﹍﹎﹍﹎Hitching a Ride
Avery had been lots of places over the years, but tended to stay near to where the old Academy had once stood. It wasn't always very easy being technically a toddler while also actually being fairly old - Avery was largely defenseless on their own, but for whatever reason... they'd never grown. But they wanted to fix that - they were sure they were ready now, something just seemed to be holding them back. They'd seen the flyers when the Sanctuary first opened, but hadn't managed to find a way to get there.
Things were becoming hostile in Belrad - Avery didn't really know why, exactly. Something about another city being destroyed... and Metas were to blame? It all went over their head, really. But they knew they had to leave, whether they were really prepared for it or not. A lot of Metas were leaving, too, but not all were so keen on having a Shadow accompany them. Although their intimidation aura was weak, it still put already nervous people on an even greater edge.
Just when they were considering just trying to make the journey themself, they spotted a peculiar looking man in the park they used to play in. He seemed to be eating lunch, judging from the takeout bag... but that wasn't what really caught Avery's attention. The tail he had did. They'd never seen anyone with a tail like that before. The fact that he was alone was promising - fewer people to object to Avery hanging around... they just had to make sure he was going in the same direction they wanted to go.
And so... Avery invited themself onto his bench and into his lunch bag (they were hungry, after all). He didn't seem to care that much despite the scolding they ended up getting.. but as it turned out, he was going to Sanctuary, and said he would take them with him...

﹍﹎﹍﹎Home - Kind Of
I'm going back home! Kind of home. Is it home? I didn't live there very long. Maybe I will finally grow up when I get there. Mr. Sono is very funny, I like his tail. He tries to be stern but I can tell he doesn't really mean it. I think I will play hide-and-seek with him! That will make him loosen up I think.

I made a new friend! Her name is Agar. She makes mushrooms! And also friendship bracelets. She gave me a mushroom, so I gave her some thread... and she made us friendship bracelets so we match.
Agar's Gwin is going to teach us how to swim.
I am excited.

Mister Sono is going to let me stay in his house while he is here. But he said that when he leaves, I have to stay in the dormitory with the other kids that don't have parents. That's okay. He said he is going to try to stay for a long time.
I am going to meet his brother soon. He said they are not really related but they are each other's family anyway.
Is Mister Sono my family now?
