A few days, and things seemed to be settling down into the beginnings of a routine. Or at least that's how Edward felt. The first day had been pretty much a blur of new information and new faces. The second had been spent familiarizing himself with the layout, a few individuals he kept running into, and adjusting to life at the Prytaneum. It wasn't going to be an overnight sort of process, but he felt he was coming to terms with it all pretty well.

Which meant getting himself on a steady sleeping schedule again, which extended into a morning routine. A quick shower upon waking just to get the blood pumping, followed by a walk to the hearth for breakfast(usually healthy). After that a morning run following the perimeter of the grounds.

Despite it being northern Michigan. By the time Edward was coming up to the Hermes dorms there was a shining gleam of sweat starting to decorate any exposed skin--and there was a fair bit, Ed having removed his tank top early on and tucked it into the band of his basketball shorts.

Jan was less an exercise person than a savouring the finer things sort of person and that morning, though he was up bright and early it was to explore rather than go through any sort of fitness regime (though there was of course a certain amount of skin and haircare in his mornings) He was making it policy to introduce himself to the population of the grounds and making a little mental note about which of them were the most laid back and attractive. So far he'd found that the men were winning and this thought was only reinforced when Ed headed past the path he was walking on.

He didn't want to interrupt someone's morning run, but when the person was such a rampant distraction it was frankly their own fault.

"Hey." he said brightly. "It's a nice day isn't it? Good to get out while the weather is still cool." He smiled and extended a slender hand whose wrist was ringed with a /lot/ of gold bangles and an expensive looking rolex watch. "Jan." he said. "Hope I'm not interrupting."

Back home Ed probably would have either ignored the hail or simply not noticed it. The parks were usually fairly busy most of the day, and you never really knew what you were getting into when you stopped to chat with random folks flagging you down. Ed had made the mistake a few time, and he'd walked away with an ear full of a pyramid scheme the first time, and a miniature bible and a the beginning of a religious pitch. After that he'd just stopped stopping.

Here, though, that seemed like a bad idea. Or at least rude, and the former bouncer really didn't know anyone well enough to be rude to them.

So, when Jan(that was his name, wasn't it?) lifted a hand in greeting, Ed slowed to a stop in front of the other man, and hoped the smile he offered in return looked less strained than it felt. Maybe he'd attribute it to the running. "Hey," he tried for casual and friendly, and mostly succeeded. "Yeah it's pretty nice. A little more breeze would be amazing, but," he shrugged.

"Interrupting?" Yes. "Ah, naw, not really. I was nearly done anyways." He slipped his hand into the offered one, hardly noticing the watch, though his brows twitched at the bangles. "I'm Edward."
