairly exciting story himself! And so of course there would be a shift in tone!
After ignoring the conversation about Mizi not being allowed to leave the castle Pix overheard the King, or Lir, as his name turned out to be, asked his own name. Pix offered a smile and nodded quickly, although he wasn't completely sure why. After all, it most certainly wasn't a yes or no question. "Pix! My name is Pix! I know it doesn't sound original but I don't know a single other Pixie named Pix!" The Pixie exclaimed, smiling brightly once more before finally noticing a negative vibe coming from Mizuki.
Pix acted quickly, fluttering up out of his chair whilst reaching for one of the many flowers in the tiny vase that sat on the tiny table in front of his tiny form. He quickly darted across the table, setting the flower down on the table in front of the Princess before flying off to grab another one. He would do this four times, and after a few seconds of a flower not being touched by the Pixie it would grow to the size of that of a normal flower.
After four fully grown flowers sat in front of the Princess Pix landed a few inches behind them, looking up at Mizuki's face with a curious expression as he waited to see if his attempts would have any effect. If not, Pix would just have to find something more valuable to offer up.
The queen sat in silence contemplating her daughters punishment. Everytime she snuck out she risked a possible exposure. The man that had attacked her daughter years ago crept into her mind, perhaps it was time for an adult talk. One about her future duties as queen, the many hardships that came with running a country, and ensuring your family's safety. Gavin came back with her glass and gently placed it on the table. βHere you are Madam.β
Artemis picked up her glass and took a sip of wine. Her eyes shifted between all of her table guest. Regardless of how angry she was before, she now felt nothing but disappointment. She had lost her appetite, and had finally settled on her daughter's punishment.
The main kitchen doors opened, and the waiters lined the table with dish after dish. Everything smelled delicious and look fantastic. The queen finished her glass and set it down. She suddenly stood up and looked at Gavin. βGavin. Put Mizuki's plate away, I also want you to put mine away.β She turned to her daughter. βMizuki...we have some things that need attending to. I want you to meet me at the pool now.β She then turned her attention to Pix and Lir. βYou boys can have fun in here, please eat to your heart's content.β
The tension in the room had steadily grown throughout the course of lunch. It was so palpable that it penetrated every corner of the room. Mizuki had well and truly lost her appetite now, concerned for what might yet be to come. Pix, as she was slowly learning, remained cheerfully oblivious to the moods around him. The princess did not dare to look up but could practically feel the excitement fluttering from the Pixie's tiny frame. His voice ringing with delight at the chance to officially introduce himself.
Mizuki withdrew into herself a little more upon hearing the cheerful sentiment. She did not truly blame the Pixie for revealing her whereabouts to her parents. It was her own fault for placing so much trust into a stranger. But her desire for a friend and want for normalcy had lead them here. Now it was simply a matter of dealing with the consequences, whatever they might be. Pix, for his part, must have finally noticed a change in Mizuki's demeanor. For he brought her four flowers and set them in front of her on the table, then taking up residence just inches away and staring up at her. Not wishing for him to be concerned, the princess peered up at him and forced as genuine a smile as she could upon her features.
"Ah, thank you, Pix. They are lovely." She spoke softly as she picked one up. The teenager twirled the stem between her fingers for a moment, continuing to smile at the Pixie. Her expression flinched slightly, however, when her mother's voice rang out across the room. "As you wish, Mother." Mizuki gently set the flower back with the others and stood from her seat. "Pix," she gestured to the delicious smelling food. "Enjoy the meal with Father. The chefs are wondrous cooks." Turning to her father, the girl curtsied her farewell then followed after her mother, uncertain of what punishment lay in wait.

Things such as blades, arrows, and spears can pierce through the protection of the cloak to inflict harm.
Yosojutsu: Combat- Mizuki is proficient in elemental combat, being able to manipulate water, ice, and occasionally snow to do her bidding on a second's notice. Her proficiency in the elemental style of combat continues to grow with each passing year. However, as with all elements, there are some that can easily overpower her own. Electricity presents the greatest disadvantage to Mizuki in combat. Water being a natural conductor, electricity can pass through it with ease and inflict damage upon anyone or anything that water or its variants come into contact with. She has to be vigilant when fighting Electricity users so as not to sustain injury. Air, although not as difficult to counteract, possesses its own challenge. A user with advanced skills in air manipulation can block, evade, and even incorporate her own element into their attack.
Yami Umi- An enchanted sword that was given to Mizuki as a present from one of her family members. It holds the ability to purify any tainted source of water that it touches. Yami Umi, as the sword was named, can only purify through touch however, and it can only do so once in a day. If it were to be used more than that, then the sword itself could become tainted and expel the polluted water back into the world. Aside from this, the sword acts as a weapon for her use in combat.
