Alrighty, wonderful Bartobs. It's May 2016, so the Rejected Olympics, should they happen this year (spoiler alert: they should!), will be coming up in July or so.

That being said, the guild is in need of major cleanup from top to bottom. Entire subforums will have to be cleared out, renamed, and repurposed. Some will have to be emptied. The Memory Lane subforum will also have to be navigated somehow to determine which threads should be kept.

The issue with this is a good chunk of our wonderful crew from the last four years is either completely inactive on Gaia or the guild, and I have been quite busy myself. That leaves a large gap in what can be done, especially with our Vice Captains being inactive.

So! What I am proposing is to promote some of our more active crew members to Vice Captain, should they accept, and to bring in some more active members to the crew ranks. And to really streamline the whole crew, I will be discussing demoting less active members for the more active ones that I want to promote. This, of course, won't be done without anyone's permission, so that's what this thread is for.

(Ongoing) List of changes to occur:
Chibi Halo and Hot Caffeinated Cree will be promoted to Vice Captain
Yuusha Asagi will no longer be Crew
KaguraSakata, Celestine Ravencroft, and Inei Alumei will be added to Crew

This first bit is mainly for our less active crew members. First and foremost, I would like to ask all of you who compose our current crew whether or not you wish to remain so. As I know some of you are not very active, I also wish to inform you that anyone who does not respond by the end of the month will be demoted from the crew, barring one exception.

Secondly, I wish to promote our more active crew members, Hot Caffeinated Cree and Chibi Halo to the rank of Vice Captain. As our current Vice Captains are not very active, and I am becoming much less active due to work, we need people to perform important Captain duties like handling Bartob, editing subforums, and messing with the guild settings. You will also be allowed to change the banners at your discretion. Of course, I am not forcing anyone into extra duties if they don't want them.

And lastly, I propose keeping Cynoscion as a permanent member of the crew, possibly as Vice Captain, to commemorate him as our guild founder. If anyone objects to this (especially you, Sam), feel free to let me know.

To our current guild members:

As of now, our only really active crew members are Cree and Cheebs. Even I'm not very active much, though I do try to show up every now and then and participate. As such, I would like to promote several of our members to new crew positions to help the cleanup process as we prepare for the Rejected Olympics 2k16, as well as to maintain the overall status of the guild after RO has ended. If you are interested, please let me know, though I do have some names in mind.

In all seriousness though, while I am still waiting for the next Rejected Olympics to see whether or not it'll revitalize my interest in participating in things I can't say I should remain Crew. I'm not good at administrative tasks and I don't frequent the forums as much as I should. Crew shouldn't just be a status thing I have because I've been here a while.

          Hey I'm more than happy to take on the higher position Chef. I know Cree does way more for the guild than I do in that she keeps this place fresh and tidy. This summer I'm definitely going to be focusing on this place and getting us ready for the Rejected Olympics. That's going to be priority number one after my weekly plot stuff. 3nodding

Thank you, Cheffie. emotion_hug I promise I'll keep track of things and make things tidy for the guild, but also make sure to get done what needs to be. Cheebs has helped me a lot with event set up outside of the guild, and I really appreciate it. I also am so happy to have everyone here in the guild, you're all my family here; I love you guys. I'm glad the few of us have stuck through all of this, even if we've had some dry periods, and many have come and gone. Even they are still guildies at heart, and I really can't wait for the next Rejected Olympics to come around, so we can have even more memories and fun here. cat_whee

I'm up for whatever. It's not like I'm not around. I am here, it's just that my job doesn't really allow me to do Towns meets anymore because I need to get to bed on time, and then work days are a royal pain (getting home at 2 AM when my work day is from 2 PM to 10 PM is not fun). I'm still active and try to run mini events from time to time. And I am still doing art, I just need to figure out how to schedule it around my work life. I will participate in RO as much as work and RL chores/necessities will allow.


As to things getting done around here:

1.) The Lounge subforum really needs clearing since that place is pretty much dead.

2.) Repurposing subforums ideas:
>Fanclub area for things like Star Wars, Marvel/DC, Sailor Moon, etc.
>Headquarters for Barton in world based threads (i.e the Senshi RP, Barton Glossary, Historical Records Archive, etc.)
> subforum dedicated to item or color scheme guides
>more ideas when I think of any<

If you don't mind, I'd be happy to help out. I guess it could be considered a little apology for not being active for around 2 years. Even though I have 2 more years in school (meaning a crap ton of exams and assignments nearing may/june) I don't do a lot of extra-curricular, and I'm a master at hiding my ipad in class. If you need me as crew, I'll make sure to remain active if that's the case.

Those are some good idea's, I was actually thinking myself that the scout RP deserves is own place or even your barton record archive, you could add in the thread that started it all as well. It's a shame you cant get rid of subforums we proablly have a couple to many.

Those are some good idea's, I was actually thinking myself that the scout RP deserves is own place or even your barton record archive, you could add in the thread that started it all as well. It's a shame you cant get rid of subforums we proablly have a couple to many.


We do have a lot of subforums, but from my perspective, only about four really need to be re-purposed, and that list I made covers 3 out of 4, pending on whether or not other people like the ideas as well. A subforum rededicated to everything Barton, including our RP and all those other threads, would be a great way to reuse what we have. I think we could turn the Marketplace sub into Barton Central. The old Game Discussion sub could become the fanclub sub.

The list looks good, and I think you can probably just put Artist Street as a stay since we do still have people with active art shops, even if the traffic is a bit slow. I think we should have bi-weekly announcements to highlight certain subforums to keep up interest and awareness. This would be especially helpful if we get a lot of new members during RO.

The announcements could be sort of like the ads you see on TV where a certain shops sponsors the ad. "This announcement brought to you by....." You know what I'm talking about. It would be really good to promote guild events and subs at the same time.
