Castiel was excited to see his sister. She had to be his favourite sibling, and it saddened the boy to know that he wasn't able to spend as much time as he would like with Hasina. Castiel and Hasina lived in two different houses, and technically, the two were not blood related. Hasina was the daughter of Castiel's second father, Aten. Castiel, however, was the son of Cassie and Smolder. It had always made Castiel wonder if family was really the strongest bond one could have, or if there was truly something stronger than a blood connection.
While Castiel called Hasina his 'sister', he didn't really view her that way. She was his best friend, The two were as thick as thieves at school, and their teachers had a hard time separating the two. They always chose one another for school projects, lucky enough to be in the same classes, and often spent their free time together discussing and gossiping about things.
The door bell rang, and Castiel perked right up. Hopping to his feet and running to the door, Castiel whizzed past his father and grabbed for the door handle and whipped the door open.
"Hasinaaaa!"

Hasina was full of butterflies. Her favorite time of day was when she got to spend time with Castiel. She didn't get to go over to his house very often, usually only when her parents were having a play date (what an odd thing to say?), but Hasina was almost glad that Castiel and herself were not actually siblings. Siblings were annoying. You couldn't get rid of your siblings no matter how hard you tried. The younger ones cried and made a mess, and the older ones always harassed you to do more chores or picked on you. Castiel was not like a sibling. Hasina didn't really believe in having a 'best friend', but Castiel was probably as close as it got ...
"Cas!" Hasina hugged her friend as they leaped in to their arms. There was nothing better than being hugged by someone you trusted.

Castiel didn't wait a moment longer before dragging Hasina in to the house, Burvia stepping inside and greeting Smolder with her usual charming ways. Castiel wanted to drag Hasina as far away from adult ears as possible so the two could have their time together guilt free. Slamming his bedroom door behind them, running them over to his bed and flopping down on it with a happy giggle.
"I'm so glad you're here! I was so bored before you got here! What did you want to do? What did you want to talk about? We can do anything, maybe even go outside and go exploring!"

Castiel was running so fast through the house that Hasina was having a hard time keeping up. The air cutting around their bodies was making the fur on Hasina's tail ruffle gently, and her curly hair -- she knew -- was going to poof right out by the time they stopped.
With a loud slam of the door, Hasina finally felt able to breathe. Castiel was giggling on the bed, Hasina was lying next to him, trying to catch her breath.
So many questions already. That's what she loved about Castiel. There was never a lull of boredom with him around. "Bored? You? That seems so bizarre to me ... you have such an active imagination." Hasina paused for a moment, her small lips pursing gently. "I'd rather not go outside today, if it's all the same to you ... it's frightfully cold out ... "

"Cold? COLD!? Hasina, look at all that fur you have! Why not just wrap your tail around yourself to keep warm! If I can go outside in shorts on a day like this, you can go outside fully clothed with a fluffy tail!" there was a happy, pleased smile on Castiel's face as the boy popped himself up on to his bottom with a small squeak of the springs of the bed.
"What do you say? Come adventuring with me! Who knows what we'll find today!" Castiel's eyes were almost glittering with excitement, hoping and praying that Hasina would indulge him.

The corner of Hasina's lips turn downward as she frowned a little. She was just feeling so lazy today ... the temperature outside really had nothing to do with not wanting to go outside. Although ...
"Shorts? Really, Cast? That's weird, even for you! What, do you have fire thumping through your veins? You should freeze the instant you step outside. Or are you developing superpowers you never told me about?" Hasina was kidding of course. There was no way that Castiel could develop superpowers --- rather, that anybody could. Magic was about as close as Nightmares and Daydreams alike got to 'superpowers' ... well ... except for necromancers, but heaven forbid if Hasina brought that up. Her mother Burvia got pale in the face enough as it was at the very idea that Joselyn wanted to become one herself, despite all it would mean. Thankfully the Black Company wasn't exactly recruiting these days.

Castiel couldn't help but to laugh at that. Fire? Thumping through his veins? Now, that would be interesting! It seemed far more likely his litter mate Pyre would possess such an ability. Castiel always figured that if he developed some sort of innightmare attributes that it would be light based. He was, after all, given a name that basically meant angel of light.
"Fire? No, no, Hasina! I think that's you! You're the one with a temper, after all!" Castiel winked at her, giving a small chortle. He knew his friend wouldn't take offense.

Hasina's ears perked a little at that. Temper? Temper? Was he talking about that encounter that Hasina had with her brother Skye? Could Castiel really call that being temperamental? Skye was infuriating, and a stalker, and to make it that much worse Aten favoured him. Hasina's teeth ground together, trying to let the anger seep away before offering a strained laugh. "Aaahaa ... yaaah. Teeeemper, right. I do have one of those, sure, yes, right." Hasina sat upright herself, her tail thumping against the bedding with a rather dull sound. Her ears were pulled back like an angry cat, and her face was all scrunched up. Hasina wasn't making a convincing argument.

Castiel paused. Uh-oh ... he ... had offended her, hadn't he? This ... was something Castiel was not expecting. Hasina was one of those people that when they were upset -- no matter what kind of upset -- that really just sucked all the joy out of the room.
The boy's wings' sagged. Now he'd gone and done it. How was he supposed to turn this one around. Castiel tried his best, giving a wide smile and taking Hasina's hand. "C'mon, girly! Turn the frown upside down and let's get some fresh air! It'll be good for us!"
Castiel didn't give her much choice. Grabbing her hands, Castiel once again tugged the hybrid along. He'd make her forget her troubles, one way or another!

Hasina sighed. Castiel really was a good friend. The fallen had barely hesitated at Hasina's sudden turn of mood and was ready to distract her with something far more light-hearted than her own problems. Hasina wasn't entirely sure what she had done to win the boy's friendship, but Hasina wasn't going to complain or question it. A world without Castiel's companionship was a world Hasina didn't cared to think about.
A small smile replacing the scowl that had one been on Hasina's lips, the girl gladly held hands with Castiel and let the boy lead her off to another adventure.
