Aubrey once again checked the address that Remarque had given her. It seemed odd that an abandoned warehouse would be the place to spar with other DMC members, but who was she to judge. After calculating the best way to mirror walk there she powered up to Fortuna.

It was still an odd sensation after so many years out of Destiny City to feel the mantel of power fall around her filling her with confidence and strength. She checked to make sure her sisters were sleeping soundly and then walked through the full length hall mirror she had placed for just this purpose.

Her brief walks through the city were quiet, her strides through mirror space were ominous, but finally Fortuna arrived at the specified ware house and made her way inside.

Fortuna had not met many other Dark Mirror Senshi's other than Remarque so she was feeling a mix of excitement and trepidation about meeting this one. Remarque had only given her his name, Ptolemaeus, and a brief description of him.

A quick glance around the room showed her that though it appeared abandoned on the outside it was still used fairly regularly for this purpose. She saw old gym mats in one corner and lanterns strategically placed around the room that would provide ample lighting without revealing to the outside that anyone was inside.

Having left early Fortuna had arrived first so all she could do now was wait for Ptolemaeus and hope that their practice would go well. It was painfully obvious from her brief sparring from Remarque that she needed a lot of help, and practice was the only way to achieve that.

Ptolemaeus didn't take too long to arrive at the warehouse as, living alone, he hadn't had to waste time trying to sneak out from his apartment. Since he'd graduated from high school and left his dorms, it was nice having a place to himself. It tended to get lonely too, though, which was why the dark mirror senshi ended up patrolling quite often.

Sometimes he would meet other powered beings, but it was rare he got to come into contact with others of the Dark Mirror Court unless there was a specific meeting to which they were summoned. During those times, there were usually too many of them to meet and find out about each individual properly and they were also generally busy doing whatever they had been summoned to do.

That was why Ptolemy was especially excited about this meeting. It seemed to be a one-on-one arranged by Remarque himself. Other senshi were always interesting to Ptolemaeus because unlike the pages, they often had magic and each one's was different. If nothing else, it was fun to find out what each senshi's domain and individual, unique power was.

The warehouse was certainly something to behold, particularly to the male who enjoyed drawing scenery that caught his eye. But at that moment, he was too eager to find the person within to pay all that much attention to his surroundings. "Hellooo~" he called, casually sauntering into the old building. "Anyone here already?"

Likewise biggrin

As Fortuna paced along the walls she examined them, seeing that some had started sketches on it she picked up a piece of charcoal and began sketching on a blank space. At first she wasn't paying attention to what she sketched but then on closer inspection she realized she had started to sketch a mirror. She didn't recognize it, but it felt familiar all the same like something from a dream, and as she let her mind wander she saw the picture become clearer. Just as she felt something would be revealed she heard someone enter.

Startled, Fortuna dropped the charcoal and turned to face the new senshi. Stepping away from the wall she brushed the charcoal dust off of her hands on her skirt and managed a smile on her lips despite the shaken feeling she had at the pit of her stomach.

One of the advantages to being a senshi was that her appearance was rarely ruffled as it could be in the civilian world, every hair was in place, and liked to remain that way, even her clothes didn't hold stains or dirt. It certainly would save on water and electric bills if all of her clothes could do that.

"Hey there, You must be Ptolemaeus... I'm Fortuna." She introduced as she crossed the space to get a better look at him.

Ptolemaeus regarded the charcoal drawing that the other senshi had been making on the wall. "Fortuna, huh? No one mentioned you were an artist," he said, admiring the sketch of the mirror while being careful not to touch.

"Nice work. Sorry about that; I didn't mean to startle you. But yeah, I'm Ptolemaeus. Senshi of Change. Pleasure to meet you, Miss Fortuna." He gave her a playful, grandiose bow at the waist - the sort a medieval lord might have given a noble lady. "I actually enjoy sketching a bit myself in my free time."

Fortuna laughed slightly. "Well, I did disappear for three years, and Remarque thought I was dead, he was the only one who knew about my hobbies so it's really not surprising that no one would mention me." Her voice was steady and didn't leave any room for questioning her reasons for leaving or returning. She was back now, and she was going to help the DMC that was all that mattered.

"It is an enjoyable habit, though I tend to do more painting than just charcoal sketching on walls." Fortuna shrugged and looked back at the mirror she had sketched. It still felt like she had seen it before, but she shrugged it off, they were not here to admire art work, they were here to train.

"Alright, so, Clearly I'm a little rusty from being gone so long, and I understand you haven't been a senshi for long, so this is really best for both of us to get some training down. What have you done so far? Have you figured out your magic? Personally I've always been better with my fists but I have trained in Aikido for years so that was always easy for me. Magic however has been... Unpredictable at best."

As she talked Fortuna sized up her companion, taking in details to better understand him and how best to spar. After all, she didn't want to hurt him, and she couldn't be out too late.

Ptolemaeus whistled at the news of how long Fortuna had been gone. He had been about to ask where or for what reason, but as the other senshi continued on with a different subject, he took the hint and let the matter drop.

"Yeah? Maybe we should paint together sometime. I love messing with liquid color," the teen said. "Could be fun."

He looked from the wall back to the young woman and listened to her words carefully before answering. "Honestly? I keep running into non-magic pages, chibi senshi, and cats, so I've hardly been able to practice any magic of my own at all.

"Being six-foot-three is helpful, I guess, but it makes me a pretty big target in hand-to-hand and I'm not really disciplined in physical fighting. Not really my thing," he explained. "So...would you be willing to practice some magic with me?" Ptolemy flexed his ringed fingers. "I'm not afraid of a little pain."

Fortuna grinned at the younger Senshi. "Yeah that might be fun." she responded in regards to painting together. She didn't have a lot of free time, but painting was soothing to the soul so she could find some time to do so.

"I am more than willing to practice magic with you, but mine doesn't cause pain, not like my fists will." She added with a small laugh. "But my fighting style has always been more about redirecting attacks and neutralizing opponents rather than hurting them."

Fortuna shrugged and made her way into the center of the room and turned to face Ptolemaeus with her arms open.

"Why don't you go first, give me your best shot." She said with a wink.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 30, 2016 4:57 pm

"Hehe...well, what I meant was that if whatever you wanted to do ended up being a little painful, I could take it," the teen explained. "Whether your physical fighting or otherwise. But this Aikido of yours...you say it's about redirecting and neutralizing? Sounds awesome." He considered this. "I guess martial arts is supposed to be about self-defense after all, right, rather than offense?"

Ptolemaeus tapped his chin as he regarded the other senshi before him and her invitation to start. "That's sweet of you," he said, smirking at her wink. "but this might pose a problem. See, the reason why I haven't really been able to use much magic so far is because my techniques aren't offensive, either. My power uses the other person's magic, so if they don't use any, neither can I."

"How about this? Since you at least have some physical combat experience, maybe you can teach me a little of that in between magic attacks. I can try to counter your magic attacks with mine, too, so we can both get some magic and physical combat training in. I mean, you never know which the enemy is going to use, right? Might even end up using both, so probably best to be prepared for anything."

Sailor Scout Attack: Loaded Dice:

This attack has a chance to affect Fortuna positively or her Foes negatively. Fortuna will raise both hands above her head with her wrists crossed, then brings them down in front of her, (a dice will be rolled to determine which attack; 1: odd it will target the enemy, and 2: even it will target Fortuna)

Option 1: as her hands reach the level of her chest the foe is overcome with a feeling of invulnerability and overconfidence, this will cause them to attack wildly and recklessly for 25 seconds, as time passes they become increasingly calmer and of sound mind until the debuff fades away completely.

Option 2: As her hands reach the level of her chest Fortuna is filled with confidence and adrenaline and will attack strongly and with precision for 25 seconds, as time passes the blows will decrease in power until the buff fades away completely.

Duration: the rush lasts for 25 seconds regardless of which target and decreases in potency as time passes, this attack can be performed twice a battle and will affect one target only.

Fortuna shrugged slightly. "Not all martial arts, Krav Maga for instance, is a brutal martial art form meant to destroy your enemy. My preference is still Aikido. Perhaps I can teach it to you, you could meet me some day at the gym in civilian form." She suggested.

When he explained about his magic she nodded. "Alright then, I will cast my magic, but it is already pretty unpredictable. Just prepare yourself, if you are targeted you might attack wildly, and If I am targeted... You better watch out." she added with a grin.

Taking a deep breath Fortuna raised her hands above her head and crossed her wrists, when she brought them down to chest level she said the name of her spell "Loaded Dice!" (Rolling for which effect) Fortuna simultaneously felt her magic level drop and her body fill with confidence. She paused for just a moment to see if her sparing partner would try to use his magic before she would rain down a flurry of blows.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 03, 2016 8:52 am

"Oh, I see," the teen remarked, wondering how many sorts of martial arts Fortuna knew of if not practiced. The suggestion to meet as a civilian surprised him before he realized that, in their instance, that might actually have been okay. They were on the same side, after all. "Alright, sure," he agreed, delighted with the invitation. "Hehe, sounds like we've already got our first date planned with painting and Aikido."

He nodded in acknowledgement when Fortuna agreed to cast her magic first, trying to recall what she had been the senshi of. He didn't think she'd told him and Remarque hadn't said much about her. "Unpredictability just makes things more entertaining in my opinion. Not to mention challenging, which is something we need for proper training." Ptolemy returned Fortuna's grin with one of his own as spread his stance and prepared to brace himself for whatever attack came his way. Not that he intended to let it hit him, but it was still better to be safe than sorry.

"'Loaded Dice'?" he repeated upon hearing her attack. "What are you, then; the Dark Mirror Senshi of Dice?" He flung out his own hand as if casting a net, his expression alive with excitement and the adrenaline that now ran through him upon the start of the battle. He had no idea what was coming or what was going to happen, but that was what made it so exhilarating. "Change of Subject!" he called with his gesture, causing colorful strings of light shoot forth from the mood rings on his fingers. The strings criss-crossed to create a vivid, luminous net that shot toward Fortuna and enveloped her just as her hands reached the level of her chest.

Ptolemaeus hesitated, uncertain of the outcome of their attacks. He already wasn't sure what Fortuna's attack was capable of, but then there was the question of whether or not his own attack had managed to intercept hers in time. Even if it had, though, it wasn't as if he had any better of an idea as to what the result would be. Being the senshi of change, his basic attack had the ability to alter another's magic, but in what way was anyone's guess.

Skysu
((Hehe, I like how you actually incorporate the dice post feature into Fortuna's attack! XD That's really cool!

Regarding the full details of Ptolemaeus', they're here, but basically if his attack was successful, his net would have wrapped around Fortuna and then the threads of light making up the net would melt into bright blue pools of light that cover her completely before fading out.

Its effect causes an attempted ally/enemy magic attack to continue without hindrance, but with its effects completely reversed. You, as the player of Fortuna, can interpret the reversal of the attack and how it affects her magic as you see fit!))

"Gambling." Fortuna responded with a grin as she felt her magic take hold, filling her with adrenaline. It was great for all of 5 seconds before she felt the foreign magic settle on her, violating what her magic was supposed to do.

Fortuna felt her magic constrict on her and she was filled with a feeling of invulnerability. She laughed darkly for a second before the overwhelming need to attack and destroy filled her very core.

Without any warning she attacked Ptolemaeus swinging wildly with three jabs towards his head, her eyes were dilated and an evil grin was on her face. All of her strict training and control was out the window. She pivoted on her left leg and shot a kick aimed towards his chest.

Her mind was in a fog and she could not control her actions. It was terrifying to feel her body do what it wanted without her consent. In a tiny part of her brain that was still aware of her surroundings she hoped she wouldn't hurt this kid too badly.

Kitomyx
haha, yeah it is fun.

The younger senshi's brows shot up as his senior began suddenly and aggressively attempting to hit him in the head. Whatever his magic had done - and from the manifestation of his magic, it certainly appeared to have worked on Fortuna's - it seemed the joke had been on him.

The first swing caught him in the jaw, but he managed to duck and withdraw fast enough to barely avoid the next two. He had been close enough to see the disturbing change in her features, though, and Ptolemaeus realized his opponent was no longer in her right mind. That didn't bode well for either of them, especially because she had a higher skill level in physical fighting and he wasn't sure he would have been able to subdue her if he tried.

Despite it all, however, Ptolemaeus wasn't the senshi of change for nothing. By changing his perspective, he could still see that there were some benefits to the situation. For one thing, Fortuna didn't appear to be holding back in the least, so he could try to gauge her full attack power and perhaps come up with a strategy to overcome it without worrying about any hidden surprises or techniques she was saving to unleash at the last moment. For another, since she didn't seem to be thinking straight, he doubted she had any other strategy in her mind just then other than to beat him to a pulp.

The kick aimed at his chest ended up knocking the air from his lungs as the young man fell flat on his back, winding him a second time and robbing him of whatever the kick hadn't. He struggled to draw in breath, but above all, focused his mind to stay calm. Ptolemy knew he wouldn't have been able to think up a solution to the problem at hand if he allowed emotions to get the best of him and cloud his reasoning. Rolling aside, he gasped for breath and managed to pick himself up in order to flee to a darker area of the warehouse.

Finding a place to hide, he quickly brought out the mirror shard he had been entrusted with and summoned the mirrorwraith that dwelled within. Setting it free, he allowed it to roam the premises. Hopefully Fortuna's altered self would be distracted by it and go for the wraith instead of him.

With each passing second the little part of her brain that could think grew a little larger was still in seek and destroy mode, when the other senshi ran away she tried to follow instantly but didn't pay attention to her surroundings at all and tripped over a box. She uncoordinatedly sprawled onto the ground but pushed herself up a second later to follow the boy. However it was enough time for him to get away and summon his wraith.

All thoughts and strategies were lost to her, but following a moving target was something she could comprehend still. As soon as the mirror wraith moved she charged towards it with a wild cry. When Fortuna reached the wraith she started to rain down blows on it, however since it was incoporial this did little good. Any blow that would have landed slid through the creatures body, leaving her feeling more and more drained with each blow.

Finally enough time had passed that Fortuna was able to regain control of her wild body and force it to stop attacking. Her first move was to get away from the Mirror Wraith which was still trying to suck all of her energy. She moved as far away from where she could still feel Ptolemaeus's energy signature and leaned against the wall breathing heavily.

"Dammit, I'm sorry Ptolemaeus!" she called from her spot on the wall. She kept an eye on the wraith but otherwise made no more threatening movements.

"We probably shouldn't do that little combo again...." Fortuna added as she slid down the wall so that she was seated.

"Are you alright?"

To his immense relief, Ptolemy's guess seemed to be correct in that Fortuna's current mindset might have been similar to an animal predator. His idea of said mindset was to search, hunt, and attack without much room for other thoughts like strategies or reasoning as to why other than following primal instinct. His own plan worked better than he'd dared to hope when the other dark mirror senshi's attacking of his wraith served not only to provide a distraction from himself, but to gradually drain her own energy and slow her down.

When Fortuna eventually moved away from his mirrorwraith, the male senshi called it back to his shard and stood, tentatively walking toward where his temporary opponent had retreated to. "Hey, hey, don't be sorry," he told her, his expression one of calm concern as he slowly approached. "I don't think either of us had any idea that was going to happen. I'm sorry I'm the one that did it to you," he added with a sheepish chuckle. "Though I'm still not exactly sure what happened."

Rubbing his jaw where he'd been punched, he gave her a lopsided grin as he came up to her and plopped down a few feet away to lean his back up against a crate. "I think I'm fine for the most part. Probably will have a few bruises in the morning, but it was worth it to see you going all out like that," he mused. "How about you? Any effects still lingering? Are you hurt? All that violence looked just as rough on your body as whatever you were hitting."

This is the last rp I need to level up, so if we could wrap it up soon that would be awesome biggrin

Fortuna laughed humorlessly. "Apparently two passive magics like ours have a... violent combination when I am targeted. Whatever your magic did turned my normal buff into what my attack normally does to other people. Not sure I needed a first hand experience, but hey... Now I can empathize with my opponents." Fortuna leaned her head back against the wall and eyed Ptolemaeus.

"I'm glad you aren't hurt, that was really smart of you to summon your wraith, I couldn't think of anything except attacking, and a moving target was a good distraction." She complimented as she examined her fists, they were cut and bruised, in her hazy state she didn't pay attention to how she landed her blows, and as a result did some damage to herself.

"I'll be fine, it's not the first time I'll be covered with bruises or cuts, and I doubt it will be the last." Fortuna said with a small shrug.

"I think that was enough excitement for tonight though, but we should definitely plan on getting in some practice at the gym. The techniques I could teach you would help with defending yourself, if you aren't able to run away."
