It seems that they were guarding a side entrance of the space tower during the lockdown, to ensure no trolls got in or got out. Just before the announcement began in the Central Hub, they were approached from behind and knocked out. When they came to, their id was missing, the side entrance was open, and the machines inside were running.
When they pushed the door open to go inside, they were forcibly ejected - with bruises to show - by the space tower's defensive systems. These were built in to defend the tower in the future should any trolls take it in their mind to try and cause trouble, but were prematurely activated before their controls were fully put into place. Now the system thinks everyone is hostile, and is violently repelling all those who try to enter the tower and deactivate it.
They assure you that if there was anything that volunteer workers were needed for, this was it. With production already falling rapidly behind schedule, if delays take any longer, it could cost the city not only the competition, but any future patronage from the military on future scientific ventures. Time's ticking away, and they need some brave troll - they pause to try and make eye contact with you - to get in there and shut down the defense systems!
"In-in-invaders will be located, processed, and used for build-build-building materials."
You've encountered a rogue AI defense system!
HP ????/????
You must advance through the half-constructed tower to try and find the central power system. Doing a full reboot of the system by powering it down, then turning it on again, should get the systems to reset and the security defenses offline.
However, the defensive system's AI will most certainly do everything in it's powers to try and prevent this from happening, as it sees you as an invading threat.
In addition, while there was an initial blueprint of the tower, construction has been a bit hectic and disorganized. Things have gotten built that might not have been in the initial plans, and other rooms and elevator shafts might not yet be in existence. Therefore all trolls are recommended to try and keep track of their path through, as the inside has become a bit of a maze.
IMPORTANT FIGHT MECHANIC INFO! READ THIS FIRST!
If this is your first boss battle, or you need some reminders, remember to read our boss battle how-to in the battle thread.
Each boss battle post that contains damage dealt should be submitted with the google docs form, like the rest of the meta! You all know how this goes by now.
New round attacks and half hour attacks using offensive abilities must be reported.
Posts that contain rp only/defensive/supportive abilities should not be reported.
Each new round attack is your troll arriving at a crossroads inside the tower. The path will branch off, and you will be given a choice as to what direction you would like to go. Next round, you will be told if you arrived at a new crossroads, or at a dead end. Trolls at dead ends can only return in the direction they came from. You're in a maze with no map!
Each half hour attack is your troll progressing through the half-constructed space elevator's base to their next crossroads/dead end.
Unlike usual boss battles, new rounds will begin at any time of the day (with exception to 11pm-11am EST) as long as the majority of trolls on a side have posted, and two hours have passed since the last round. After round 1, this will reduce down to the majority of the trolls who posted in the previous round, and continue on for the rest of the battle. Missing rounds is fine, your troll simply is considered to have taken a bit of time to catch their breath and look around.
Trolls may choose to purposefully skip rounds if they want to wait for another troll to meet up with them/any other reason. If you skip a round you cannot attack in half-hour posts relating to that round.
While the boss's hp is unknown as they consist of an entire building, at set damage milestone helpful things may happen to assist all trolls inside the space tower's construction site.
As always, rp can be done at any time and is unrelated to the round structure.

ROUND 5
As you push farther, you happen to glance out one of the gaping, unfinished walls. You can see down below, trolls gathered around the site, a few waving their arms in either support or warning. Their faces are slightly blobby from the distance, and you realize how far up the construction site you've climbed.
All trolls gain one use of second wind.

ROUND 8
The ghostly visage of Verier appears on the walls as they flicker into activation. "I'm calling for an evacuation of the space ladder. Reports of a bomb threat appear to have been reinforced by an unidentified object in the power room, displaying a prominent timer. Special forces will be sent in, but my recommendation for volunteers is to evacuate."
He raised a hand to his visor to adjust it, wiping away some sweat from his brow. "If you're too far deep and have no choice but to carry on, please. Be cautious. The ladder's capricious construction is one thing, but we cannot be too careful with this threat."

ROUND 9
A large, multifaceted window gives you a view stretching out over the city, getting close allows you to see the trolls gathered below, now a shapeless blobby mass of grey and black. A few of the pains have yet to be fitted in, and a breeze lifts small strands of hair off your face, bringing in the smell of the world outside. It fills you with DETERMINATION vigour.
All trolls who have used their previous second wind gain another.

ROUND 14
You can hear sounds filtering up, through the hollow sections of the space tower. Adult voices, and boots marching in unison - it sounds like backup has finally arrived! Their shouted words can't be heard, but maybe, just maybe, they're yelling words of encouragement at the trolls who helped them stay filled with morale throughout the entire competition. Or maybe they're just angrily fighting off bees coming out of doors.
They'll catch up, you don't doubt, but what if they arrive too late? What if, whatever's counting down, hits zero first? You can make it there in time, you know it. If you can just ... get back up and keep going ...
All trolls gain a second wind.
