Swish. Swish. Swiiiish. Epinard's walking stick swiped across the floor as he wandered down the hall. He always left his classes a little early so he could get himself situated in to the next class before the rush of the hallways. There were some days where Epinard could handle the large crowds, but most day he's struggled to navigate the hallways when there was too much stimuli. Epinard had a bad habit of getting easily overstimulated by sound, and with the school so cramped with students it was easy for his remaining senses to overload.

Epinard paused as the hallway split off in to three more directions. He knew Science was just around the corner, and the previous class of juniors would be leaving soon. Lifting his hand to the wall, Epinard patted it until he felt the corner meet with the next hall way, then turned left and continued on his way.

It wasn't too much longer before Epinard arrived at his class. The Baphomet stopped long enough to fold up his walking stick and tuck it under his arm before reaching for the door handle and twisting it. The door swung open, and Epinard slowly slid in. Flora greeted him with a happy little hello, and Epinard gave a small nod and a smile in a completely different direction.

"Hello, Ms.Flora ... " Epinard offered in greeting. He could hear the students shuffling around as they packed up from their finished lesson. "I'm a little bit earlier than usual. Please, don't let me interrupt."

Epinard used his hands to feel along the edge of the desks, heading for the back of the room to find his seat that was always left empty before quietly settling in to it and pulling his own bag off his shoulders, setting his walking stick on to the table.

Sprout was usually timely. It just happened sometimes they saw people they knew in the hallway, and then time became something fictional, and then it was a whole minute after the warning bell had rang. Thankfully the Fallen had yet to hit a sore spot with Flora, so they fluttered about as fast as they could in order to reach Science class. Life was sort of easy when you could soar above the heads of your peers but that did not help very much when Sprout didn't have a time machine. Yet. He'd figure it out with tin foil and paper mache one day.

Shutting the door carefully behind them, Sprout skirted along the backside of the classroom nearly immediately. Without second thought they looped an arm around the shoulders of the nearest student, the chair squeaking against the tile as it scooted under Sprout's butt. "Did I miss a lot?" they asked in a loud half-whisper, ducking their head as they tried to free their books one handed, the other hand still on Epinard's arm as the Fallen leaned away.

Sprout hummed shortly, lifting their eyes to the front of the room. Man, it was a little hard to read the board back here, wasn't it?

Epinard felt the arm loop around his shoulders before he heard the person it belonged to. The baphomet straightened out, straining to tune in to the person next to them as they spoke, attempting to block out the other sounds at the room filled with last minute stragglers. "No, the class has barely begun." Epinard offered a polite smile as he organized his books on his desk. They were deep in to the chemistry unit right now, and Epinard found himself struggling with the labs they had to do. "I think Flora might still be preparing today's lab. I wonder what it'll be this time. The last demonstration sounded absolutely fascinating. The whirring was so loud ... like a chain saw ... !"

The Fallen's arm fell away, mostly as they struggled to pull out the heavy lab books with only one hand. At the thought about Flora, Sprout squinted at the front of the room. Yes, the teacher was still busy trying to organize the stations as various students fluttered about, already eager for the potential to light something on fire. "Labs are fun," they informed the other a bit enthusiastically, a smile spreading across their lips.

"The whirring sound?" Sprout questioned, ear tufts wiggling as they tried to recall what had happened in class lately. "Oh, all the sparky metals. I think the light it made was a lot cooler, you could use it in stage plays and stuff if it wasn't so loud. I guess that's why they use actual lights and stuff and magic but whatever," Sprout rattled happily.

A small, polite smile formed on the baphomet's lips, his head turning towards the sound of his companion's voice. He wasn't quite looking at him, Epinard's blue eyes foggy and blue from the cataracts that formed the day he was born. A small crack in his stone had left him blind. Epinard never remembered a day where he couldn't see, where he didn't have to depend on other stimuli to get around. Though, he had to admit, his hearing was rather spot on because of it.

"I didn't see it, I'm afraid." his tone was gently, non-assuming. "I am sure it was magnificent, though! You can't sound like that and not have a beautiful story to tell through sight."

Sprout blinked once, mouth parted the slightest as they digested the words but the Fallen barely missed a beat at Epinard's strange way of phrasing things. "I dunno," the green-winged Fallen cooed in response, gripping the edge of their lab manual as they focused back up on Flora, a eye to the side to let the other Nightmare know they still had their attention.

"I don't consider carriage crashes all that pretty, but they make some pretty loud sounds," the Fallen informed. They weren't trying to be an a**, a finger going to their lower lip as they considered. "That's... not really a brilliant sound either," Sprout conceded easily after a second thought. They tapped their fingers, a new smile on their face as they continued to whisper-talk. "I like your hat, green's my favorite color." Sprout's necklace tinked quietly off of the desk as they fidgeted around in their seat. A semi-good pupil did they make.

"Carriage crashes?" Epinard pondered aloud. That sounded rather morbid, but to some extent Epinard supposed the other student was correct.

The baphomet shifted in his seat, a little closer to the sound of the other's voice, his delicate hands reaching up to touch the hat resting gently on his head. "My hat?" The baphomet asked, a small smile slowly spreading across their lips. "Thank you! Green, hmmn? I'm not sure I can honestly say I have a favourite colour." Epinard felt a joke coming on. "I guess you could say they all look the same to me!" The young boy chortled at that. Epinard had always been one who could joke with himself about his disabilities. As far as he was concerned, Epinard's impairments could have been much worse had his stone been further damaged. He counted himself lucky.
