Quote: Sailor Sinope wandered around the park at dusk, allowing his mirrorwraith to roam freely as it darted through couples and lovers taking walks together or sitting and enjoying each other’s company. The people there at this time of day, Sinope found, were usually so immersed in their own thoughts that they hardly noticed anyone else, let alone a barely-visible wraith going about draining small amounts of energy.
The Dark Mirror Senshi couldn’t understand it. While his wraith went around, he watched the people and shook his head in pity. Why did emotions like these make people so stupid; so completely unaware of their surroundings? Love really did turn people into fools. They robbed one of important sensibilities like selfishness, wasting away their time dwelling on another. Idiots claiming they would put themselves in harm’s way for the one they loved; even die - wasn’t that going against the main law of nature and one’s natural instincts to survive no matter the cost?
The way the teenager saw it, people either spouted such nonsense without knowing the full weight of what they were saying or they really were that moronic. Regardless of the case, people in love or who thought they were in love sickened Sinope. It was better being alone when you only had to worry about yourself. It was also easier to guard oneself against those who would take advantage of vulnerable, sentimental individuals. People that meant the most to you were the ones who had the most power over you; the ability to wound you the deepest with their words and actions. That was why Sinope made sure not to get too close to anyone - as a senshi or otherwise. Quote: The nights were starting to get cooler as autumn slowly drifted into the city and brought with it cooler breezes, cooler nights, and soon the leaves would start to turn color. The smell of fireplaces, a smell he’d never encountered till moving here, would fill the air in some harmonious masterpiece created by the many hands owned by those who lived within said masterpiece. Fall was a time of year for rich colors and scents. But it wasn’t all here - not yet. The leaves hadn’t turned and he couldn’t smell fireplaces when he went by the normal houses in the city, since he lived in an apartment building. Coats weren’t worn nor were scarves, though sweatshirts and hoodies were becoming a thing now.
He had gone shopping earlier for Halloween decorations, like he had last year, he was excited for the holiday and being able to celebrate it again. That had been earlier and those items, still in the bags from the store, were at home. It was late and he was out as Venice, alone, with his hands in his pockets as he made his way into the city park. Shivering a bit at the cool breeze, he would have to start bringing a hoodie with him to pull over his vest, Venice was patrolling as he did often.
He was, as usual, alone though he knew that was not the brightest thing when he was still a page. But he didn’t want to always have Erebus with him, he could handle himself, and he needed to get out on his own and hold his own and there was no way to do that with someone else at his side. He just had to hope he didn’t get in over his head, if he did he knew someone would find out and he’d be scolded by someone...or several someones. Shaking his head, to rid himself of the thoughts, he continued on and only paused when he felt something. Well...that didn’t feel good. Quote: Was that a different energy signature? The Dark Mirror Senshi raised a brow as he sensed the source getting nearer and nearer. He knew for certain it wasn’t his mirrorwraith and it seemed so different from his own. Uh oh; this could have meant trouble. Whomever it was or whatever it was might have sensed him first and determined him to be an enemy. Maybe it planned on destroying him with the element of surprise as an advantage.
That wouldn’t do. Sinope knew he was no good at physical combat and as a new senshi, he was just starting to get the hang of what he could do. However, this signature didn’t seem that much more powerful than him. Maybe there was no need to run. Perhaps he could reason with whomever or whatever it was. The Dark Mirror Court, as far as Sinope knew, had no official enemies, after all.
When he caught sight of the energy source, however, the teenager was dumbfounded. The stranger didn’t look like any combatant he’d ever seen. Who is this clown? he wondered, regarding the figure from head to toe. They certainly appeared flashy enough to have passed as some performer from a circus. That, or maybe a character from an Alice in Wonderland play. Were those heart symbols all over him? They patterned his vest, dangled as metal charms from his decorative waist chain, embellished his shoes, and adorned the ribbon at his throat. Suddenly Sailor Sinope wasn’t so concerned.
“Are you for real?” was all he could manage, his hazel eyes finally falling upon the feather duster in the stranger’s hand. As if the guy couldn’t have looked any weirder. Quote: Well, that was new, but not unexpected. He’d had a few questions in the past leveled at him, as well as some looks, and he was sure they could all be blamed on his uniform. He wasn’t a huge fan of some aspects of it either - the vest being one of them. He really was hoping for something warmer before winter hit...last winter had not been fun. He’d sought as much warmth from others as he could when out, and even that hadn’t helped enough.
Rolling his dark eyes Venice tilted his head and stared at the other. Oh how many ways he could answer that question, some of them though weren’t...appropriate while others would test his English skills some. But honestly why bother? The most simple answer was the best in this case. “Yes.”
He was for real, he was a page, and his uniform was indeed decorated in hearts - a lot of them. He knew it looked odd, and when compared to the other Ganymede knights he likely had more hearts decorating his uniform than any one of them and likely more than them all combined...due in part to the pattern of his vest of course. Quote: Sinope was still somewhat dumbfounded, but the lack of explanation from the answer he received disappointed him. He had never seen anyone from a Knight faction before so the only way he could even tell the person in front of him was even a powered being was from their energy signature. “Uh...okay, so...I’m guessing you’re not a senshi...right?” Even if he was, there was still no way Sinope could be sure the person wasn’t an enemy. Heck, for all he knew, the person might not even have been male.
“Sorry, I’m a little new to all this,” he admitted, chuckling sheepishly, though he knew to say so was probably a mistake. If this person did, indeed, mean him harm, admitting he was inexperienced would mean confessing that he was an easy target. Sinope knew that to obtain information he wanted sometimes took risks, though, and he was confident enough to take the necessary risk to find out where he stood with this newcomer. “I’m Sailor Sinope; a Dark Mirror Senshi. Who’re you?” Quote: “No, am not senshi - a knight...of Ganymede.” He answered before it was his turn to look the other over. He’d heard of dark mirror senshi but knew nothing about them, he couldn’t remember running into a dark mirror senshi ever either. They were senshi, obviously, but what made them different from the other two sides? This one felt different but...what was different other than that?
“Never met a dark mirror senshi...what is different between corrupted and dark mirror?” He did want to know and maybe, although new, this one had some idea...or could tell him about dark mirror senshi? “Can explain to me about dark mirror senshi?” Quote: “What’s Ganymede?” the redhead asked, scratching his head, perplexed. “Aren’t knights supposed to have armor or something? Or are you just special?” Similarly, Sinope had heard of knights, but he still didn’t quite understand what they were in terms of powered beings or how they were different from senshi. ‘Ganymede’ didn’t sound like any sort of sphere he’d heard of before.
“Well I’ve never met a knight before, so we’re even,” Sinope said with a smile, folding his arms behind his head. “I don’t know too much about corrupt senshi since I haven’t met one of those yet, either, but from what I gathered, corrupt senshi are with the Negaverse. They’ve got chaos signatures the same as us, but their chaos is different. We’ve got our own court outside of the Negaverse. We don’t do things the same way the corrupt senshi do and we don’t have the same goals.” He shrugged. “We’re a pretty small group compared the the White Moon and the Negaverse, though, so not many people know about us; even the more experienced ones.” Sleet Tempest Snape ((I am SO sorry; I thought I'd responded to this, but I only just realized your post was the last one made, not mine. "Ganymede is moon of Jupiter. There is Sailor Ganymede..." So he sort of served her, although not really. He didn't know Ganymede that well at all and he certainly didn't take orders from her, didn't try and do things for her or anything else. "Knights uniforms fit where they are from." As far as he knew from the ones he'd met and seen. There were common themes. He didn't want to say they fit the senshi who owned them, as they weren't owned plus he didn't know about Pluto and Jupiter and other planets like that. He had no idea of those senshi, if there even were senshi from those planets.
It wasn't too bad being even at least, both not knowing about the other. That was perhaps a good thing. Hearing about corrupt senshi he nodded his head slowly, accepting that. It made sense and that there were two different sorts of chaotic senshi with different courts and different...everything, or so he assumed.
"Maybe a good thing..makes unpredictable and hard to figure..." And that could be good for the court, it meant there moves were hard to figure by possible enemies. Though it also meant no one knew what their motives were, which could help them but also gain them enemies. Kitomyx That's fine. Hopefully we can finish this soon.

"Oh. Uh, okay." So Ganymede was a sailor scout, then? He wondered what their sphere was and why there were Knights serving them. At least it sounded like he was serving them, introducing himself as 'a knight of Ganymede'. Presumably, then, the heart-like symbol this fellow wore was Ganymede's. "So...you're from a moon of Jupiter...?" Maybe that explained his fashion sense...?
Laughing bitterly, Sinope nodded at the guy's comment, but he answered, "That's true, but people aren't generally comfortable with things they don't understand. Sometimes they just attack first and ask questions never. Plus since we're smaller than either the White Moon Court or the Negaverse, we're really at a disadvantage if either of them decides to go after us. We have no official enemies that I know of, but no official allies, either."
He waved a hand to gesture up and down the length of the other man's outfit. "But...why all the hearts?"Sleet Tempest Snape ((Apologies for the wait again ^_^; ))

"Ancestor was...descended from them. No and yes then." Since he wasn't from there but an ancestor was so his blood? maybe. He knew his ancestor had been born in Korea, like he himself had been, but what about any child they'd had? It was a bit hard to think about because it dealt with magic and a family tree and going back around a thousand years. Someone in his family had been born here and gone up there to serve...but who had they had a child with? Someone from Korea or someone from Ganymede? Where had they been raised and how had they returned to earth? Or his family line?
"Is good and bad being small. Hard to find members...easy to gang up on though. Seems more neutral you are than anything." Maybe now in how they felt but it seemed in their position in this whole mess they were neutral. "Might help being in smaller group as you are. Less notice...maybe help to survive." If they weren't noticed or thought of much, due to their lack of size, it might help? Though like he'd said they had no allies really...which wasn't good. Though it meant no official enemies either. They were in a bad position, in a way at least.
"Ganymede's symbol. Her sphere is lust..." Hence his uniform made sense and the symbol did as well - it made a lot of sense.

It occurred to Sinope that the knight might not have spoken much for reasons other than being a man of few words. His broken and incomplete sentences seemed to support the idea that perhaps the stranger wasn't very well-versed in the English language. Perhaps he shouldn't have been interrogating him so much for answers, but there was still so much he didn't understand. And at least the other powered being seemed to understand him well enough.
"Yeah, that's true," he agreed in regards to the advantages and disadvantages of his court. "And that's right. I try not to side with either group much either way. Definitely easier to survive and not get beat up." Sinope moved to circle the page, grinning when he asked, "Sooo...what do you knights of Ganymede get called? Just 'Knight of Ganymede'? There's more than one of you though, right? And you can't all go by the same thing."
The information regarding Ganymede's sphere caused the Dark Mirror Senshi to stop in his tracks. He stared for a moment before exploding into laughter. "What?! he gasped when he could manage to speak, clutching his sides. "Lust?! Damn, how do you even - what - "
Between his trying to imagine what kind of magic the senshi might have wielded and trying to catch his breath, Sinope could hardly voice his questions. "No, no, wait - if that's her sphere and she's your senshi, does that mean it's your sphere, too? Hahahaha!" Plopping himself down on a park bench, he gasped, "So - so what magic do you have, then? Huh? Can you show me? Please?" There were tears of mirth in his eyes from laughing so hard when he looked up. "Is it like being really seductive or something?"

What else were they called? Did the other mean like a sphere? Or in his case, being a knight, his wonder? "Named for location - up there. Place down here also - thinks it's all of us." He really wasn't sure on that, since he had no way of knowing the name of every knight. Some might not have a name which was reflected somewhere on Earth, and was only up there in space, so he did watch what he said and decided to make sure that was said. He didn't want to generalize something when he really wasn't sure. "For me is Venice...." Actually...if he thought about it he'd never looked into just what Erebus was, if it was a place on Earth. Something to do once he got home for the night.
Watching the dark mirror senshi, his cheeks coloring, the knight shook his head. "No magic now...not till stronger - little bit more." When he became a squire, then he'd have magic. Until then he was without it...meaning he had to fight on his own. It sort of forced a knight to learn how to hold there own...which was a good thing, you couldn't rely on magic even senshi couldn't and shouldn't...though he figured a lot likely did - it was easy.
"Haven't seen her magic...." Had he ever even seen her in a fight? No..well sort of. It had been a big battle and he hadn't really been paying any attention to her or her magic, he'd been preoccupied by a lot of things- too many things.

"Both up there and down here?" the teen repeated, realizing the page must have meant both in space and on Earth. And by 'all of us', it seemed safe to assume he was referring to all knights of Ganymede if not all knights in general. "That's cool."
He blinked at the name given. "Venice?" Well, now it seemed to make more sense what he meant by both up there and down here. "Neat! Great to meet ya, Venice." It was kind of disappointing to hear that knights didn't have magic - at least not until later, it seemed - but at least it didn't sound like they were devoid of magic at all. Still, that brought up another question.
"If you don't have magic, how do you fight? You do fight, right?" Sinope was under the assumption that that was how Venice intended to get stronger in order to wield magic. It seemed kind of odd to him, though, that senshi had magic right off the bat while knights, who it sounded like were supposed to protect senshi, didn't. Speaking of senshi magic, he was also a little let down that Venice didn't know what Ganymede's did, but he supposed it couldn't be helped.Sleet Tempest Snape ((Sorry for the wait; meant to send this yesterday but didn't get the chance. >_>; ))

"We do fight - of course." This was a war so of course they had to, they just didn't have magic to use at the start of things. "Can't use magic though - not until Squire. Till then just item." His own, as he summoned it, was useless...and it likely meant other knight items were as pointless - which he figured many were.
"Don't know about others. Just mine...not a weapon. Have to fight on own...can't use this." Moving the feather duster to emphasize the item in his hand, and just how useless it would be in a fight. What he didn't know was Negaverse lieutenants were just as ill equipped in the beginning, that would be nice to learn as he wouldn't feel as useless and under powered.
"Learning martial arts so can fight for myself...because this - not helpful. Will get me killed." Or laughed at. Though perhaps, given his senshi's sphere, the item he held made some sense...and wasn't just a feather duster you'd use to clean your home with. That was just what the other figured when he'd learned what Ganymede's sphere was...his feather duster wasn't the sort you'd clean with...

"Huh. Just wondered because I noticed you haven't really tried to fight me yet," Sinope answered with a grin. Then he added quickly, "Not that I want you to. I have magic, but it's pretty much useless so I try to avoid getting into fights when I can. I pretty much suck at them." He shrugged. "Fun to start, though. And watch." His brow furrowed as something struck him as odd. "Wait, you said you were a knight, so why would you become a squire? Don't squires turn into knights?" Maybe it had something to do with the language barrier again.
He really needed to stop pestering this poor guy. Even in the dim park lights, it looked like Venice's face had flushed a bit earlier, but Sinope wasn't sure if that had been from embarrassment or something else. But all this information was just so fascinating and he was still in awe that someone could go into battle in such a strange outfit with...a feather duster of all things, and call himself a knight. Well, Sinope supposed he himself was supposed to be a sailor soldier, even if he looked nothing like one, so maybe it was like that. But that still didn't explain the duster.
"Yeeeeah...I can definitely see how just using that would get you killed," the teen laughed, studying the feather duster. "But if you can't use it, why do you even have it? Wouldn't it get in your way or be annoying to carry around?" Since no sailor scouts he knew carried anything around except their communicators and mirror shards, he didn't realize the object was related to Venice being a knight. Even if he had, he couldn't have made the connection to Ganymede's sphere because for all his knowledge and imagination, it hadn't occurred to Sinope in the slightest that a feather duster might be used for anything other than cleaning or decorative purposes.

"No need to fight...nothing wrong here - just talking." If there wasn't a reason to fight why fight? The other was chaos, he could feel it, but the other had already told him he wasn't one of those corrupted senshi. He was a dark mirror senshi so they weren't the same, though he didn't know if the end goals were the same or what they were. He knew the other, here and now, wasn't trying to fight him.
"Knight is what we are...knight is also a rank - not the same...difficult to understand." And it hadn't been that easy for him, since English was not a first language for him. Trying ti understand that he was a knight...but also not...that was a bit difficult to understand and make sense of.
"Is knight item...is summoned to power up...needed - like senshi pen." That was, as far as he knew, the best way to describe it to the other. Though he really did wonder why a feather duster, it wasn't suited to fighting with. Not only that but he lacked magic so he, and others of his rank, were at a disadvantage...a really big one...unless against a Lieutenant from the Negaverse."Think of Negaverse lowest rank - same here...bad item...only need ours to power up....maybe they do too?" He wasn't sure on that, and he didn't think he could ever ask one of them either as that might go badly. He really didn't think he'd get to have a conversation with one, much less ask them questions. "Can send it away once like this." Gesturing to his uniform. Once he was powered up he could banish the feather duster which was what he normally did as he had no use for it.
"Knight item fits sphere of planet..." Shrugging his shoulders a bit and watching the other.

"You say that, but I've met White Moon Senshi who say even just my energy signature feels wrong to them. So I appreciate your being civil. Uh...I'm thankful for your understanding," he rephrased, wondering if that choice of words would make a bit more sense.
In response to Venice's explanation regarding the term 'knight', Sinope nodded. It sounded like how a rectangle was a category that a square fell into, but also the category a rectangle fell into. The category of knight probably had subclasses like how senshi had subclasses of basic, super, and eternal. The term 'knight' must have also been used to describe one of those subclasses as well as the broader category. "Ohh...hehe. I get it now. Sorry for all the questions; it's just really cool to learn about you guys."
"Whooa...so your item can be anything? That's awesome," the redhead proclaimed. If someone saw a henshin pen and knew about senshi, they'd immediately know what it was. But if it could just look like an ordinary object, people might have them in plain sight and no one would ever know. If that was all they had to fight with, though, maybe it wasn't as convenient as he thought. Suddenly he was glad to have his magic, unhelpful as it seemed for the most part. At least it did something. "Knights must really have to have a lot of guts and fighting skills." If he thought he made a bad senshi, he probably would have made an awful knight.
The banishment of the duster caused the teen's brows to shoot up. "Nice! I guess at least that way if it's not useful in battle, it won't hinder you, either." His expression contorted into one of bewilderment when Venice mentioned that his item fit the sphere of his planet. What planet? Wait, the sphere would be lust, right? But then...how...? Maybe he was too young or he just didn't have enough imagination in that category, but Sinope just couldn't comprehend the connection. He scratched his head. "Uh...what does a feather duster have to do with lust?"
The moment he asked, however, he began to wonder if that had been an appropriate question and his face went beet red. He'd already asked way more than he'd meant to and that was mostly on the pretense of learning more about Knights, but the inquiry he'd just made didn't really pertain to that excuse. Not to mention he and Venice were practical strangers. Would Venice get mad at him for asking such a thoughtless and awkward question? "Er, I mean...you don't have to tell me if you don't want to..."

"Feels like chaos...but not like Negaverse...." It was different but similar. He wasn't surprised by the others words. That some might just attack based on the feel for it, on it feeling like chaos, even if it was a different chaos. "Need both good and bad in the world - for balance...can't have more or all of one and not the other....would throw off balance and not be good." So some forms of bad, or evil, were allowed. Chaos was a balance, right? Or at least should be...though the chaos spoken of in this war wasn't the same. That would be labeled as bad rather than chaos...if his side was good. If his side was good than the opposite side should be bad and chaos was the combination of both...a balance of them. So he didn't fit chaos, by definition really...it was confusing in a sense really.
"It is ok...it is confusing the ranks..." Even to him and he was a knight. It felt odd to call someone a knight and it be what they were but not their rank. But then to call someone a knight who was both...it made no sense.
"Maybe...some knights maybe not. Can't' fight well myself." Despite having the build for it, or at least the arms. He went to the gym and had some size and build to his arms...didn't mean he could fight. He was learning though - he had to. He had no magic to fall back on so he was doing his best. He just hoped he learned well and if he ever needed to actually put it to use that it would do it's job.
At the others question about his item and the sphere the knight took a step toward the other. He did seem a bit young...but really? He didn't have an imagination? For a moment the knight wasn't sure he should say anything but then decided to anyway. "Never seen maid costume for Halloween? Or thought of what feathers can be used for in bedroom with two people?" He questioned. How to out right give a kink talk to a teenager...this was not something he had ever done or considered. He wasn't a prude, far from it in fact, but this was very different for him.
"Feather and touch sensation in bedroom....feather duster also....not for dusting but touching...gently and slowly." His English while bad was a bit better, though he did skip over words and his accent was heavy. He made sure the other should get the idea of what he meant. "Lust....think." The other wasn't a child...he should be able to put this together now - right?

Sinope pointed a finger at Venice excitedly when he heard him speak of balance. "YES! Yes, that's exactly what I wish all these war-crazed idiots would figure out! They think we're weird for not being 'good' or 'bad', but what's wrong with being both or neither? And I mean people are never all one or the other even if there are those who think the Negaverse is completely 'evil' or the White Moon Court is completely 'good'." He heaved a deep sigh of relief.
"Maybe it's because we're in the United States that most people seem stuck in that western way of thinking, but at least some people like you get it! Since we're not with the Negaverse or the White Moon Court, people get confused about what the Dark Mirror Court is, but I like to think of it as a bit of both 'good' and 'bad' - like a balance." Gesturing, he elaborated, "We help people by occasionally fighting youma and exploring Mirrorspace for another place people can inhabit if the Earth dies. But we need to take energy from those people to do it; just not as much as the Negaverse takes."
"Hehe...you and me both," he murmured in response to not being able to fight well. At least he wasn't the only one. Maybe he'd look into learning some way to defend himself sometime. But that must have been awful for the poor page who didn't even have magic to utilize. Just his feather duster.
Speaking of the feather duster, Sinope was surprised to notice that, upon having asked his question regarding the knight's 'weapon', Venice had taken a step closer toward him. The question about if he'd seen a maid costume puzzled him somewhat, but the one about a bedroom with two people caught him completely off-guard. "Uhh...um...yes to the first, noooo to the second..." He hadn't really thought about doing anything with another person, to be honest. Sinope was determined not to get close to people even as friends, so even as a teenage boy, he had forbidden his mind from venturing anywhere even near the bedroom. He had more important thoughts to occupy himself with, like riddles and how to show off his cleverness.
He stared at Venice and began to smile awkwardly. "Oh...um...okay." As if his face hadn't been red enough before, he felt it burning now. "I...think catch your drift, but that's probably about as far as I want to think about...that. That, um...that's fascinating." Sinope couldn't look Venice in the eye. The redhead didn't even want to think about what the feather duster might turn into once the page grew in rank. "Thanks for, um...explaining."
