Abel tapped her foot lightly against the ground as she waited for her friend to come and pick her up. It had been ages since she had seen her best friend, and was had to cancel on her so many times it was insane. All of her exams and projects seemed to be happening at all the same times, and it left no room for people outside of her demoness if Abel wanted a little play time with her.

Of course, things still remained mostly innocent. Aami wanted to wait until Abel was of age before they really got anymore serious,but Abel was slowly growing impatient. It was a complicated situation. Aami was much older than her, and Abel was still a Junior. While her birthday was fast approaching, the last, final year of school just around the corner, Abel felt like she was constantly holding her breath and waiting for some sort of magical transformation to take place.

Abel just wanted to be herself with Aami, and all that entailed ...

Giving a small huff, her shoulders slumping, Abel's foot tapped more loudly against the pavement, chewing on her inner lip as she tried her best not to lose her patience further with her tardy friend.

What was that? Abel could vaguely hear something over her music, but she wasn't quite sure if it related to her at all. Lifting her phone to check what song was up next, a familiar figure approached, looking immensely haggered. Abel blinked, yanked out her headphones and gasped lightly!

"Nausi!? What happened to you!" Abel closed the distance between them, letting the hybrid rest gently against her. Abel wrapped one of her fluffy arms around the hybrid's back, trying to help prop her up. Nausi looked rather ill, and a look of concern washed over Abel's face.

"Naus, honey. Are you ill? You could have cancelled ... what's wrong?"

Abel had to fight the urge not to drop Nausicaa right then and there.
" ... you mean to tell me I'm worrying for nothing?" Abel heaved a sigh, reaching in to her oversized purse for her water bottle. She bit the top off her bottle and raised it to the hybrid's mouth.
"Here. Drink." she commanded, tilting the bottle lightly so that Nausicaa could drink from it. The bottle was still a little chilled, so it might shock the hybrid's system slightly if Nausi was too dehydrated, but she did need to rehydrate. As much as she might be irked at her friend's stupidity, Abel wasn't going to subject her to the effects of heat stroke.
"Slowly. You'll get cramps."

Abel's sweet expression returned to her, facial features relaxing as she noticed her friend was recovering. It made her relax a little know that she could help Nausicca out, even if it was just saving her from herself.

"Aaw, sweetie! Why didn't you just call me? I would have waited. I ... I admit ... " Abel blushed lightly, looking a little embarrassed. "I was ... getting a little impatient! Oh, I'm so sorry, Nausicaa ... forgive me?" Abel knew that her friend would tell her there was nothing to apologize for, but the imp felt a mighty need to make sure it was known that she was deeply apologetic.

Abel couldn't repress a giggle from bubbling up, her whole body quivering with the force of the laughter. Really, how could she have expected this day to go any differently? "We're going to the new aquarium!" she breathed excitedly. "And then we were going to try the new tapas bar that opened up last month for a late lunch. Which, if we're going to make our reservations on time, we should probably think about heading out soon! We have to walk down a few blocks to the portal that'll take us there."
