It was the middle of the day so the inn was fairly quiet, as it always was before the evening crowd showed up. Li was outside with one of his two best friends, Uli, the two of them waiting for the third member of their group to show up. She was out today, though where Li wasn't really sure, and when she came back he'd invite her to join the two of them. Turning to look toward Uli he gave his friend a smile, "Weather is nice today, do you want to walk down by the river?" He asked of Uli in a curious manner. Now that they were older they were allowed to wander farther without a guide like what they had needed when they were younglings, something that Li rather enjoyed. While he loved Gyuri and Makani he was glad to be able to stretch his legs a bit by walking around on his own. Hopping up to his feet he walked down the stairs, off the deck before the inn, and stretched out all over, "I have some training to do before the evening crowd shows up but we have at least a bit of time to wander around at least." He said, tossing his braid over his shoulder before he started forward, motioning for Uli to follow along after him. A walk along the river would be nice as there was always a nice, especially since they could sit alongside it and soak their feet if they wanted to. Were it not for the fact that he was wearing a nice outfit, and a bit of jewelry, he might even be tempted to go for a swim. Maybe next time though.

Hulis chuckled as he brushed a large gathering of his hair over his shoulder. Making sure his headband was on he looked up to Li. The smaller male was used to looking up to a lot of people by now. "I don't mind, it sounds like it could lead to a grand adventure." He pushed off the railing he was leaning against. As the youth did so, he shifted the pendant he was given as a youngling to tuck it safely into his shirt. Humming the youth glided down the steps after Li. Polaris following close behind him. He had gotten used to the large hulking beast over the several years that Uli was raised beside the creature. Uli absently reached out to stroke the beast as they walked. Humming softly. "Li...think Riya went rock climbing again?" It was something that he was curious about. Though he doubted very much that he could manage to get very far.

Riya lifted her hand to look at it once again and sighed. She'd really done a number on it and would need to have it looked at. With a small shake of her head she began to chew on her thumbnail. That meant that her broken hand, with it's bruised and bloody knuckles, was practically on display.
Since she didn't think that her mother was going to be outside she didn't bother trying to be sneaky and hide it. Though when she heard her brother and Li she gave a groan. Ah well, maybe Li could tell her where she could find Makani. So Riya rounded the corner by the barn to head in front of the Inn. "Hey guys." She kept her tone casual. Last thing she wanted to was to hint at the pain she felt. "What're you doing?"

Li gave Uli a glance, then chuckled, "I doubt it's going to be a 'grand adventure' but I hope that it will at least be a walk that one could refer to as enjoyable." He was starting to think that maybe Uli needed to go on a real adventure sometime if he thought that a walk to the river was a 'grand' adventure. It was part of Uli's charm though, that he was rather naive and innocent in such a manner. "Hm? Rock climbing?" He thought on it for a moment before giving a shrug, "Possibly?" Who knew what she did when she left them behind at the inn but he kind of doubted that it was rock climbing. No matter, if that was what Uli thought she was doing then he'd leave it at that... or at least that was what he'd planned on until the one they were talking about came into view. He found himself starring for a long moment as Riya came closer before he glanced at Uli... then back again. After crossing his arms over his chest he asked, "Fall while you were rock climbing, Riya?"

There was a noticeable pause in the smaller male before his eyes flashed a dangerous gold. "Riya." it was a simple calm tone. One that was quickly becoming a rather startling trait in the youth. He'd get a tone that usually led to him getting a tad mean. He walked up to his sister, pulling out a small scarf he wrapped her hand in it. His eyes were cold and hard as he looked into hers. "If Mom sees that. She'll go on the warpath." He glanced back to Li. The hardness still in those golden depths. "Is Uncle Makani around somewhere?" he would hold off on an adventure to search for something to help his sister. The youth blinked. "Wait...we need to wash that in the river." He started to lead his sister by her injured hand towards the nearby river. His mind going through the lessons his Mother set up for him with a aging healer. In one lesson he learned of a herb that grew by the river here. It was useful for cleaning a open wound. "There's a herb that can help clean that so Uncle Makani has a easier time with it..."

Li was the first one to notice her and say something. Though she gave him a confused face before she nodded her head. "Sure, you can say that.." Riya was about to say something else then she heard her brother's tone. Looking toward him she lifted a brow at him as he came near.
Then he took hold of her broken hand and she forced herself to remain stoic. All she could manage to do was grit her teeth. "I know, Hulis." She said his name slowly and with an underlying growl.
It wasn't until he started to pull her by the hand that she finally gave a glimpse at how badly it bothered her. "Be cursed by Chi, Uli! Let go!" She was already trying to get him to let go with her other hand. "It's broken, you brat. I know you aren't blind." Now it was her turn to be angry. For being her twin he sure did miss things, or he had hurt her on purpose. Both options were bad in her eyes.

Li looked over at Hulis for a moment, then gave a thoughtful glance toward the inn, then around, "From what I heard he was going out on a walk so he's not at the inn presently. We can always tend to her hand best we can then have her go see him the moment he gets back... you know, before your mother spots her." He offered, hoping that his uncle got back sooner then later so that they would be able to fix Riya up before Miss Eirlys saw her and possibly grounded her for getting hurt. He took a half step forward, ready to follow after the pair to the river when Riya was suddenly calling Uli by the name 'Hulis' which meant that she wasn't pleased. A moment later it was explained to him why, the fact that her hand wasn't just scraped up but instead it was broken." As she proclaimed that Uli wasn't blind he couldn't help but to laugh, "Am I only one that finds it funny that the one that actually is blind is the one that we want to show up to help?" Yeah, it was probably just him. Giving a smile he said, "Let's go sit by the river, maybe nobody will notice that she's hurt at a distance and we can wait for Uncle Makani together."

He dropped her hand as if she had screamed at him. The long haired male spun to stare her down. How in the world did she...? "You slipped while rock climbing right?" please Chi, let that be the reason. He knew his Mother could live with that being the reason. A ignored request here and there was expected of them, they were still young. "You know Mom said to never go rock climbing without a partner...Riya. Please say you hurt yourself rock climbing."He glanced to Li, the anger dropped out of his system as a unexplained icy fear crept up his spine. Something was wrong. It wasn't the irritating feeling in his hand, mirror to his sisters broken one. It was this trickling fear that something else was the cause. He was impressed that Li kept calm this whole time. Polaris on the other hand hovered near Riya, sniffing at the female the janarim let out a huff.

With her hand dropped she brought it to her chest and cradled it. The pain was shooting up her wrist and making things even more uncomfortable. If she didn't know any better she'd say that Uli had made it worse. Before her brother could start asking her questions she looked over at her best friend. "Heh, yea. I'd really like him to show up.." And then her brother was on the tail end of her words.
Rock climbing. Riya frowned and looked away from her twin. "Yeah, sure. Climbing." Lying to her sibling wasn't something she liked to do. Though she had climbed up to the sitting rock. So that counted, right? Although, her hand had been injured in a different way. As Polaris huffed she eyed him a little. "I'll be alright boy." No need for the beast to start freaking out too.
With a deep breath she looked toward Li once again. "Which way did Makani go? I can go find him." Riya had a feeling if she stayed with both of them then she'd end up fighting with her brother even more.

Lifting a hand up he let it rest on Uli's head for a moment before he ruffled the innocent boy's hair, messing it up a bit before he said, "It's nothing you need to worry so hard over, Uli. We just don't want to worry your mother. As such we will figure out where Uncle Makani is so he can patch her up." If they did that, got her patched up and back into good condition, then maybe she would tell them what was really going on. Before that could happen they needed to find Makani. "Of all days for Uncle Makani to go off chasing rumors." He mused to himself, giving a little shake of his head. Glancing at Riya he said, "You're not going to go racing off after my uncle in that condition, Riya. I think the best thing for you to do at the moment is soak your hand in the river. You can use the pool that Uncle Makani made for people to soak. The cold water will help to ease the pain and help out until he gets back. If you go chasing him now you might keel over and then where will you be?"

Uli wrapped his arms around himself as he watched his sister. He knew she was mad, he was upset and she was mad. This was not a good combination. He looked down at the ground the up to Li as the other ruffled his hair. He let out a long breath then turned on his heel. He started walking away from the other two calling back over his shoulder. "I'll go on ahead. Maybe that herb I spoke about will be around the pool."He started to quicken his pace, as his vision got blurry he took off. He didn't want to anger his sister further than by showing he was affected. He was frustrated, upset and confused. Crying was only his natural reaction. He was highly emotional, even his Mother said so on many occasions. Polaris raced after his master, the beast making sure that the fragile little earthling he was given charge of wasn't going to bleed on him today.

Li got a sarcastic look from her. "Really? I walked all the way here with my HAND broken. I'm sure I'll be fine." However, before she could figure out which direction Makani had gone her brother walked away.
For a silent moment she watched his retreating back and then Polaris as he chased after him. Turning her gold, yellow eyes on her friend she motioned with her injured hand. "Better go after him, he might fall in." The motion jarred her bones and Iriyana gave a hiss. Letting her gaze fall to her hand the ice girl trapped her bottom lip between her teeth. It hadn't hurt this much when it happened so why was it bothering her so much now. "Shoulda dated an ice boy.." Riya muttered. Maybe then she wouldn't be injured in such a way. Or if at all.

Li glanced over at Uli as the boy mentioned finding the herb, seeming as though he meant to find them somewhere around the pool near the river. Li wasn't really sure if that was where the herbs grew, it might not be, but then again maybe Uli just needed a moment to breath? He seemed as though he were ready to panic over what had happened to his sister. Poor kiddo he thought to himself before looking over at the grumpy Riya. "Yes, you walked all the way here. Adrenaline is a heck of a thing, but what happens if it runs out and you fall over? You'd be all alone and the various critters might decide to chew on you." He said, giving Riya a little tsk, "Come on, we should catch up with Uli. You can soak your hand and we can see about mopping up his tears." As motioned to her, "Come on." He said, ready to lead the way toward where Uli was retreating before one of his ears gave a slight twitch at her comment, giving a grin, "Well, we ice boys are far better then wind boys... though that might be biased of me to say."

Uli splashed cold water on his face. Taking a few deep breaths the small ice male idly stroked Polaris' as he attempted to calm himself. Sure he knew he and his sister didn't always see eye to eye. They were two different ideals. Letting out a long sigh he leaned back into the large beast. He looked up and over the creatures back as the other two came closer. He flopped back to stare at the water's surface.

Sure, he could easily come up with an excuse as to why she was able to walk around with her hand in such condition. Riya huffed slightly but she was in too much pain to actually retaliate.
"Awe, Li.. you couldn't handle me." There was a playful wink that came from her but she was walking with her best friend toward the river's edge. She wanted to make sure her brother didn't slip and fall in. Even if everything in her screamed for her to go find Makani she ignored it all. Hulis was more important than her hand at the moment.
