Over the past year or so, I've been going through previous years of content and pulling together some of it in a series of threads entitled "The Best of... Blank." As I went back through the sea of threads and read up on some of our forgotten memories, I learned a few things.
I learned that a metric s**t-ton of really good stuff gets overlooked. Sure, a 5-page match won't compare to a 20-page one, but it's still a pretty impressive thing to see these days. Some matches/promos legitimately deserved some form of merit, and they didn't even get a mention in awards threads, or even talked about in the Skype chats.
I learned that out of every 20 matches, maybe 1-2 will even get a proper finish. People don't take pride in their matches anymore. If it's not some massive storyline match/title match, no one seems to care how they do. I'm guilty of this as well, more so than most probably. That doesn't change the fact that it still hurt to see how many awesome potential match-ups went flat because people decided not to be active or simply phoned it in because it wasn't important to them.
I learned that for every bad moment, there are a dozen great ones. It doesn't change the fact that we focus A LOT on the bad these days. It's fine to poke fun or collectively agree "this s**t shouldn't have happened, what the ********?", but at the end of the day, I think we can all agree that too much negativity is a very, very bad thing.
I've probably learned even more than that, and it's just not coming to me. But anyways, let's get to the point: while I've been making these "Best of..." threads, it occurred to me that MY opinion doesn't matter here. No one cares what I think is the best of 2015, 2014, or any other year.
No, my opinion doesn't matter: YOURS DOES.
So, after talking to Dion and agreeing on this subject, we present to you: s**t That Went Down in 2016. Why such a general title? Because this thread is not here to recognize the VERY BEST OF THE BEST THAT THERE EVER WILL BE. This thread is here to recognize what YOU have done, whether it be an awesome promo or a 5-page match with the one and only Bad Boy because it's still one of your favorites even if Bad Boy out-did you at every turn. This thread is here to display what you're proud of, no matter how you may think it compares to others. How does this work, you may ask?
Simple: Just post whatever you've done this year that you think was worth noting. It can be a promo, it can be a segment, it can be a match, whatever you want it to be. We will recognize it, and we will applaud you (at least to your face wink ). This doesn't mean you have to link only your work, no way. If you see something awesome happening and want it recognized, feel free to post about it here too.
The only rule we have in this thread is this: No negativity. If you don't like something that someone links, that's 100% fine; please do not talk about it here. Take it to skype, PMs, email, whatever. Just not here. If you see someone do something that you think is stupid and horrible, that's fine too; we all do. However, this is not the thread for that. This thread is to build us all up as RPers and motivate us to work together and pour ourselves into our work, not to tear eachother down.
My hope is that this thread will motivate people to do their very best, no matter what they've got going on each guild. I don't want people to think "I know this won't be recognized as my best work, so I'm just gonna post every couple of days and just hope I get a better match next time." Wrestlers don't phone it in every time they have an exhibition match, so neither should we; don't phone in your matches or promos. Be proud of your work, and let it speak for itself through-out the whole year, not just a single day.
And with that, feel free to link whatever you wish to show the world! Let everyone see your/your friends' creative genius! smile

It all comes full circle.Kelly King 2.0 and AJ Warner have a feud that is pushing nine years. Though they have not been in contact of any form in the last eight of those, there has always been an asterisk next to both names: Kelly King has never won a singles match against AJ Warner, and Warner has not been around consistently enough, had enough big matches, or won enough championships to surpass King's prestige. Before one can ride off into the sunset, the other tries to set a match to remove that asterisk. The rest, as they say, is history.

Did anything else good happen in 2016?! ninja
I can think of a good thing that happened! The WWFG Legacy Championship and Legacy show finally getting renamed in December! cool
The bad thing that happened was that most big feds died that year such as BBW, EWA and a few upstarts that tried to take their place! Hence the lack of posts in this thread! Now only WWFG remains! WWFG could have gone the same way too as it went quiet between May and August, but somehow what is left of the G-Fed community rallied behind it when the crew wanted to put a new show up! crying
