Rubies and sapphires both come from corundum and yet are called two different things. Pink stones are called fancy sapphires rather than poor colored rubies as well. Corundum also has other colors and all are considered fancy sapphires...why not fancy rubies? Why don't they have different names, like rubies and sapphires do?

In one branch of folklore, fairies were once thought to be angels. During the war between Lucifer and god, supposedly they didn't pick a side, choosing to side instead with whoever won.
After the war, they were cast out of heaven for being disloyal, but weren't 'weighed down with enough sin' to make it to hell where the fallen angels became demons. So, instead, they landed on earth and became fairies. That's why angels are moral, fairies are amoral without a sense of right or wrong, and demons are immoral. Being without a moral compass, fairies do as they please without worrying if it helps or hurts others which is why opinions about them vary.
It's said that there aren't many fairies around today because they were forgiven and went back to heaven. Others say that because, vain as they are, they consider seeing themselves to be the 'ultimate delight', they keep themselves out of sight to selfishly deny that delight to others.

Giant Tarantulas keep tiny frogs as pets. Insects will eat the burrowing tarantulas' eggs - so the tarantulas will protect the frogs from predators, and in return the frogs will eat the insects.
