Issaly heard about the new beasts that were now being bartered around the mainland. His curiously was peaked so it hardly surprised him when he came upon a merchant who lost control of a few of his cargo. Spotting one crystalline ribbon-like body dart through the grass he was quick to give a small order. "Ullyee! Head it off there!" He pointed as the Zanteer zipped out to follow his directions. Issaly took off after her. Slipping on the grass as he did so. "Oops!!!" He bounced back up and looked around seeing another one dart out after it. He saw another youth maybe around his age. "HEY WATCH IT!!!! SERPENT AT YOUR FEET!!!" he called out in warning.

One of the wagons ahead of his father's had toppled, cages and crates toppling to the ground. The shattering of wood echoed through the trees as serpent like creatures of all colors and sizes slithered in all directions. Draven's wagon was pulled to a halt and the youth leaped off to try and help gather the escaped creatures.
"Into the trees, that's where they are headed." Shouted his father as Draven turned to head after them.
Ducking low branches and stumbling through bushes, his pants getting snagged on twigs and sharp branches. Picking his way, he looked sharply to the side as someone called in his direction, about to step down, he took another look. There was certainly a serpent there, its coils rolling upon itself as it laid still hoping to be hidden and not seen.
"Yipe!" Draven yelped stumbling backwards and tumbling out of the bushes. "That was a close one. Nearly stepped on it." He glanced back at the one that called to him, "Thanks!"

Issaly couldn't help the laugh. "No problem!" his head snapped as he heard a sharp chitter from Ullyee he blinked as he saw her sitting there seemingly lost. "Wow...little things are really good at hiding. Okay then...Abysio...Saalin...help her." As the two darted off Issaly yelled after them. "DON'T EAT THEM!!!" He sighed then glanced to Therus as the sprite fluttered to help Draven up. Issaly shook his head. "You okay?" He gingerly walked over keeping an eye on the coiled up creature. "Breathtaking..."

With a little help Draven was back on his feet and looking down at the Keldari that laid coiled watching them intently. Its tongue flicking to taste the air and wait for a time it can slither off the safety. He thought it was cute and would have taken one 'home' with him, that is if he had had an actual home that is, but the Caravan wasn't much of a place to keep pets.
"Thanks again and yeah. They are quick little things too, the way they glide." Draven agreed before slowly stepping forward towards the Keldari. "Come on little one, no one's going to harm you." Draven said at almost a whisper, reaching out for the serpent.
The serpent pulled back away from Draven's outstretched hand, its head turned to watch the boy. Then looked towards the other that stood nearby before turning its attention back towards Draven. Rearing its head up, uncoiling a bit, the Keldari gave a hiss before streaking forward and slithering between Draven's feet and out of his reach before he could effectively move.
"Quick little bugger.."

Issaly's eyes were wide as he watched the creature move. Oh great! How were they...he slowly looked up to Abysio who held one under a paw. Glaring the youth walked over. "Abysio..." it was a warning tone that the Janarim knew all too well. Issaly knelt down to gently take the poor terrifed thing. He straightened then turned as one of the merchant's assistants ran up with a cage. He dropped the small serpent into the opening before flicking the Janarim's snout. "Next time not so rough. If you damage a merchant's wares we have to pay for it." He wasn't too comfortable with this as both Ullyee and Saalin were found with a shady merchant. He glanced to the two that seem a tad more...meek than usual. Figuring they were getting scared he walked over to them. Letting Ullyee cower behind him as Saalin just laid at his feet. He looked back to Draven. "Need help?"

Draven had turned and watched as this other youth walked over to a much larger creature and scold it. Shying back a little, this one looked intimidating as all hell. So far the only creatures he had ever encountered were the ones that pulled his father's cart, the ones he cared for on the road. And Xaraan, now these little slithering creatures. What a world he lived in.
"If you would like to, but one question. What sort of creature is that." He pointed towards the Janarim. "I have never seen one like it and it looks rather intimidating."
Draven's attention was on the Janarim before the rustling of bushes distracted him. Stepping carefully over, he pulled back the branches to reveal one of the escaped critters.
"Hey there," He said reaching down to pick up the serpent. This one didn't get away from him as he lifted it from the ground and placed it back into a crate to go back to the now righted wagon.
"Two down, more to go."

Issaly blinked. Then looked to Abysio. "He's a Janarim. Their native to Oba. Abysio here was traveling before his owner chained him up in the Jauhar forest and left him." Issaly smiled as the large creature walked over to him and he petted the beast muzzle. "He's not so scary once you get to know him." he smiled. "Ah...my name's Issaly! You've met Abysio...the little thing fluttering around you is Therus, a sprite. The two water creatures are Ullyee, the zanteer and Saalin, the snaptrotter." he giggled. "Nice to meet you!"

Draven looked to the creatures in turn as this stranger spoke of what they were and some who they were. Still he was a little leery of the Janarim, those fangs looked ready to rend if someone made the wrong move. Still, the rest didn't seem that bad. Perhaps one day he can get something like these critters for his own. "I'm Draven, my father and I travel with the Caravan that had a wagon topple over. Some of its cargo escaped, as you might have noticed." He laughed slightly looking towards the sprite that was fluttering around him. "So you were close by when the critters sought freedom huh?" He looked back towards Issaly, his attention half there as he was trying to listen for other escapees.

Issaly nodded. "Yeah. I heard about them and got curious. Didn't know your caravan had them however." As he spoke he made sure he had his eyes on the rest of his little posse. They were all behaving. Abysio hadn't moved since the large beast noticed others were off-put by his presence. Issaly wasn't a fool. He picked up on that as well. Seemed they would need to make this encounter a bit short. He kept one hand on Abysio to keep the beast at his side and not wander. He chuckled at Therus. "He likes you." The small creature nuzzled Draven once before flying back to his master.

Draven flinched to one side a little as the small sprite nuzzled against him. Reaching out he went to pet it on the head before it fluttered back over towards its owner. It was cute in its own way. There was much to think about, in the means of getting something like this for himself.
"He's cute, they all are. They look really happy to be with you too." Draven nodded looking them all over again.
"The wagon with the critters joined ours in the last town. They were to part when we reached Oba, but this is where the wagon toppled." Draven shrugged looking back towards where the others were and the wagons looked ready to move on once again. "Looks like everything is almost ready to leave. I just wonder what happened to have it topple in the first place. it looked sound enough to me."
At the thought of the wagon having something wrong with it made the teen frown. There could have been worse things happen if the cargo had been something more aggressive then these serpents. He might have to haggle to get himself one before the wagon goes its own way.
"You know what, I might look into getting a companion like yours. Just unsure what to look for in one."

Issaly smiled with a giggle. "Depends. Usually the companion chooses you." He nodded. Then saw a few more serpents. He flicked his eyes to Abysio. The large beast tilting his head. Issaly slid his hand down to gently tap the creature's leg. It was a silent command he was working on. One that meant: Don't hurt, don't use claws. Hopefully Abysio remembered. He glanced to the other two. Smiling as they just laid down to wait. Issaly walked to them and sat nearby. "Abysio will help."

Draven watched the shifter interact with his companions and only smiled before moving off to pull at bushes to try and scare up the last of the escapees. There shouldn't be too many now, not that many had even escaped in the first place. "Maybe I will get lucky, who knows." Draven said as he retrieved another serpent to return to the trader. "Do you think you would take one of these if you had the chance? To add to your collection?"

Issaly watched as Abysio herded a few towards others to be caught. His pale eyes glittered as he looked back to the hybrid. He smiled sweetly. "I don't think that's up for me to decide. If any of these little guys wanted to come with me. I would take them for sure. I don't want to ruin someone's livelihood after all." As the large Janarim came back, Issaly noticed a concerned male watching them. "I think your guardian is waiting. It was nice meeting you Draven. Perhaps we'll see each other again. Till then. Take care." He stood and bowed slightly.
