Evan pursed her dark lips, her thick lipstick practically a paste for how many times she reapplied it. Her and Nausicaa were not particularly handsy for that was not her thing, and she need not leave claiming smooches all over the Imp hybrid, but the motion of putting on her make-up was soothing. She was so worked up over this and there was a chance the Daydream wouldn't even accept her proposal.
Caper was finally putting on some height, nearing his adoptive mother's shoulder. How time had flown. Adopting Caper had been a test of her own perceived maturity and partial ambition to try and "lighten up" with her maternal side, but her and the boy meshed so well it had been nearly flawless bringing him into her life. Maybe he was making some questionable friends and decisions now, but even she had had a few rebellious moments against the Academy and it's strict rules. Regardless, the point of the tangent was that maybe it was time she could expand on her little family unit.
Her business wasn't quite soaring yet, but she had her rental space and moved plenty of goods. It was something stable she could easily keep on supporting her family with, with or without Nausicaa's direct help.
"Nausicaa?" she called for the Hybrid in question, fluffing up her bangs as she rounded the corner into the sitting room of her small apartment. Living rooms were for chaos - this was a nicely decorated room for sitting and entertaining. She tipped her head the slightest, burying her chin into her fur collar. A small smile flicked across her lips before she sat on the edge of the vintage arm chair, the fabric a bit starch with age. The Imp tilted her head the slightest, running her claws through the fluff on her opposite arm. The house was quiet, Caper elsewhere today with Wednesday. Usually this would be a concern but for right now, Evan had more important things before her.

Nausicaa hadn't been far out of ear shot. The hybrid had been organizing some take-home work she had been tasked with completing, a series of binders neatly colour coordinated resting in her lap as her eyes scanned over the documents in her hands. That one went in the green folder, this one went in the purple one ... It wouldn't take too long for Nausi to get everything properly filed away, now that all the appropriate signatures had been made. While it sucked that she had work to take home, it was better than staying at the office all night when all the hybrid wanted to see was see Evan. Nausicaa's ears perked a little at her name being called, and the fey-imp pipped up with a small, but quisitive "Yes, dear?" Nausicaa was a good multi-tasker. She could work on her own things while still giving Evan all the attention the imp needed, not that she needed a lot. It worked well for Nausicaa. Being an assistant buyer was surprisingly demanding work, which Nausi never expected, but the hybrid loved every second of it.

Mild mannered as ever. Evan smiled the faintest, watching the bright hybrid work for a moment as she gathered her courage. She was never exactly brash herself even if her temper sometimes got the best, but while she had repeated her words over and over in her head this week, she was still having some trouble getting them out. Her tail gave a lazy twitch, a bit uncharacteristic of her cool nature, and she pushed the end backwards under the chair with her heel.
"Nausicaa," she began again, golden eyes wandering just for the briefest moment. She was infatuated with this woman, and their personalities... it would be a blessing if it worked out in the best manner. "I have an inquiry," she continued that could be either personal or talking business. "As you know, Caper's starting to really grow."
Evan sighed little, smacking her overly-applied lips. She needed to just say it, irritation with herself causing her large ears to sit low on her head. "Nausi, would you be willing to imbue a stone with me? I can't think of anyone else that would create a child I think would fit so perfectly into my home life." It was not exactly a romantic gesture, but Evan's features softened for a moment, pulling her hands into her lap to smooth the crinkles in her dress skirt. "Of course, I would love if you raised them too, but I understand if that is asking a lot of where we are with each other."

The hybrid sat and listened patiently as Evan stated her proposition, suddenly twisting around to give her girlfriend her full attention. When the question came, It hadn't been what Nausicaa had expected. Yet it didn't alarm her. This was Evan, after all. Evan never did anything without really thinking things through, at least it seemed that way to Nausicaa. That's why the two got along so well. When Evan wasn't rational, it was always a fleeting moment of a flared temper. Nausicaa couldn't fault her. Evan was so well-composed and put together most of the time that Nausicaa just turned a blind eye and let the woman have her flare ups in private, so as not to damage her girlfriend's pride. Nausicaa was always waiting afterwards for when the fire subsided. In her head, Evan's inquiry made perfect sense. Nausicaa had no reason to believe Evan would not have thought this through for days already by now. She had probably been torturing herself mildly over the whole thing. There was no point in drawing it out any longer than it needed to be. "Evan. I would love to." Nausi offered a small, warm, gently smile, folding her claws over her lap. "And ... maybe, if we imbue ... two stones, perhaps ... I can finally move in and help you out with Caper and the kids full-time? It makes sense."

Well, she had not certainly been expecting this. Evan actually looked a bit surprised, her usually narrow and keen eyes growing a bit wide. Slowly though a smile overtook her, forcing a faint dimpling to her cheeks. However, as quickly as it came it was gone, her light brows knitting together in concern. "I don't think there is enough room in this apartment for five," she scolded a bit softly. Her living room was basically antiques after all, her bedroom just as much, and Caper was living in her (very nicely) converted walk-in closet. Even adding a third would be difficult without pushing out Caper entirely.
She twiddled her claws for a long moment. "We can find another place to live. I have a good amount of money to put towards something bigger," Evan decided after her pregnant pause, eyes slowly sliding back to her girlfriend. "After all, the stones can wait for a period before they are awakened. We can get a home going." That genuine smile returned again and she moved to stand, coming near and placing a hand on Nausi's shoulder as she leaned in and left a plum kiss on her freckled cheek. "Thank you, Dearest."
