After a healing session with Riya he had decided that it was time to go for a little walk. He'd get some fresh air, let Rae run around, and otherwise enjoy the crisp Zenan air. It was... cold, a lot colder then he was used to, but he still had the scarf that his good friend had given him once upon a time ago. Said scarf was currently wrapped around Makani, keeping him warm, as he walked along with one hand on Rae's head. Due to using so much magic to help Riya he didn't want to use as much when it came to 'seeing'. As such he would allow Rae to work as his seeing eye dog for the moment.

"Just a little walk, Rae, we can't stay away too long." That was the plan at least until the big, fluffy raptrix gave an excited 'wuff' sound before leading him forward. It seemed that someone else was around and the big dog wanted to say hello... and given that she was his eyes at the moment he had no choice but to follow her lead.

Rae's gaze followed the food at it went flying and she was quick to follow it, leaving Makani standing there before the person who'd been startled by the raptrix's rapid approach. Giving a bit of a sigh Makani said, "I do apologize for Rae, she gets excited when it comes to meeting new people. I seems that she never grew out of the puppy stage of life." Something that he always found to be rather cute but he hoped was a huge bother to the one before him.

Hearing the voice he gave a little humming sound. Alright, he was dealing with a young woman from the sounds of her voice. Hopefully that meant that Rae would have more leeway since women seemed to like fluffy animals. Well, most of them, not all of them... so long as this one was less like Sinny and Eira when it came to letting animals off the hook then he should be alright. He allowed a small swirl of magic to go around him for a moment, allowing Makani to orientate himself get a feel for the one before him. After that the energy died down and he smiled greeting her with a, "Hello." After her breathless greeting.

Makani gave a nod of his head in agreement, "She is most certainly amazing." He murmured, quite biased toward the raptrix since he'd found her as a pup and she'd been his first friend after moving to Zena when he was just a youngling. Tilting his head to one side he heard the Rae bouncing around in the snow, meaning that the woman was definitely making fast friends with the winged canine. It was something that made him smile a bit as he really did want Rae to make friends too. She was willing to be buddies with anyone that wasn't a threat to Makani after all, which tended to be a lot of people.

"Hm? Ah... I see, you felt that?" It was something that caused the fox eyed man to smile a bit. So she was able to sense his magic then? That must mean that she was a magic user as well? That was something that was quite interesting to him as he always enjoyed meeting others who practiced the magical arts. Giving a nod of his head he said, "Yes, I am a magic user as well, one who wields runes... and yourself?"

Makani gave a smile as the girl declared that she was also using runes, something that he found to be interesting. Had he ever met a magic user that used runes before? He couldn't recall off hand but this was a nice turn of events for certain. As he found himself given the invitation to sit he gave a little nod before allowing another swirl of magic to surround him for a moment. It was there just long enough for him to navigate a couple steps forward and he settled down on the tree.

Once there the magic died down and he gave a smile, "How I use my magic? I use it in all manners really. Is there a specific spell that you are interested in? Perhaps a specific way to use your magic to help others?" As he asked the questions of her he realized that he'd missed a step in the conversation, that being the part where he acted like a polite gentleman.

Lifting a hand to his chest he said, "My name is Makani, by the way, it's nice to meet you, fellow rune user."

Makani couldn't help but to chuckle, "Is that so? Small world it would seem as my older sister Eira owns an inn in Sauti. Seems that we have much in common Myrida." It made this meeting all that much more fun! It were as though Chi herself had told Rae to lead him here he thought to himself as she was suddenly acting him about the magic swirling about him. It made him smile before he said, "You'd be surprised how few people react to it even though its a magic all my own making." Manipulating his magical energy in such a manner was something that he'd never seen with anyone else but then again they didn't need magic of this variety from what he'd seen.

Giving a smile he said, "Normally you would feel a steady, swirling flow around me but I've been using most of my power to help to heal an injured girl I'd guess is around your age given the sound of your voice. For now it's something I will use in little spurts so as not to tap myself out entirely. As for what the magic does it's how I 'see' the world around me." To explain better Makani allowed his eyes to open up, revealing the hazy golden orbs before closing them once more.

Makani couldn't help but to laugh a bit at the girl's reaction. That was far better then those that got all worried about him or pitied him, thinking that being blind was something horrible. Giving a shake of his head he said, "Naw, don't worry about it. I can't say that it bothers me at all. I mean I've been this way forever after all." He lifted a hand to give a little wave, as though to say that there was no harm in her words. There was very little an innocent girl could say to bother him, that much he was certain of.

"Magic is quite useful in all manners. Another thing that I do is keep the inn stocked with fresh, purified water. I use a combination of spells to draw water from the nearby river then purify it, making it safe for drinking and any sorts of medical needs that pop up." He thought on it for a moment, his cheeks coloring ever so slightly before he said, "I also use it as a means to entertain the guests at the inn when the other performers are on break." Not his favorite to use his magic but a way to use it nevertheless.

"It's a very useful spell... well, set of spells at least. It takes more then one in conjunction with each other so it's a spell that might take some time to learn if its one that you want to learn one day." He warned the young woman, not wanting her to think that it would be something that she should be able to do out of the gate. It was best that she knew that magic could be difficult so that she didn't feel bad if something didn't work out for her magic wise.

As she mentioned the shows that he did being the sort that might have inspired some younglings he said, "Here is to hoping. The more magic users in the world, those with healing skills especially, are something I welcome. That is definitely something I suggest you learning even if its not your main interest. Being able to use healing magic to protect others is very important. You never know when someone you love might need your aid."

Giving a smile he said in an encouraging tone of voice, "Well, 'late to the party' or not if it's what you want to do then put your all into it, Myrida."
