Avery's diary has a quilt pattern to its binding and front/back covers. It's carefully tied shut with a little threadbare ribbon.

Style: Avery's clothes tend to look a little worse for wear, even if they're "new." He likes it that way.

Avery came into existence shortly before the shutdown of the Academy. He never really got a chance to be with his family before things hit the fan, and has spent the last 20 years just sort of... bouncing from community to community. He's never felt stable enough to move on to the next stage, but Avery doesn't really seem to mind.
Avery is a little capricious, though his tricks and pranks are rarely serious. He delights in giving others a good scare, though. Since the Sanctuary opened, Avery had taken to "haunting" the grounds, and is a little resistant to having an actual parental figure looking out for him after all these years on his own. Needless to say, despite his stage, he's unusually intelligent and mature for a "toddler", but is still very much a child.

Description of Power:
Avery can produce a few strands of thread from his wrists. The thread can really only be used to patch up ripped clothes, or tie things together that this stage. It's easy to break.

- Thread size is limited to 1ft in length
- Thread is just normal thread at this stage, nothing special

Description of Power:
By attaching some of his thread to an object, Avery can manipulate it at will as long as the thread remains attached to it. Breaking the thread, or having it come loose will end the control. At this stage, Avery can only control inanimate objects.

Limits:
- Highest roll wins
- Command must be within reason
- Lasts 1 round
- Cannot be used on living creatures/people at this stage

Since Avery is bound to thread, sharp objects are very intimidating and scary for him. Sharp weapons can also cut through his thread rendering him helpless. Sewing needles of all sorts do not threaten him, though.

Being bound to thread has made Avery rather loose. Getting hit with fists, or other blunt objects doesn't phase him very much, since he just rolls with the blows.
