Once a bridge that used to be used for travel between Bronx and Long-Island before Long-Island sank, Bronx-Whitestone bridge is now a long bridge used for storm riders. Some may still use the bridge to get into the remains of Long-Island but riders usually ride the bridge for dangerous dashes and late night parties. Req. Co. keeps the bridge clean and running for parts wars, but not much else.

To live with blood stained memories....

Red hair swayed as wind blew over the bridge. The female sighed out in quite a bored manner. Takui was a bit late. Typical. She had always been the fast of the two. It seem four or five years had done nothing to change that. They even lived in the same building. She had only arrived the day before, one would thing she would be suffering from jet lag, but she couldn't sleep at all during the night or morning even with it. The trip stirred memories she hadn't thought of for a while. Perhaps it was the fact she had finally left Japan after the incident that the memories all came flooding back as if the haunt her once gain. Fortunately for her, this place had no memory of him. They didn't ride together here. Wither she dreamt about it or not, during the day, even if she remembered, none of these places would ever feel haunted to her. What nagged her the most was her parents were right. She should have done this two years ago, yet she delayed coming. She didn't want to leave. She didn't want to forget everything, but she eventually came to realize that at some point she was going to need to move on. That it wasn't the same as forgetting.

Leaning against the railing, she crossing her arms against her chest as another sigh blew stray strands of hair from her face. No where had Takui gone? The two of them left together, but he told her to head here while he went to do something. Leaning back a bit more she stretched her arms up over her head. Flights from Japan to the states were quite long, not to mention when you had a few lay overs. Her body was quite stiff from being stuck in a chair for over a day.

Blue eyes eventually glared down at the air treks on her feet. Unlike some of the ones she had seen out in the seen and even here on the bridge, hers were worn. She had them for years so, it was only normal. Getting them fixed to look brand new on the outside wasn't a bother for her. If things worked out as planned, a new pair would probably be bought, but for now, she would just focus on getting back on her feet.

Pulling out a packet from somewhere in her clothing, somewhere between her dress on the belt like material around her waist, she took what could be mistaken as a cigarrette box. It reality it was a pocky box. The way she even removed the stick of candy was similar in mannerism to a smokers. Sticking it between her lips she slipped the box back into its concealed location. Well, if her brother was going to take a while to get her she may as well test out the bridge.

Pressing down on her air treks, the revved up, music to her ears. The sound she had heard so many times she new it like her own voice. Releasing the brakes, the tires hissed against the concrete as she skidded forward dashing as fast as she could towards the other end of the bridge. A straight dash was no fun. Any obstacles would be avoided with swift jumps and twists in the air. On one of her jumps, rather than landing back on the ground she landed on the railing skidding across it for some time before leaping back into the air to finish the final distance with once last sprint.

Hands on her hips, she chomped down on the last bit of pocky sticking out of her mouth. "Hmm... still a far way from being as fast as in the past..." She muttered out loud as she looked towards the end of the bridge she had come from.

It had been so long since he rode on air treks. The blonde haired and red eyed male was so out of practice. Going from being once great, to a mess, to picking his life back up was a struggle and even then he did not ride air treks again. However when he had gotten news Karina was coming to live with him he thought it was the best time to pick of riding again. He even waited for her arrival before he put his pair of air treks on at all. He was only going to ride of Karina would ride again. She had gotten to the United States of America a mere day ago. He had been here for five years.

Takui was riding rather low to the ground as he moved towards the location where he and his sister were going to meet up. They were about to do something neither of them had done in years. Not only riding together, but having a parts war as well. Although Takui was about Ninety-Nine percent positive Karina would win. The parts war in question was a simple Dash, a race which was not Takui's strong suit but of all the parts wars showed his little sister's true strength in riding. Even with her having not been a rider for a while Takui knew she was faster than him, and to be honest he was always going to be slower. He did not mind this though, he was not a runner he was a jumper. Taking a deep breath as he would leap from car to car, not wanting to go too high into the air for fear of potentially falling because of his out of practiceness. He came to an area where there were riders who were going around about the bridge, and no longer any cars. It was weird to see a bridge that had not been used by anything other than storm riders for a long time clean, but that was Req Co. for ya.

Takui would scan the bridge until he came across the familiar long red hair of his little sister. She was riding, probably getting warmed up for their race soon or something along those lines. Takui's assumptions were definitely right though, she was easily still faster than him by quite a lot in fact. He sighed and chuckled at the same time. "Well then, I guess it's time to get my a** kicked by my little sister." He said as he slowly began to ride over to her location. Placing his hand atop her head and rustling her hair a bit. "You ready to beat me Kari?" He asked her with a smile on his face. Some riders nearby hearing him say it got the attention of other riders around, starting a small crowd of people to watch the brother and sister race.

It was odd that Takui had accepted her request for a Dash. Sure they were both starting out and were basically the same as ever other fresh meat out there, yet, she still was faster then him. It was her forté, always had been. Never in his life had he accepted a dash with her before, so why the change now? Could it be he thought he stood a chance with her four year recover? Nah, Takui was an idiot but not that type of idiot. Then perhaps it was some form of pity? He wasn't about that either, he knew better. She wouldn't take it if that were the cause. The only reason Karina could think of was, they were basically F ranks again, and as the rules stated, Dashes were where one of two Part Wars they could officially take part it. Not that they couldn't brawl, but there was no fun in it without any tricks yet. It was best to start of 'slow and steady', or as much as possible.

Her thoughts faded as she heard him call out to her. "Do you have so little faith in yourself? She questioned sarcastically with a smirk. There was really no need to say anymore. He wasn't going to just up and quit simply due to the fact she was typically the best of the two in terms of speed. Anything could happen in a parts war. She too noticed the others on the bridge moving themselves from the path. It appeared word of a Dash about to occur spread quite quickly. Something in her stomach tightened. Already an audience? She had maybe hoped they could have gone unnoticed. If by any chance they made fools of themselves it was not going to be pretty for their 'image'. Shaking her head slightly to the side she forced the thought out of her mind. None of them mattered. Just her and Takui. Her and him working out of the abyss they were in together, or at least try too.

Slipping her hand into the same place she previously had gotten her pocky, she revealed a japanese coin. Her blue eyes gazed into his crimson hues, the same as their fathers. Holding the coin in front of him, she knew he would understand what she intended."Till the other end of the bridge"She was going to flip the coin into the a few yards ahead of them, and when it landed on the ground that was when they would begin the dash. All Karina would do was wait for him to give a nod or vocal indication he was ready. Coin toss beat 'ready set go' any day!

Positioning herself a yard or two at his side, facing the other extremity of the bridge, where she had previously come from. She tossed the coin into the air. The metallic surface glinted as it reflected the light while flipping in the air. Because the coin would take only a few or so seconds to land, she had to position herself quickly, but fortunately for her, it was like second nature to her. As it did so, she positioned herself down low similar to a runner, AT's revving, her eyes never leaving sight of the coin. It appeared she had timed things quite nicely for a second after she had lowered herself, the coin hit the ground with a gently clang. The moment it landed, she broke out of her position beginning to dash out in a straight line, keeping low as her air treks began to gain velocity.

Takui smiled as his sister asked, if he had so little faith in himself. He smiled at her and shook his head. "I don't have little faith in myself I just have a lot of faith in you little sis." He explained how he felt about the dash in question. She then pulled out a coin eventually it was japanese money. It had been a long time since he had seen it and it brought back memories of his time in Japan. He was born there after all. She explained that they would be racing until they reached the other end of the bridge, and then flipped the coin. Takui took his stance as the coin left her finger. His hands on the cold ground of the bridge, his eyes closed as he tuned out the sound of everything. Despite his praise of Karina, and feeling like he would lose the Dash, he did not intend on not trying to win. His legs bent into a position behind him. It felt all too natural to him at this point, a noticeable difference between Karina and Takui would have been the obviously not revving Air Treks of Takui, the wheels were simply not moving. Karina's wheels however seemed to loud, a presence to be feared in a race indeed.

Listening only to the revving of Karina's air treks and for the coin to reach the ground. The moment he heard the clink of the metal smacking the ground ahead of them he knew Kari would be off, but so would he. His air treks pressing against the concrete behind him, wheel releasing a light hum for all of a second before he kicked off the ground. Unlike what most might have expected from a dash however, Takui's pushing off the ground did not indicate his forward motion on the street, but rather his ascent through the air. His lower body being quickly propelled into the air, and then with a final push of his arms as his body reached the proper angle he was off into a forward like diagonal motion. Practically starting off the race with a backflip one might regard this as him being flashy, but when inspected of the position they'd realize it was simply how he road. For someone who had been boasting about how he was not as fast as his sister, he moved through the air rather quickly, he kept up with Karina for the first portion of their race through the simple jump alone, and he stayed in the air for what might have seemed like forever from outside view. Takui knew that his air time was nothing right now though. He was well aware he could do better but soaring through the air for about six second right next to his sister who was staying low to the ground was great. Despite them being siblings it was very clear their riding styles were complete opposites.

She knew better than too look to the side for her opponent when racing. Karina keep her eyes on the finish line. There was no need to distract herself with what Takui was doing, just on doing her best. Besides she knew her brother. Chances were he was going about things like a grasshopper, hoping to use the fall of gravity to boost not only his speed as well as his distance. It was a smart tactic on his part in order to try and make up for his lack of speed compared to her. This was just one of the many things that made part wars amusing. Each rider had their own approach, or way of doing things especially when it came down to making up for ‘weaknesses’.

She had no intention on loosing either. Karina was going to make sure his tactic failed. Despite it being smart she knew that he no longer had the same jumping capabilities as before, just as she did not have the same speed. She doubted he would manage jumping the whole bridge in one go. He was going to have to come down a few times (she hoped at least) for a new jump. Each knew leap of his would decrease his speed as his body went against the forces of gravity before falling again. All she had to do was make sure she kept gaining speed with each push of her leg. Keeping her torso low and almost parallel to the ground she reduced as much air resistance around her body as possible. Anything that could help prevent her from going slower she was going to do.

There was more to going fast then just good posture and moving quickly. Oh, there was much more to it! Each push of her leg carried as much strength as they possibly could propelling her body forward into swift glides as she prepared her other foot to do the same. Her arms swinging with her body for balance but keeping close to prevent creating unnecessary air resistance. One could move there arms as fast as they wanted while swimming but if they didn’t grab the water to generate force for pushing themselves forward barely any speed would be gained, the same concept applied here. If one put power in their glide they could move fast with half the amount of steps.

Little by little her speed picked up until she reached the maximum velocity her air treks could produce. Pretty soon she would reach the finish line… but just how close behind wad Takui?

Takui and Kari were much the same in terms of their sight. Takui didn't look in the direction his sister was in at all, he technically wasn't really even looking forwards. He was simply jumping, his eyes closed so he could feel the wind. In the end it was a straight forwards race. There were no obstacles in this specific race and nothing to hinder him from knowing where to go. After his extended time in mid air he was still head to head with Karina. However upon landing Karina would pass him. Already preparing another jump Takui would push his legs off the ground and jump almost directly horizontal. Moving through the air at a quick pace he did manage to once again catch up with Karina. However there was only so much that he could do. Eventually Karina would reach max speed, which was something Takui could not do faster than her. Max speed being within her grasp but would not be within Takui's grasp anytime soon. The crowd would see that Karina was slowly picking up a lead over her airborne brother who was none-the-less putting up a great match. However him moving through the air was simply not as fast as how quickly Karina was able to reach maximum speed in comparison to him.

Despite her visual senses being focused up ahead, her eyes were trying to pay attention to any hint of where Takui was. He had to make some sort of noise when landing, though she was going to have to sort through the revving of her air treks to hear it. It was difficult, however, the crimson haired young woman thought she faintly heard the sound of a thud and push of wheels against the asphalt behind her. If it was true, it was a good sign. It meant, she was in the lead. Motivated even further, she forced herself to push through the last stretch. Her legs were i. She was going to have to work on this as well. Sprinting did take a high toll on the body. Some lasted longer than others. Karina was sure she would manage until the end, it was only a few yards away. She also knew if she pushed through the pain, her muscles would get over it, not that it would really matter in a few seconds anyways.

Three.... two....

Kari counted down the strides left till the finish line in her mind until she reached the last one. Passing their destination she stood up straight letting herself glide for a short distance before skidding to a stop, twisting around to face her brother.

Takui's eyes slowly opened in order to take note of the scene with his vision. He knew what was happening as he landed for the second time and then jumped. Staring forwards his sister had reached max speed already and was not leading much too far ahead of him. A smile formed on his face as she had slowly inched closer and closer to the finish line that they had basically both designated. His final jump would have ended with him landing just across the finish line however he maneuvered his body in a way to land about five feet away from Karina as she turned around. His landing this time as opposed to being harsh as it was during the race was gentle. Almost as if he was an angel descending from the heavens to touch to the ground. He looked at her, a smile still on his face. As he had said before she was going to win this parts war. A single clap of his hands as he spoke the word. "Winner" Motioning his hands towards Karina as the small crowd of novice-esque storm riders cheered for the race.

Having procured a wagon from a yard sale, Sherry was out and ready to adventure again. The wagon had her PEZ in it, but soon... It would be full. Of what, she didn't know. More candy, maybe? Twinkies? "Jelly beans would be nice, but maybe I should get band-aids instead." She thought idly, wondering what those two kids were up to anyways. Hopefully Ruka's knee was alright. The scratches hadn't been all that bad from what she'd seen, so she was probably fine. Besides, Sherry had her own things to worry about. True to character, she was lost again, for like, the fifth time today. It was honestly getting a little old. Feeling a little grumpy, she tugged her wagon behind her as she walked down the bridge. The area was a little interesting but she was in a bit of a bad mood, and thus, didn't actually care. "I should lighten up. What makes getting lost five times today any different from yesterdays five times? Or last weeks 30 times?" Nothing made it different it was just the same.

Her brooding quickly ended, though, when she realized that there was a race going on. Perking up quickly, she joined the small crowd of novice storm riders at the finish line, watching what was left of the race intently. While she was a little sad that she'd arrived at the very end, she was glad she at least came in time to see the two finish, watching the girl come first, and then a boy second. She cheered along with the crowd as a winner was announced, excited- She just enjoyed things like this, especially from the side lines. It was fun! "You two were amazing!" She exclaimed in an honest tone, taking a half opened pack of PEZ from her purse and munching on it. "Maybe I should share...?" She thought, but thinking of how many people were around, she figured that she'd hold onto it for now. Besides, she'd given enough things away today.

Yes iwt was only about 10 mins since it was posted but come on right. Zeno saves his phone and hears the familiar sound of ATs revving up. Zeno looked in the direction of the noise and sees two riders racing. Zeno watched them as they sped across the bridge. He then turns to the two riders racing and says "Yall arent to bad, tho yall are the some of the first riders ive seen here in America so i have no one to compare yall with i guess.?" as he says the last bit as a question wondering if that was the right wording to use. He then stood there pondering and waiting for a reply.

It was an odd feeling, it felt.... nostalgic... good. The wind through her hair, even the slight pain in her legs, it was all nice although the gleam in her eyes was only for a moment. Kari smugged at her brother "But of course, it was known from the beginning after all" she taunted with a swift follow up of her tongue. She knew her brother would get her back by some other means. By then a girl with a wagon of candy came up, the red head ignored most of what she had to say. Her blue eyes focusedike a hawk on its prey. Sweets had always been her weakness. What a variety she had....

Some else approached from the apparently watching crowd. This time a male. Kari still only paid half attention. The girls candy wagon made her realize she was a bit peekish so she pulled out her own private stash of pocky and slipped one in her mouth. Unlike this Sherry person, Kari wasnt necessarily all that open to sharing... even with Takui...

Takui noticed that among the cheering there was one specific person who was rather close by. She spoke as opposed to cheer, telling them they were amazing. She also seemed to have a wagon of PEZ. Takui smiled at her, and went to open his mouth. However before he could a kid from almost out of no where rode up. Saying hi to someone named Sherry. It seemed to be the girl with a lot of PEZ candy in her wagon. He then explained that he didn't have anyone to compare them to but they weren't too bad. Takui smiled as he scanned the area for a moment. Noticing a couple people Karina included staring at the girl's candy. Takui took note of this and then spoke. "We would have done much better if it was four or five years ago." He said to both Sherry and the kid with a smile. Slowly gliding along the street passing Kari and knocking her lightly in the back of the head with his hand, then sliding past another four or five people and doing the same despite obviously not knowing them. "Stop staring at her stuff like that." He said to them all. Looking towards Kari for a moment. "Especially you, miss never shares anything." Takui said to Kari chuckling for a moment.

Takui looked at the two he had been speaking to before. Taking a breath as he scanned them, then his smile grew wider. His eyes closed and his head tilted to the side as he knew what he had to do. Of everything Takui knew that there were only two real kinds of riders. A majority of the riders here were of the first kind. They were riders that would never excel at the art of riding. It was fine for them sure. Then there were the kind of riders that Sherry and this kid were. The riders that had something about them. Something that gave people a gut feeling that they had the potential to excel at storm riding. Takui chuckled to himself again then turned his head towards Karina. "We should go celebrate your win, at Coney Island." He said to her, pointing towards Sherry and the kid as well. "You two can also come as well, I actually would like to ask you both something anyways." His smile became more of a smirk at this point. He looked towards Kari as he realized he didn't tell her that he was basically going to force her into this too. Thinking for a moment his smirk grew. Determining he would just surprise her with it when he asks the two other riders what he needs to ask them. "Oh! And by the way, my name is Takui. This is Karina." He introduced himself pointing towards his sister when he said her name.

"Oh, hi Zeno~!" Sherry was surprised to see him, but happy none the less. "It's nice to see you! Did Ruka's legs get all healed up?" As she spoke, she watched the red headed girl who had won the race, noting the.. Interesting reaction to her candy. "Oooo, another sweet tooth!" She thought, an excited glint in her eyes. When she pulled out her pocky, though, the gleam dimmed. Pocky was okay, it tasted fine. But somehow, eating chocolate on a stick had always felt like some weird.. Crime against humanity to her. It was also why she didn't like s'mores. Maybe once the other riders left, she would share some of her PEZ, to show the ginger the light! Pushing the idea towards the back of her head for later, she gave the blonde man a quizzical look. "Four or five years?" Sherry tilted her head. "Did somethin-" She cut herself off, for once having the tact to understand that the question she was about to ask might have been a touch personal. What would've been an awkward moment for her was canceled out by the guy coming forward, knocking the redhead on.. well, her head, and essentially telling people to not stare at the precious trove of treasure in the wagon. "Aw, jeez, I didn't even notice..." She thought, furrowing her brow. "I should put a cover on that so I don't walk around torturing people with glorious candy..." It was loud enough to be heard, but she was mostly saying it to herself as an idea for later.

Idly, she took a strand of hair from her pony tail and started to braid it, taking the time to size both of the riders up. "I wonder if maybe they'd give me tips..." She was still pretty new to the whole riding thing in general, and sadly very clumsy at it, much to her annoyance. Growing up, she'd always been good at keeping balance and stuff like that, despite coming off as a bit of an airhead. It was embarrassing to trip over her feet all the time. She knew the clumsiness would go away with practice, but surely there was something she could learn now to help her out at least a little bit? Off in her own little world, she zoned out until she heard the words, 'Coney Island,' which immediately brought her back to reality just in time to hear the blonde guy invite both her and Zeno along for the ride. "Wait, what do you want to ask? Is it a surprise?" She asked brightly, joyous at the prospect of being able to go visit Coney Island- It had been on her list to visit for a while, but going to an amusement park alone just wasn't fun, so she'd been waiting to go there until after she had friends to go with. "Takui... and Karina." Her tone of voice was interesting, almost like she was digesting the names. "I like Karina, that's a pretty name!" Sadly, she had nothing to say about Takui's name. It was easier to compliment girls than it was to compliment boys, since girls were just so much better. "I'm Sherry, and this is Zeno! Nice to meet you two!" She exclaimed, giving a friendly wave in lieu of a handshake.
