Abie walked around the Market, his pale gold runt of a Snaptrotter tucked away safely in his open shirt. The infant didn't seem to behave while he was gone. So, he opted to keep the infant with him at all times. Less hassel. The little thing did serve to drive his point home with his progress of earning that cart. He looked down, pulling out the side of the shirt a bit to see the infant curled up. The small body moving gently with its breathing. He smiled softly. His short hair fluffed in the windy sunlight. He didn't have his hooded shawl up, instead it was down as he looked around. This part of the Market was safe for Matori and Hybrids...something he smiled about.

He looked around then spotted a new caravan. Oh...interesting...

There was the shouting of goods for sale and the shouting of others shooing away those that sought to pick from the stands. Animals pulling smaller carts and carrying goods through the streets as people milled about the stalls and bargaining with merchants. Draven sat to one side of his father's stall as he talked to a town goer about the fine clothes and bead works of his wares. Clothing was his father's thing. He thought it had something to do with his mother, though his father didn't say much about the subject, yet.

"Draven get over here and help me with this crate." Shouted a voice that made Draven look.

Across the way one of his father's friends was struggling to lift an exceedingly heavy crate from the back of his wagon. Slipping off his perch, the young teen hurried over to take up one side of the crate and nearly dropped it when he started to lift.

"What is in this thing? Rocks?" He asked waddling over to where the merchant was to set the crate down.

"Nah, rocks don't sell. Clay ware." The merchant grinned pulling off the lid to reveal the baked clay pieces laid in straw.

Shaking his head at the merchant, Draven backed away smiling. Waving a hand he turned to head back to where he had come from. Not realizing that someone was right behind him, running into the person.

"Sorry, sorry, didn't notice you were there." He said a little sheepishly hoping the one he had run into was alright.

Abie was hardly budge by the bump. He did hear a irritated hiss from his shirt so he looked inside to see the now awake infant. He glanced back up to the youth with a carefree smile. "No issue. Your...new here huh?"

He made the observation based on the obvious fact that the youth in front of him was not a Oban...the kid was a hybrid. Those weren't too highly tolerated here. He tilted his head. "Abie. Future Rider. The hiss you caught earlier is Laqui...its a infant I'm raising." he pulled open the shirt to let the newcomer see the now large eyed infant glaring at them.

Abie quirked a eyebrow at it. "What are you upset about?"

Draven was glad the one he had bumped into was alright, just that hiss that came afterwards made him back up a step or two. What was this person hiding that would make such a sound. Running a hand through his long hair, a bit frazzled as this was certainly not the best way to meet others. Specially in these new lands, well new to him at the very least.

"Yea, I'm new. My father and I arrived here last night with the rest of the caravan." He looked over towards where his father was, showing an roll of bright fabric to a couple ladies. "He's one of the merchants here to sell the fabrics and other bobbles he's collected."

Turning his attention back to this other youth and towards the now exposed infant that was coiled up in his shirt. That was certainly a strange place to hide something, certainly made walking through this mass of bodies difficult he was sure. cause he certainly didn't want to bump the small thing around.

"Its really cute. My name's Draven, I don't know what I will be. My father wants me to take his place, but I don't know. I don't want to be bound to a caravan all my life." Draven frowned a bit giving a little bit of a shrug. "So did you come to find something for your little friend then?"

Abie chuckled. "That's awesome." He blinked as the thought of his own father snuck up on him. He shook his head slightly as he looked down, Laqui climbing out to coil around his neck. He chuckled.

"Thanks. Laqui is the runt of seven. Actually, I usually come out here to see about earning a few coins. Trying to save up towards this special cart made for transporting large animals. Figured since this little guy and his siblings are going to be the size of Janarim when they get older. I would need a cart big enough for their necessary supplies for a trip." He explained while shifting his collar so that the small creature was tucked around his neck securely.

Draven listened to what Abie had to say, wanted to have a cart for transporting large animals? Sounded interesting in deed, even better then what he was currently doing and he did everything for the caravan without getting paid for it. Either that or his father was hiding his share of everything away from him. It was hard to say, he would have to ask later when he was lone with his father.

"Sounds fun." Draven said smiling a little. "So these guys grow to be quite big huh?" He watched the small infant nestle itself around its master's neck. "Somehow I don't see it."

Completely forgetting that this one was a runt, but even so he didn't think it was going to grow that big. Even if this one wasn't a runt. Twisting his mind around the idea, he soon found that he driving himself into the makings of a headache. Draven would have to debate the things over later when he was laying in his hammock.

"I am sure someone around here wouldn't mind your help. Just keep an eye on him." He pointed to the infant, "Some of these merchants I would trust, but there are others who would nick him and try and sell him back at a higher price."

Abie nodded. Then spotted an Adult Snaptrotter walking by. It was being led by his Caretaker so the youth knew it was one of the adults that their Mentor got a hold of. He nodded to them. "That's an adult."

He blinked at the warning. "Thanks for the warning. Laqui here does have a full set of fangs you would have to deal with." he reached up and stroking the underside of its chin. He smiled as Laqui yawned out of reflex. The showcase of a full set of chompers flashed before you heard the telltale 'snap' of its small jaws.

"Anyone tries to touch this little guy. It bites. Though I have a special pouch that's hidden on me. He slips into it when I start moving around seriously." he explained.

Draven gave Abie a smile, glad that the little tike had a good shoulder to lay on. Someone that knew well of the breed and its workings. Unlike himself who had never had the real opportunity to look after too many species of animals.

"That's good to hear, I would hate to hear that something happened to him." Draven nodded, watching the infant yawn and show off his teeth. "Do you think he would mind if I touched him? Or would I be at risk of losing a finger or two?"

He asked this as he wanted to see what they felt like, he had cared for the fur covered Quhar that pulled his father's wagon and the other pelted creatures that hauled other carts and wagons in the caravan. But something like this was new and he wondered what its coat would feel like. He was being a kid again, open to this new world and taking more steps to understanding it. When Abie motioned towards an adult of the species, Draven backed away a step. That large creature with many teeth was what the small infant was going to grow up to be?

"That is big, very big and you can ride them?" He inquired looking back towards Abie. He had a lot to learn about the creatures he shared this world with.

Abie nodded. "Yup. Their apart of the 'Mount' Class among others." he glanced to the other male with a smile. "He wouldn't mind at all...Laqui..." At hearing its name the infant shuffled out. Abie pulled the small body out and let Laqui lay along his forearm. "So, long as I'm holding him. He'll be fine."

He let his arm hover away from his body for a few moments. "Stroke him gently. His scales aren't as tough as a normal adult."

Reaching forward a little he touched the small snaptrotter on the head before trailing down the spine. It was soft, for what it was to grow up to be. The small scales very pliable and easily torn. After a moment, Draven pulled his hand away so's not to injure the young thing unintentionally. His mind going back to the reasons to why Abie was in the market. Looking for jobs to earn bits of coin. Draven just wasn't sure what there was to be done now that things were up and running.

"So you worked with merchants before? What sort of tasks? I mostly help lift things and set things out. Sometimes run errands for my father when things get busy and we need to change larger coins to smaller ones." Though he was hoping there would be other things to do, most the time he just roamed within sight of his father's stall or lounged in the back watching the skies aimlessly.

There had to be more to life then this, and he was going to try and find it.

Abie watched how the other male handled the infant carefully. Well, the youth certainly had a gentle touch about him. That showed a lot about his character. Aqio had a similar touch with the young ones. It showed a gentleness not too often found. Chuckling he nodded. "Lifting and helping set up much like yourself. Though a few times I helped actually run a stall or two. Merchants who know me from around."

As he talked the youth walked he smiled at a merchant he knew. Nodding in greeting he chuckled as the female called out to coo over the infant and give him a wet cloth. He wiped down Laqui before thanking her and looking to Draven. "Things like that aren't uncommon if I have the young ones with me. Most of the merchants who are common around here will willingly help with them. I only ever have one to three on my person. The pouch I wear on the inside of my shirt fits five at the most, but even I'm not that daring."

These infants were the start of his livelihood after all.

Draven watched the woman come over and handed Abi the wet cloth to wipe down the small infant that he carried. Tilting his head a little, Draven knew that most merchants that knew locals were always kind, sometimes a bit too much. But he wasn't from this area and it wouldn't been too many more days until the caravan would be packing up and moving off onto the road again. Such was the life he had, for now.

"Friendly locals." Draven commented before looking around, feeling a little out of his own security bubble. "Sorry, not that used to being around anyone that's not of the caravan." He ducked his head a little before looking back towards Abie.

The water male chuckled. "No sweat man! Your new." he pushed off to beckon for Draven to follow him. "Come on, we'll walk and talk. You said your whole life has been with your Pops right? What's he like?"

He was curious...having barely any memories of his own Father.

Still a bit uneasy, Draven followed a little behind Abie, but soon picked up a set to walk beside him. Though falling back when the throngs of people grew too thick for two to walk beside each other. The curious thing was that Abie wanted to know about his father? What was there to say? Sure he had lived with the man as far back as he could remember, he never knew his mom. Nor any other family for that matter. Frowning a little, Draven looked back towards Abie.

"Well, He's really just your basic father." Draven gave a small shrug, "Funny and kind, though sometimes he can be a pain when it comes to learning figures and such. He wants me to be a merchant like himself, but I want to do something more." He looked down towards the ground. "He's the only one I have ever known. Never knew my mother, nor any other part of my family from either side." He looked back towards the water teen, "What about you?"

Abie blinked. He looked at the other. "Basic father...hmm." He smiled softly. "I don't remember mine...or my mother, so we have that in common. See...I was taken along with my twin as a youngling. The only thing I can remember with some clarity is my elder brother."

He shrugged. "Even he's merely sensation and blurred colors." As the two walked Abie glanced down an alley to smile at a small nook. "Hey...lets duck down the alley here. The other street beyond that nook has food stalls. Were you hungry?"

He had a few favors he could call on for a free meal for his new friend and himself.
