The ice female rolled her shoulders as she stretched out for her morning exercises. She would go out into the fields today and train a bit. She heard rumors of a small colony of Poscuta in the area, hearing of their cunning the female was rather set on gaining a few for her growing herd. She hummed softly as she made sure she was ready. Glancing to the sleeping twins she leaned over, pressing a kiss to either child’s head. Then straightening she walked out to the twinkling dawn. The female went out with a few of the older members. A Radaku and her Aldabuck. Rior. She stroked Rior’s back as she walked.
The tender hearted Aldabuck had been her gift from Huyana when she first joined up with the caravan. Rior was the start of a small list of gifted beasts to her. Ones that she figured out just how vast a beast’s personality could be. Rior was timid, gentle...much like her Mama is. The male might of been the type to let things slide, but she noticed he did have a limit. She looked around and spotted a Poscuta. Smirking the female started to slowly walk near it.
“Now, be a nice easy little critter and stay put--Snowflakes.” she grumbled as the small thing merely looked at her. Seemed to shake its head and took off. She crossed her arms as she looked at Rior. The Aldabuck seemed to chuckle at her as she rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Laugh all you want…”
She looked around and then went deeper in. Rior following after her, sending up a prayer to whatever deity listening that nothing big came up to attack his mistress. Eirlys cracked her knuckles as she thought about how she would snag these little beasts. She didn’t figure that her whip would go over well. So, bare hands were the deal. She slowly looked through the underbrush, always expecting something to jump out. After a few hours of looking she rolled her eyes. These little buggers were really starting to try her patience. As well as her nerves. Honestly, who did they think they were? She looked back to Rior, the Aldabuck gave her a look that pretty much said ‘Don’t look at me.’
“Alright you little critters, where did you run off to?” she grumbled as she kept looking. Always on alert as if the beasts could get the better of her. Ha. That was a laugh in her mind. No beast ever got the best of her. Not a single beast ever--
A sudden shadow darted out and she felt tiny paws push her back. With a rather loud yelp she tumbled back and landed on her rear end. The female felt her heart go a mile a minute as she stared at the tiny beast who sat where she had been standing. The female blinked a few times before mentally retracting what she was gloating about earlier.
“Well. Now I know where you were. Sneaking up on me...okay...Score One for you.”
