If you don't Miitomo is kinda of a spin off of Tomodachi Life, Which is a life sim where you take care of a town of Mii's(Wii avatars). Everyone loved it for how dumb and fun it could be.
So they made an app which you do the same thing but you only have your Mii that will try to copy who you are and ask you questions like "What is your favorite food?" and they will tell over peoples mii's what your favorite food is.
If anything Nintendo remade facebook with mii's. (I would add pictures but I'll do it when i get back home.)
