Diety: Ares - Lincoln's quick temper and strength make him an ideal follower of Ares. While not one for unwarranted, bloody fights, he's not above using violence as a means to an end, though he prefers not to involve innocent people and is not supportive of violence simply for violence's sake. Having a cause to work towards and fight for is a key part of Lincoln, as well as an ability to defend himself, and as such, he is suited well for Ares.
Lincoln is a mix of loyalty, passion, quick thinking, stubbornness, self-deprecation, and a hot temper. He is a good man with solid ethics that make him rational minded and supportive most of the time, but that combats with a fuse that's too short sometimes and a consistent feeling that he's not good enough for whatever it is that he does. It's hard to dissuade him from his path once he's on it; Lincoln is staunchly loyal to whatever it is he does and will see things through to the end as much as he can, though he does realize this isn't always possible.
One of Lincoln's biggest struggles is his sense of morality versus his sense of duty. He is a strong supporter in standing up for what is right, but his loyalty to his friends and family sometimes blinds him to the truth of what could be different. If he was ever forced into being caught between the two would likely be a huge inner conflict for him.
He has, however, a very good mind and a very good heart. Beneath the self-deprecation, quick temper, and frustrations with everyday life, Lincoln is a quietly kind individual with no desire for public recognition or fanfare. He is not the type to go shouting about anything that he does, and would much rather be in the background than at the the forefront of anything, preferring to follow, rather than lead. He respects authority that he feels deserves to be in the position they are in, but has been known to be angry and temperamental in regards to those he thinks are unworthy of their position. Respect, Lincoln has said, is always something to be earned, not expected of a good leader.
