[OOC] Joining / Member Changes

To join, please fill out the application below and post it in this thread. Please also read the notes below.

• Any species can join, be it lion or otherwise. There is no discrimination here.

• Please make sure you realize if a lion from outside the Kitwana'antara joins, or lion-hybrid, he or she will come in contact with the plague. Whether or not you choose to have him or her infected is entirely up to you at this point in time.

• You do not have to have an RP meeting with the Queen or King. . . but realize that ICly this will certainly take place before they are accepted members. Remember to read up all the information in the Ceremony section of this thread.

• Remember, lions and lion-hybrids have a fairly strict self-quarantine. Entering this pride means that very few lions will get to roam. They can meet others at the border, but for those who are infected or carriers leaving the lands is STRICTLY forbidden. This doesn't mean we can't have fun though. .

• If you have a non-lion or immune lion or lion-hybrid that wishes to leave, you may do so by filling out the form below. I understand this isn't the place for everyone.

NOTE: Just to clear up information. Border RP is encouraged between pridal lions and non-members or rogues. All we ask is that you do not spread the disease (unless the lions are willing to join the pride or are granted permission from the mule). The disease is spread through saliva and blood only so outsiders can interact with pride lions freely and even form relationships/breed. Just no excess grooming or fighting, etc.

What rank do you see them obtaining or gunning for? Hunter
Reasons why the rank would fit them? As a seer, Adokh can See a lot of things. Him doing anything besides hunting isn't one of them. Also would you REALLY want a guy THIS easily distracted watching YOUR cubs? Not that he would, that one grumpy leopard scares him a bit...
Personality?: Overall a pleasant lion, Adokh is also easily... Distracted. He'll be talking about something with someone, and suddenly change the subject in favor of something he's just spotted or thought of. Because he grew up in the Pridelands, he doesn't truly believe in any gods, holding a stronger belief in the Circle of Life. As a result of this, he views the disease the pride lives with as a variation of the circle, as even diseases have their OWN circle of life and death.
Brief History?: Born and raised in the Pridelands, Adokh had no particular reason to leave, other than he met a hybrid outside the border. It spurred him to explore out of curiosity, finding the edge of the mountain the Jini'msemi had taken up residence upon... Only to scoot away as a rockslide hit. He met one lioness, Upendo mimi'mazingira, and told her that name was a mouthful, why would she choose that? Still, they set off together, going no particular direction.

Then Adokh got a vision and followed it, and Upendo followed Adokh, because why else not? They wound up in the Kitwana, where Upendo declared, upon seeing a deep pink lion, that it was a sign from the gods and she wasn't leaving. Adokh decided to stay, too, because why not?

Reasons why the rank would fit them? She really can't see herself doing anything else BUT hunting. Between wandering the plains, living in a swamp, and living on a mountain, she's confident in her skills as a huntress.
Personality?: Una believes strongly in the gods and their will. While like many she failed to see the swamp fire as a sign, the rock slide she DID take seriously as Mama'asali no longer wanting her worship. With a new home, she's found new focus on who to worship.
Brief History?: Born in the swamps, Una has actually run into a current joined-member of the pride before! While on her name quest, which otherwise went as it usually does, she met Lutfi, who was on his Banu hunt. He tried to bring her home, she said no in a forcible way, and they parted ways. Then the swamp burned, they relocated to the mountain outside the Ela'wadiyi lands, and then she found Adokh, who led her wandering aimlessly... To here.

Imagine her surprise when she saw Lutfi! She's taking it as a big fat sign that she probably should have said yes a long time ago.

Reasons why the rank would fit them? Prior experience + interest (see history)
Personality?: Bright, talkative, sensitive.
Brief History?: Ruzuna'rai was born in the Jini-msemi and given the name Shemshi (sun). Her name quest was a long, uneventful one where she picked up stories here and there about the various prides in the land.. until she met an old, dying lion. They became friends and she stuck around to help take care of him as his health declined. Lucky for her, he mostly knew exactly what he needed and mostly (aside from hunting for them both) she was sent looking for any special plants he required and being taught how to prepare them. It earned her her name (Ruzuna'rai, Medicine for Madness and Health) and, after he died, she went home, where she ultimately never used any of her brief practice again. Now that her pride has been practically destroyed by nature and disbanded by those who would rule it, she seeks something more than a home. She still has a lot to learn but she's come to the Kitwana'antara knowing the risks and determined to be of use.

Reasons why the rank would fit them?
Personality?: He got his name from being a bright and cheery little cub, he brought happiness to his parents just before they succumbed to the disease. He's a carrier, and while he's not immune, he counts himself luckier than those who are really ailing and tries to cheer them up if he can tell they need it (there are times, however, he knows it's not appropriate, the disease isn't a laughing matter, after all).
Brief History?: Injabulo'encane (Inja, for short) tries to entertain the pride by telling jokes, and if that doesn't work, he does gag comedy. Crying cub? Maybe if he acted like he tripped and bumped his head, the little cub would laugh and dry those eyes! Unfortunately sometimes he can get carried away with this and wind up with a little bit more serious of a bump or bruise... or bloody gash on his head whoops. Not good when you don't have optimal health. He just wants to see his pride members smile.

Reasons why the rank would fit them? Being a leopard, he's more inclined to hiding his presence by basic nature, and by rearing. Also being a leopard, he's immune to the disease, so he can come and go as he desires or as ordered.
Personality?: A grump and a grouch, Mkorogo only has a soft spot for three felines - His mate, his sister, and his brother, in that order. He does care about his children, but this doesn't change how grouchy he is. He can be a tad violent when provoked, so he goes to great lengths to avoid provocation.
Brief History?: Once the heir to the throne of a leopard colony, Mkorogo disagreed with his father's ways and left their jungle home. He eventually met and fell in love with a lioness, a taboo within their culture, and refused to return until he was sure the old b*****d was gone. He left again before the colony eventually collapsed, weakened by the second plague as it was. He's sought a permanent home that won't collapse to live in with his mate since.

Reasons why the rank would fit them? Khopi is the sort to want to heal what ails others, even if it puts her at risk, herself. Plus an old concept for the character she was based on was a healing sort.
Personality?: Bubbly, gentle and kind, Kohpi's nothing like her mate. One has to wonder what attracted her to him. She has an innocence to her unlike much else, though one would be remiss to call her naive. She likes everybody, considering everybody around her a friend she hasn't properly met yet.
Brief History?: Khopi and her sister, Kabichi, were born to a pair in the roguelands. When they were still cubs, their family was attacked - Their father died and her sister was lost. She spent much of her growing life with just her mother, assuming her sister dead, before eventually reuniting with her. By then she'd fallen in love with a grumpy leopard, Mkorogo. They settled for a time in a pride her sister helped found, but eventually left for their own reasons. During that time, they had a litter of cubs together, all raised with love and kindness from their mother, and grumpy affection from their father. Now they've settled in the Kitwana, seeking a permanent place to live.

Reasons why the rank would fit them? Tenere is a singer by heart, enjoying music and singing.
Personality?: As sweet and kind as his mother, but not acting nearly so innocent, Tenere still looks at the world with a possitive view. He's well aware of the prejudices hybrids like himself can face, especially since most can't have cubs and thus help ensure a pride's survival. His own lack of fertility doesn't stop him from loving his mate, though.
Brief History?: Born to loving parents, he grew up in a pride that was accepting of hybrids and non-lions alike. It was only once he struck out into the roguelands that he found the prejudices about hybrids and the negative implications of being one. Despite this, he found love in the form of another hybrid, as non-fertile as he is. He reunited with his parents and eventually adopted two cubs with his mate, raising the girls as their own, before the whole family eventually wound up on the Kitwana doorstep.

Reasons why the rank would fit them? While Upenda's passion is crafting, there's no specific rank for the job, so she's aiming for the closest thing. It also allows her to work closely with her mate.
Personality?: Creative by nature, Upenda is secondarily happiest when she's making things with her own two paws. She's done her best to teach her crafting ways to her children, but she holds no grudge that they've not taken to it. She knows she can't have children of her own and has no qualms adopting orphaned anythings.
Brief History?: Upenda was born to caring rogue parents, and grew up only knowing their love and the love of her siblings as a cub. When she came of age, she struck out on her own, mindful that not all accepted what she was. She eventually met and fell in love with Tenere, knowing full well neither could produce cubs, but she didn't care - They loved each other as they were, and that was what mattered to her. They eventually found a pair of cubs, orphaned after their respective parents had been killed, and took them in and raised them as their own. In traveling with Tenere and his family, she's found herself amid the Kitwana, where she knows she's immune to the disease.

What rank do you see them obtaining or gunning for? Healer (Eventual aim for Mind Healer)
Reasons why the rank would fit them? Like her 'grandmother,' Han'ei is inclined toward helping others. But where she's not so great at healing the body, she's decent at talking things out with others.
Personality?: Patient, with what feels like all the time in the world, Han'ei is the sort to offer an ear to those who wish to divulge their worries and fears, and words of advice to those who seek it. She seems wise beyond her years, possibly from Seeing multiple possible futures.
Brief History?: Like her 'sister,' Han'ei was found and adopted by the hybrid couple Tenere and Upenda. She barely remembers her birth family, only that they were lions like her, and suffered a tragedy that left her an orphan. She loves her family dearly, sticking with them through anything they do.

Reasons why the rank would fit them? She really doesn't have high aspirations, and figures it's at least doing something.
Personality?: Wimbo is skilled at hunting and she knows it. She's also potentially unusual for a leopard, as she's learned to hunt socially like a lion. She tends to focus on her work, not often focusing on things like socializing or finding a mate.
Brief History?: Wimbo and her sister, Han'ei, were found and adopted by Tenere and Upenda. They were both just old enough to know they're not actually sisters, but treat each other as sisters regardless. Wimbo's stayed with her family through their travels and has no plans of leaving them behind.
