His first thought had been 'Where would Jeremiah go?' which then turned into, 'Where would Jeremiah think Zac would go'. Which obviously was the bookshop.. followed by the library and since he'd started at one- Algie held a tartan print umbrella over his head, as he stood in front of the building and looked up at it. It, of course, looked a billion times more creepy than it ever had before. He reached out and took the handle but when he jostled it, it seeme firm shut. Zac turned towards the door wide eyed, Mogget perked on his shoulders. The fact that the cat's tail hadn't become a white imitation of a pipe cleaner made Zac slightly less nervous at least he still glanced Wide eyed to Jeremiah. He pointed quietly towards the umbrella - the ridiculous one with golden ghosts... But still a weapon of a sort. He then reached for the door, paused for Jerimiah to prepare... Then opened the door.

Jeremiah and Zac had been about to go out. They had scheduled regular trips out to explore other ashdown for additional supplies. The library had become their base point because despite the sounds, the creepiness, it was far more tolerable than the uneasiness that overcome them when they were out too long in other ashdown.
With the rattling door, Jeremiah gave Zac a short nod. The umbrella was tossed to hold onto as a weapon, Jeremiah going to open the door. He waited a moment to see if it would rattle again.
It did.
Another nod to the young man to stand to the side at the ready, Jeremiah pulled open the door. Only to blink when he saw Algie there. "Alg?" Jeremiah was not even thinking about, stepping out of the library to grab his arm.
Stop him from turning and leaving.

Algie was turning to go because the library was clearly locked, when he heard his voice and a hand hooked his elbow. He nearly jumped out of his skin at the sudden noise in the weird quiet of this version of the town. The green eyed man spun, alarmed, and just punched Jeremiah square in the face. It was a reflex of self defense, too many past barfights and too sensitive to jump scares, but as soon as his fist slammed into the side of Jeremiah's nose he hissed and drew his aching hand back and shook it. "s**t! Jeremiah?! ******** hell. s**t," That hurt.

Jeremiah expected it, he really did. Where the detective had played rugby and soccer football in school, Algie had taken up boxing. Despite not practicing, not actively being in the sport, the man still retained the skill and his upper body strength had always been surprising.
He tried to step out of it but he felt the hit, swore loudly, and crumpled to the ground holding his nose. The detective was silent, not saying a word, hand cradling his face. "'lo, Alg," his voice came out nasally, distorted even. Still not letting go of his face. He forgot how hard the other man could hit. His vision was still black at the edges.
"It's Algie, Zac, could you ... bring me one of those bandage packs?"

Zac full body flinched at the sound of fist versus face. ".... bugger" he said with an apologetic flinch. "Yyyyeahhhhhh, sorry 'Book Dad'" he grimaced and dug through the bandage packs till he found one that seemed right for the situation. "sorry, neither of us were expecting anyone else. We were actuality about to head out. Did um... You talk to Sunny too?"

"Zac?" Algie looked past Jeremiah for the young man, still shaking his hand. AT least they'd found one another. Algie's relief was palpable, written all over his face, before it turned into a huffy sort of indignance. He began finger waving at both of them, and Mogget. "I talked to Sunny several times actually," Finger wag, "BUt what were either of you doing messing around with her?" Without him, "Zac?? Jeremiah?!" Explanations please. Or apologies. Those would work too. "But she didn't send me here." He looked suddenly concerned, and his tartan umbrelly was pulled close to his chest as the rain still fell, "I woke up here.." Algie offered a hand to help Jeremiah up, "Up we go."

Jeremiah took the bandage package from Zac, tearing it open and pressing it to his nose to catch the bit of blood that was flowing. Since his bell had been rung he did not even manage a look at Zac for saying bugger.
Not that he would. Jeremiah had no desire to be a hypocrite at the moment.
Jeremiah grabbed at Algie's offer hand, his fingers sliding against the other man's pulse point at his wrist before he slid to hold onto his forearm to pull himself up. "Three days of fog, the rain will come. Then you'll see it for true," he spoke, his voice still distorted because busted nose. "Sounds like you're seeing it for true, Alg."
Pulling away the bloody bandaging, he was touching at his nose. "<********>," he grunted, "it's not broken but you still pack a mean hook." The detective already had the beginning of two black eyes however. If you wanted him to explain, you probably should not have cleaned his clock, Algie.

“Nice shot though…” Zac said with the admiration of one who was very grateful that he’d not been on the receiving end of that punch. “So much for you making it out of here unharmed, but at least …it was friendly fire?” He said with a flicker of a nervous ‘trying to make light’ grin. “What was that thing you said though?” he asked cautiously. “Three days of fog? Rain?” I’m guessing that’s from…Sunny but… do you have any clues about what that means? Do… she can’t mean, I mean, there is rain HERE, what if she means like, the two places overlap?” There was worry in his face when he said that. “Sorry… um…back to your question. I was trying to get answers about the kids so I went to sunny, she sent me here, Jeremiah says it was… something to keep me safe?” He sounded suspicious about that particular motive but he wasn’t going to press. “And then she sent him here because she then couldn’t get me -back- out? He glanced at Jeremiah cautiously to be sure he’d said the right thing, “And to get the kids back. Apparently he made a deal with her.” He patted Jeremiah’s arm. “Uh… if he’s here, maybe we should look around more, it feels like things are, I don’t know…in motion.”

"Both of you-" He was finger wagging now, "Messing about with Sunny by yourselves-" It wasn't the messing about that bothered him, it was not including the others. Being stuck alone had certainly been no fun, the worry was the worst part. "Either way we had the fog and rain," He looked up and around, "And now I'm here."Algie's eyes drifted back to the pair, he was stupidly relieved even through his bluster. "Anyone need an umbrella? I've two." He offered it out. "Then we should probably be searching..."

Zac’s head turned away, guilt, refusal to make eye contact, determination, stubborn. He was every bit the son of his pseudo foster Dad’s. “Jeremiah has one.” Zac said quietly. “But I’ll share with someone if that’s alright. Its that or stay here and I’m not really up for staying alone in the creepy library of screams and chanting… even if it does have books that are ah… unlike any I’ve found elsewhere. “I’m ready when you guys are… you might end up with Mogget … on shoulder games duty. We’re not sure how he got here but, maybe the same way you did.” He rubbed at the cat’s ear just beside the jaw to resultant toe curls and purring. “We can tell you about the books on the way I think… sound good?”

"Can't believe I forgot to mention that," Jeremiah was using a bandage to put across his nose, head tilted back to stop anymore blood. "It's something Sunny said. I honestly believe with the weather here ... it's more like September than March. You're not far off, Zac." Opposites, all most, this other ashdown and Ashdown.
There was something on the tip of his tongue, seeing Algie, but it was lost because of the punch and then the light scolding. "It was not much of a choice," he stared hard, though it was ruined with the bruising that was appearing. "Sunny called in my chip." That promise he made. "I was going to come in to the shop and talk with you and she yanked me here." He blinked. "... but if you're here, that means ..."
They were all seeing it for true. That they all had something in this. That they all had some strange power. He let out a huff when Zac mentioned the umbrella and he was leaning to take it from the young man. "I'll just keep this one - as much as I loathe it, I'll not infect it upon anyone else."
Jeremiah blinked a few times, making sure his vision was clear, and turned to see the library was shut behind them. For now there was no reason to go back. "We'll tell you about what we've found, what little that is, and ..." A breath. "The damn power I have now." He raised a hand and pointed towards town hall. "We were heading that direction. On our list of places to look at and explore today."

Algie offered Zac the extra umbrella while finally noticing Jeremiah's for the first time. He snorted, but it was a reminder and the shorter man rustled in his pockets, and held up the detective's keys and cell phone, "Found these." His finger then wagged at Mogget, "He was hanging with Sunny too. Little traitor." Algie then turned where Jeremiah pointed and set a few steps in that direction. "I found a book in my shop," He adjusted the one held under his arm, Heliodora's book, "Showed me a rather nice vision... Nicer than this place anyway."

“Well… I think Mogget is at least… normally a good judge of character, not -always- mind you but. maybe that will help us if we ever need it when it comes to Sunny. I wonder if she sent him here to find me?” He mused, Mogget for his part just made ‘star fish’ paws of contentment as he squinted his eyes at the group of them. “… same whatever power you’ve got isn’t ‘talk to cats.” Zac sighed. “At least I don’t have to worry about … mysterious powers.” He crinkled his nose. “This place I can maybe pass off as a bad dream.” He took the umbrella gratefully and let out a soft sigh. “… Alright, ready when you are.” He nodded. Mogget mewed, flicking his tail and wiggling like he was excited, or agitated by ‘something in the air’.

Jeremiah blinked, lips twitching up when he saw his keys and phone. His fingers brushed along the honey badger key chain before he was slipping them into his pockets. "For all we know Sunny is a cat." It certainly would have been fitting. The detective did not open his umbrella, not in the light drizzle they had. Though if Mogget ended up on his shoulders he might, just so that it kept the cat occupied.
"Let's go, we can talk and walk at the same time." Jeremiah looked up at the sky, at the faint drizzle that was falling. "This is the best weather we've had in days." He glanced over to Zac briefly, not quite sure that any of them could pass this off as a bad dream. When in a situation like this, the detective was quick to adapt. Reality had changed and he would change with it. Adapting was something he was good at.
Algie? Not so much. It was a disconcerting thought. "It won't take us very long to get to town hall and if Alg's here ..." He took a breath. "There might be others." With that, the three of them set off towards the town hall.
