It had never been planned but it happened regardless. Aodh's parents had flipped when they found out but only because of who he was moving in with. Annoyingly right before that they had been wanting him to move out on his own but that had rapidly changed.

Not that it stopped him.

Aodh was tired of trying to live up to whatever expectations his parents had for him and his life.

He was carrying a box out to his car, one of the last things, and putting it into the back. The blonde had actually made a point to come by to get the last bit of things when his parents were not home and were both working.

Save himself an earful.

Mel had been walking down the block for once in an attempt to escape her own parents and their constant pressuring. Asking where she'd been, why she was in such a bad mood, why she didn't listen to them. Same thing over and over again. Treating her like a child. Surprise, she wasn't. It was enough to keep her away from the house even when they were being somewhat agreeable. Now she was wandering aimlessly around, hoping to figure out something to do or find some way to take her mind off of things.

She spotted the box before she spotted the blonde, and while she knew most people around, she was always hesitant to speak up. Most knew of her troubles if they'd been there long enough and really didn't take her bad luck too kindly.

"Hey uh...hi. Need help?" she settled on saying, inching a bit closer to see if she did indeed know the owner of said box.

Aodh was not expecting anyone to come up to him, let alone help. He had made an enemy out of the pair of twins that lived further on the block and most of the others that were his age had moved out or lived in dorms or just were not around.

So when he heard a voice, he actually jumped a little. Sometimes, after Blackfriars, he spooked a little easier. "Ah, sorry, I'm a little-" He wiggled his fingers as if to say gun shy but not actually say it. It took him a moment to realize who it was because it had been years, at this point, and even Aodh himself was no longer the gangly, scrawny short teenager he had been.

"Mel?" he inquired. "That you?" She was a little older than him but that didn't mean they didn't know each other. It was hard not to when you grew up in the same neighborhood and everyone's parents knew each other.

... and gossiped about you to each other.

"Aodh? Oh uh hi there! Fancy meeting you here. Well, sort of," Mel smiled, waving awkwardly at him. She wondered if he had heard any rumors about her. Things like that happened to get around quite easily, but there was still hope. Maybe he had just moved back. Maybe he had been rumor free and ignored all of them. Oh she could only be so lucky.

"How have things been? Obviously you're moving, but where to? Still Ashdown or maybe somewhere more exciting?" She wanted to go to more exciting places. She wondered if it was just her, but probably not. Ashdown was pretty exciting to most. Then again most didn't have debt collectors bothering them constantly.
