Eirlys sighed as she flipped through the pile of parchments before her. They were various letters that a few friends she met on the way along her life with Huyana sent her. The contents of the letters were all in reference to the new beasts she had heard of only through rumors. The female sat there in her new pearlesque and teal colored outfit, legs crossed as her shoulders were lax. Tapping a long nail on the desk she was sitting at she thought over the chance to find one for herself. The rumors were that a few of the newfound serpents had been spotted around. This was going to be her shot at one...or so she hoped. She shifted through the pages till she came to the map of the settlement and the surrounding area. It was a map one of her younger brothers had made, with a copy to each sibling just in case. They were in the process of creating more for her twins as well as Huyana and Valek. She chuckled to herself as Devi poked his head out from under her covers. The poor Poscuta hadn’t adjusted to the colder climate just yet. Eirlys was in the process of crafting him a nice little vest to keep his core warm. Which she knew to be a great help...not that she took after that. A glance down to her exposed mid-section would provide anyone with irony….
“Well, Devi. Are you going to join me?” she asked of the small beast. There was a long stare before she had to stifle a rather loud round of laughter as the Poscuta shuffled around to show her his rear end. She shook her head as she walked away to leave the house. As she stepped out she made her way to walk along the path just outside the settlement proper. She put all her skills to the test, peering under bushes as she kept a steady gaze on the tree canopy. She saw little trails here and there. Nothing major. She straightened with a huff as she crossed her arms to look around again. “Well, this is leading up to a huge pile of nothing…”
As she just about gave up and turned around to go back to the house. She saw it. Small. Tiny. The female dropped to the ground and peered around a tree root. Keldari. The Crystal Serpent. Eirlys watched it for a time, debating on if she should even try to reach for it. The female slowly crept forward. A twig broke under her knee, she froze as the small beast instantly slithered up to look around. She let out a mental sigh of awe as the tiny beast moved. Truly something to marvel at. Taking mental note of that, so that she would be able to at least mimic its movement in battle.
Maybe.
It was a thought she just had. As the female watched the slender beast a little longer she made up her mind to just be content with watching. Once she felt she was done, she simply went back home as the beast was joined by others. Feeling a family was before her, she didn’t feel up to parting them.
