Pridey: Then he says, "If I were the giving sort, I'd try to trick some of the guests here into giving up their masks in order to narrow the pool of tithes. But I'm not. Are you?"
Sinister: "The ideal end to the night is one where no one dies, isn't that your opinion? But consider this: a death on the night of the red moon often sticks. It may be a good time to do away with someone dangerous. Perhaps even someone... spooky?"

Adoelle: "I'm going to volunteer to be the tithe," she says. "It's counterintuitive, isn't it? But the cage has to be destroyed if you're to kill the enemy... no matter how much it hurts to do it."
Adoelle: "It was very nice, actually," she says. "The red moon comes along not nearly as often as you'd think, the last time was the, um... early nineties? So it's about every twenty-two years. But anyway, I had a nice time. D'you like balls? The dancing is ever so pretty."
Lady Red: "No," she says. "I'm not. My... copy... probably is, though."

Lady looks at Jeremiah for a long moment. "I killed Michael Mitchell," she says, quietly. "I had to. They made me." (this piece of info is NOT shared with anyone aside from algernon, nor is it written in his notebook. it may be later be told to others.)
Lady Red: "I had to," she says, "I had to leave her. I thought if I did what they said, I'd be free to go, and I could... I knew I was gone by then and they said if I killed him, if I just made him stop, he'd... I'd... I wanted to go home. I just wanted to go home."

Her eyes are bright, tears threatening to spill out. It's the most vulnerable she's ever been and her jaw is tight with hate for it. "And I can't ever go home again, can I?" Her voice is increasing in volume. "I did what they said and I can't ever go home because they sent him back and I'm going to die here, and she's going to be me forever, and, I only did what I was told!" Lady Red: "Masking us is only part of it," says Lady to the group assembled. Her voice wavers. "The doubles must be unmasked, also. You have to narrow down the field." (this piece of info is ONLY shared with algernon, chris, and nathaniel. it is written in his notebook. it may be later be told to others.)
Lace: If anything, Lace seems a little put out that Algernon is being so polite. Still, she says, "Thank you. It's just a little something I had at home." She steps close to him, returning the courtesy of keeping her voice pitched low. "There's other ways to exempt yourself," she says. "The masks are easiest, and most visible. But there's also winning the favor of those who matter... or being selected to the tithing committee."

She smiles and leans away. "I think you and yours can save four lives tonight. Too bad there's so many more attendees."
Vivien: "I never left," says the ghost.

She shakes her head. "Be on your guard. Don't relax. She's twisted up but she knows you're here for her. Fear only means you're alive."
Noeh: Noeh shakes her head. It doesn't, she signs. But she's scared, so scared. He's going to kill her. So she must be strong. She pauses. Follow me?
July & September: Jeremiah gets a bright smile from July, and she says, "Thank you. Father will be delighted to hear that you're such a gentleman, you know. Maybe he'll even let you help choose who lives and who dies."
July & September: July does enjoy that dance, it's true. She grins brightly, her expression effervescent. "One good turn deserves another, doesn't it?" She drops the pun like a litterbug drops a candy wrapper on the side of a Central Park trail. "You've done well to stay on Lady Melany's good side. Capitalize on it, won't you?"
Sinister: "I find the assumption that there is a second path to be quite concerning," says the survivor, "I have been here for many years, and I have lived in blood and death, and I have found there is only one path through this night. Perhaps you'll surprise me."
Sinister: The survivor might be looking at Algie, or he might not. But there's a feeling of someone watching him closely. "You'd need to take her mask," says the survivor. "Which might be an easier prospect than you'd expect. With the right allies."

"Well, it's true," she says, adding the book and the bear to her pile of Stuff. "She's part of this world as much as gravity. She's part of the other world, too. The one I came from. And actually, I think the enemy has many forms. Your best bet is to let me and Heliodora die, and then when the cage is broken root him out. There's a spell, but I don't know it..."

Sunny:

Says nothing about him mentioning her calling him Papa, but clearly knows something is up

Vivien:

"Rylan," she says. "Where's Imp? He shouldn't be alone..."
There's a long pause. "You'll want to save her. But some people shouldn't be saved. You just need to let her go."

"They know wargs when they see them," says Vivien. She keeps her back turned to him. "They would think it good sport to catch him. They wouldn't care if they hurt him, as long as in the end he was caught."

She found another world where Liam had grown old and was married to someone else, and she was dead.

"I don't know," says Vivien. "I... the girl before, the one with no mask, she asked if I had left something unfinished, if I was here to help. I wanted to talk to Liam. I wanted to tell him it was alright, that I understood why he didn't save me. But I saw his face... I knew that he could've. And in that moment I knew I didn't forgive him. He was willing to ruin the world, to change it to the world you know, for his husband. Why wasn't he willing to do that for me?"

"He's in the red mask," she says. "He saw me. He... I had to leave. I ran away."

"No," says Viv. "He and his husband are why there is no more."
