Sailor Ptolemaeus was out patrolling for civilians from which to...borrow some energy from. It was dusk and the growing shadows made it easy to prowl about without being too easily conspicuous, especially in an outfit as colorful as his. Crouching down behind one of the dumpsters in a back alley, the dark mirror senshi brought out the mirror shard that housed his mirrorwraith and summoned it into the open. He directed it toward a couple walking their dog in what dim light remained outside of what was produced by the street lamps.
Were they headed toward the park? Hmm...he supposed there would probably be a lot more couples there on park benches or taking romantic walks among the trees. It seemed as good a place as any to go draining energy. The couples would be so lost in the company of each other, they would have no reason to notice Ptolemy or his mirrorwraith.Stump_Fairy ((Sorry this took so long for me to make! Sailor Ananke had decided to go on one of her night strolls to mull over things that had happening. It was summer time so more people were out and about on the streets that glimmered from the lamps. Making her way through the park and everything was normal until she tripped and went through a super powered stumble until she found herself looking up at someone clad in black and blue. Orange eyes blinked still a little frazzled from her fall. “Um… hello?”

The Dark Mirror senshi raised his brows as he heard a noise and turned to see a female senshi on the ground at his feet. Lips parted slightly in surprise, his dark brown eyes met her orange ones before a sly grin slowly crossed his face.
"Hey, there, angel-face," he greeted, crouching down to offer her a hand. "Judging by that cute outfit and your energy signature, seems like you're a White Moon senshi. So what're you doing out here on your own? Come to find me and put a stop to my Dark Mirror deeds?"

Ananke blinked as she took the hand in front of her and smiled as she used it to help her get back to her feet. "Thank you!" She said in response to helping her up and calling her outfit cute. The last part he said then took a few seconds to process with her. "Eh?" She tilted her head. "Dark Mirror? ...Are you doing something bad?"

At the female senshi’s question, Ptolemaeus laughed. "I guess that depends on your definition of 'bad'," he replied as he helped her get back up. Funny how different Order senshi reacted to Dark Moon ones. Some were obviously unfamiliar with them; reacting negatively and acting as if they were part of the Negaverse or, like this young lady, unsure as to whether they were even enemies.
Ptolemy preferred the latter. They were more open-minded when it came to talking and interacting because they weren't convinced the other was out to get them. That didn't necessarily mean they'd be fine with Dark Mirror senshi deeds about when they did find out what their goals were, though.
"I wouldn't call it 'bad', exactly... All I'm doing is borrowing some energy from people who probably won't even know it's gone. Not a lot; just enough so that they won't notice. And it isn't like they can't get more, right?" He cocked his head at her. "Your turn. What are you out here for, if not to stop me?"

Ananke blinked. “Oh… um well.” To be honest she didn’t have a reason for going out. “Ummm I don’t really have a reason that I go out really… sometimes I just get the urge to wonder… though that usually gets me in some interesting situations.” Ananke laughed nervously. She then held her left arm with her right hand. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly and she seemed in deep thought for a second. “Um… doesn’t stealing energy from people still kinda hurt them?” Ananke asked the senshi that was dressed in black and blue. “Why is it necessary to steal energy anyway? I really don’t get most of this but…” Ananke let go of her arm and looked straight into the other senshi’s arm. “Isn’t there a way for all of us to talk things over before resorting to this like this?”

"Ohhh. Huh. Sounds like an interesting concept if you're an adventurous person. And you'd have to have some degree of courage, for sure, if you never know who or what you're going to run into." He smiled with new admiration for the girl with the flame-colored hair.
"I guess it might, depending on how it's taken, how much, and how fast," Ptolemaeus answered, shrugging. "But since we use Mirrorwraiths most of the time and those guys have to be subtle about things, they can't really go around gathering energy in large amounts or it'd be too noticeable. Unlike those Negaverse people, us Dark Mirrors aren't really all that big on attention. Prefer to keep to ourselves."
"As to why?" He beamed at her, eyes narrowing. "Their energy allows us to charge ourselves for battle. Wanna see?"
At her question to him, though, the male senshi seemed to soften a little. "There's always a way," he answered. "Nothing is for certain because all things change. But you have to be careful about what you say and how you say it because it's the smallest details that can cause the largest changes."
He moved his face right up to hers so that their noses were almost touching. "Why? What did you want to talk about?"

Ananke didn’t move as he invaded her personal space. “It seems kind of odd to me that you need to take other people’s energy to use your powers…” She stared unwavering into the blue senshi’s eyes. She smiled brightly. “I’m not sure if we’ll come to an understanding but my name is Sailor Ananke.” Her head tilted to the side slightly and her hair rolled over her shoulder. “I’m new to all this senshi business but if possible I’d like to protect everyone.” She closed her eyes and opened them again. “What about you? I think the first step to understanding one another is to introducing each other.” These wasn't a direct answer to his question but it was all she could think to reply to him with.

Ptolemaeus shrugged. “That’s just how Dark Mirror Senshi powers work, I guess. We don’t know too much about why ourselves." He seemed surprised at the steadiness of her gaze.
"Pleasure to meet you, Ananke," he said, his grin softening. "I'm Sailor Ptolemaeus, Senshi of Change. What are you the senshi of? Civil conversation? Human understanding? Friendly relations?" From his tone of voice, it was obvious he was teasing.
At the description of her desire, he chuckled. "That's sweet, cupcake, but not everyone wants to be protected. I've met some people who just want to wallow in their pain and misery, hurting and hurting others in turn." He shook his head. "There's no helping people who aren't willing to help themselves."

Ananke tilted her head. Just how mirror senshi powers work? But why? She blinked when he asked her about her powers. “Um, no I’m the senshi of portals.” The sarcasm seemed to go over her head but her eyes did seem to start sparkling. “Do you think there are senshi who have powers like that though? They must be super cool.” Ananke’s eyes seemed to droop. “So… I can’t protect them? Even though I want to?” Ananke puffed her cheek out in thought. “I’m going to try though… Um, hey Ptole… um… Ptoley, please don’t do bad things. There are a whole lot of other things you can do like enjoy the night sky or pet a fluffy animal!” Ananke’s eyes showed complete seriousness while she talked sort of childishly.

The dark mirror senshi smiled musingly at Ananke and chuckled. "There might be," he answered, feeling like he was, indeed, talking to a child. "But being a senshi of portals is pretty cool, too." Maybe it was because the girl wasn't selfish like a child and only seemed innocent or naive like one, but while Ptolemaeus normally detested children, he found Ananke to be somewhat endearing. It would have been all too easy to take advantage of her naievity, but for some reason he didn't feel like doing that. Perhaps because it simply was too easy. Instead he felt somewhat obligated to protect her and her child-like innocence - just like he felt with his little sister whom he had such trouble with.
"I'm not saying you can't protect them," Ptolemaeus corrected. "I just mean that you should be aware that some people don't want to be protected. It's a waste because not only are they ungrateful for your help, but the effort you put into trying to help them will have been for nothing. Not everyone deserves your kindness. If you act like they do, you'll end up getting walked all over by people who just want to take advantage of you, so be more careful."
He smirked at her attempts to say his name. "Just call me Ptolemy," he suggested. "Like 'TOLL-em-ee.' And again, sugar, it's difficult to say what's considered a 'bad thing' and what's not." He held up a finger matter-of-factly. "For example, you might call stealing and killing 'bad things'. But would it be a bad thing to steal medicine to save someone's life if you don't have the money to pay for it? Or what if you had to kill somebody to keep someone else from dying? Would that be a 'bad thing'?"

Ananke's face began to scrunch up and tears threatened to fall from her eyes. "Y-you just keep saying all these things to be mean!" Continuing to pout she threw her arms up into the air. "I get it! I get it already you won't listen to me reasonably...." She crossed her arms and scrunched her eyes shut. "I'll just think of another way to convince you... AH!" Her hair bounced and twirled as she turned to face Ptolemaeus. "Ptolemy! Let's have a battle!" She raised her fists to the sides of her face pumping them up and down. "If I win you have to give up energy hunting for tonight! I you win you can have my energy!" Ananke smirked. "Its a fair bet, right!" Kitomyx =w=; This was all I could think of to get this battle started...

"I'm not," Ptolemaeus said, all traces of amusement fading from his features as he saw her eyes become overbright with wetness. "I'm trying to explain to you why there's no such thing as just plain 'good' or 'bad'. What might be bad in someone's point of view could be seen as good in someone else's." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, pushing his hood back in the process. "Maybe it's too much to ask you to understand so quickly or easily, though."
"Huh?" He stared at her in astonishment as she suddenly proposed they have a battle. It took all he had to suppress the laughter that threatened to explode from him once he saw her pump her fists, but he managed. Not without a small grin escaping, however.
"I see. Those are some pretty noble stakes you're putting down, waging your own energy," he commented, regarding her with a sideways glance. "But alright; if you're sure." He took a few steps back even as he accepted her challenge, the gears of his mind already whirring away as he attempted to come up with some semblance of a strategy. The girl may have been child-like, but he wasn't about to underestimate her as an opponent in a proper battle.Stump_Fairy ((Aww, no, you're fine! It was a great idea; thanks! Sorry Ptolemy tends to talk too much. ^_^; I don't think either him or Ananke are much for fighting, huh? And that matches how neither of their attacks are offensive.))

Evren giggled taking a few steps back. “I don’t think it noble or anything. Like I said I just want to protect everyone.” She smiled as she slid one of her heels back taking a proper fighting pose. This was just a way she could think of that kept normal people safe and do something to help Ptolemy out in some small way that didn’t look like it was a handout. “Besides my wager is a bit more selfish don’t you think? If I win or lose I still get something out of it.” Honestly, she didn’t expect to be able to win she had never fought a person before. But she just kept on smiling best to just fight to the best of her ability then. “I’m ready to fight when you are.”

"That's what makes it noble," Ptolemy protested. "But you know...the Dark Mirror Court is taking measures to protect everyone too." Seeing her get into a fighting stance, he followed suit and did the same. "Anyway...I'm curious as to what you can do, Senshi of Portals."
"Huh?" The male senshi stared at Evren, perplexed. "How do you get something out of it if you win or lose? You are the strangest girl," he chuckled. "I can't figure out how you would see that as being selfish at all!"
No, he couldn't do it. She was too pure-hearted. Neither of them were fighters; that much was clear. If they were going to 'fight', it wasn't likely going to be physical. Shaking his head, Ptolemaeus straightened up from his stance and walked over to her, studying her face a minute before reaching up to flick her in the forehead with his thumb and index finger.
"If you're going to wait for me to attack and I'm going to wait for you, I think we'll just be waiting here forever. Besides," he added with another chuckle, "my senshi powers don't work unless the other person uses theirs first."
