Walking the halls of the tower

Of Note: This RP took place in skype during the meta. It took place right after THIS post. Just been uber lazy about actually posting it. SO HERE IT IS.

Chiara
Chiara faked a scoff. "Maintenance?! Oh glob no!" She shot the redblood a mischievous grin. "Special ops, of course. Just here, because the other fools here don't seem to be able to even keep a stupid machine running right." Chiara rose her eyebrows at the redblood. "But your obviously not one of those fools.... right?"

Ephias
Ephias placed the smoking device down on the concrete floor as the blueblood, where it could not harm anything. He squatted down beside it, resting on his heels. He crossed his wrists over his knees. He looked relaxed, but he was ready to spring back at a moment's notice.

"That depends," Ephias replied, not looking back up at her. "What are the obvious trademarks of a fool?"

Chiara
Chiara laughed out loud, almost splitting her sides. "Oh man!" She finally managed to say as she caught her breath. "That was a good one. Ha!" Chiara kneeled down to examine the assortment of parts that had just then come flying off the machine. "How about who ever let this pile of trash get through quality control?"

Ephias
Was she normally this jovial? Or had what he said really been that funny? He had no time to question it, as at that precise moment the machine burst with a bang. Ephias jumped, rolling onto his back. Hot parts shot across the room.

The blueblood knelt down beside him, examining debris. Ephias sat up. "That sounds like a reasonable assumption." He reached out and flicked the device with the metal casing. At his touch, the metal casing collapsed. "It's probably not... not good for much else than scrap now. Sorry about that."

Chiara
Chiara rolled her eyes at the "sorry". "Yeah, cuz it was defiantly all your fault man. you totally touched it last." With a sigh Chiara stood up. "Maybe we can find its cerial number or something... find the bucket-filth that "OK"ed this in the first place." Stretching her back, Chiara shrugged. "Or whatever. I feel like that's not really gonna change anything anyway. Oh, you never said, what devision are you in?"

Ephias
Ephias twitched at the vulgar language. Normally impassive, it took all his willpower to avoid making a face. The wreckage meanwhile continued to smoke in the middle of the room. Getting to his feet, Ephias glanced around. There had to be a broom and dustpan somewhere. Maybe a janitorial closet. Who knew how far off that could be though.

Going over to one of the desks, Ephias settled for grabbing a metal trash bin. He dropped it next to the detritus. Then he got down onto his knees and began to toss the scrap inside.

"Covert operations," Ephias replied, "as well as research." He dropped a large chunk of metal into the trash with a clang. "That's the problem with allowing volunteers without any prior experience to manage themselves. Unless you have some kind of screening process mistakes are going to happen."

Chiara
Chiara stood there, not really watching the other troll as he cleaned up some of the mess, but not really helping either. She was thinking, a slight frown on her face. "Even tho this thing is mainly volinteers, it is a little suspicious how slow things are going." Chiara looked across the large open space that was the Civisect science dome, watching experts and fools alike bumbeling their way around."Feels like sabatosh." Chiara looked at the redblood out of the corner of her eye, looking for a reaction. If he really was Covert Ops he should have noticed something at least.

Ephias
"Could be," Ephias said, plunking another piece of garbage into the bin. "Or it could just be incompetence. But if it is sab-sabotage..." He had cleaned up most the mess. Dusting his hands of a layer of soot, he rose to his feet. "I wonder who would be behind such a thing." Returning the bin to below a desk, Ephias turned to face Chiara. He half-leaned and half-sat on the edge of the desk.

"Th-there's been some pretty typical lapses in security, lapses that... that could easily be taken advantage of by our competitors. I like to think that they would only use information to improve their own construction rather than hinder ours though. It's more important that a space ladder is b-built rather than who builds it." He scratched the back of his head. "Aside from that, I can't think of any f-faction that would discourage cosmic advancement. It's beneficial to everyone."

Chiara
Chiara watched the other troll get comfturable, her usual smile in place. She couldn't quite tell if the stutter was the redblood lying, or just some defect he happened to be born with. She tilted her head, and made a "hum" sound, thinking about what the redblood had said. "Good way of looking at it. Very... mutually beneficial." Chiara's mind went to the Panili Prediction, and the chaos and pain it was said to bring. "But not all trolls are as noble and pro racial advancement as we are." The blueblood moved to lean against the same desk the other troll was currently resting on, and made herself comfturable. It fostered equality, the blueblood noticed, and sometimes made lowbloods less hesitant, not that this lowblood was really acting subservient at all. Still, Chiara made the gesture, equality with trolls that were worthy of it was important to her. "Rumor has it that... something... might happen." Chiara shrugged, she still wasn't sure about the Prediction the orangeblood had said she had, it very well might just be rumor. "But "something" is always bout to happen. just no telling if its gonna be good, or bad."

Ephias
Ephias' gaze turned sharp, almost hostile, at Chiara's words. He stared at her a long moment, trying to discern whether she actually knew anything. "Just from past experience I would assume bad," he said at last. After all, he could not remember the last time something had not gone wrong. He crossed his ankles. "'Something' is pretty vague though. Are you just d-digging for information or do you know something?" Ephias had never been one to beat around the bush. He continued to regard Chiara sceptically, expression intense.

Chiara
Chiara quirked an eyebrow at the other troll's hostile stare. Yeah, he wasn't hiding anything. This guy knew something at least. But that didn't mean Chiara even had to acknowledge it. "HA" Chiara laughed sharply "That's for sure, we are a pretty dam unlucky race, huh?" Chiara crossed her arms and grinned at the redblood's straightforward comment. She shrugged in response to his question. "Like I said, rumors. Nothing concrete." She held out a hand to the other troll. "Funny tho, we haven't even introduced ourselves! I'm Chiara."

Ephias
Ephias stared at Chiara's hand like it was a piranha, poised and ready to strike. Then stiffly he offered his own. "Degras Tysson. Nice to meet you." He shook with the grip of a corpse. "I guess I'll be seeing more of you."

Chiara
Chiara grinned her grin and shook ephias's hand with a lot more energy than he did hers. "You will, I wolnt keep you waiting long" Chiara took out one of her contact cards. "But don't call right away, don't you know you've gotta wait at least 2 days till you call?" With that Chiara gave the redblood a wink and went back to her own information gathering.
