 Joselyn teetered and tottered on their own boot covered feet as the well bundled freshling walked next to their dad down the well-kept city walkway. It was rather amusing to Jose that her and her father had come here. She had just been talking to her Social Studies class about how she wanted to come here to the Litch city, and now, here she was! And better yet, with her Litch daddy! It made her heart swell inside her chest. She was the only pure litch in the family, and it made Joselyn feel special. She felt like daddy's little girl, even if she was adopted, and it gave her a sense of pride and confidence in herself she never expected to have while she was living at the orphanage. She had been so close to being moved in to the Academy. And while she attended the Academy now, Joselyn was ever so grateful to Burvia and Joseth for taking her in ... she just loved them and admired them so much. She was able to have the family life she always craved. "Where are we going?" the little litch asked excitedly as she continued to teeter along the pathway.

 Joseth picked his way carefully through the snow-slicked street as he kept an eye on his little adopted daughter. He had made a plan with Burvia to take little Joselyn for a daddy-daughter trip to Snowgarden, the Litch city, as a bonding trip for the two Litches. He also planned on telling her the good news, but he wanted to take things slow and let Jose enjoy the trip lest she take the news the wrong way. He had to ask Burv for ideas on where to take her, and was surprised at the little blue Litch's destination choice. Joseth himself had never been to the icy city, and was looking forward to exploring it with her.
Burvia had made sure to send them with the warmest attire as she could fit in their suitcases, and they seemed to match in their deep blue fur-trimmed coats and matching black fur-trimmed boots. They even had little earmuffs so their pointed ears didn't catch cold. She had thought of everything, down to the scarves and mittens.
Joseth grew increasingly anxious as they navigated the sidewalk, worried that his fragile little daughter might slip and fall. To prevent this, he scooped her up just as she asked her question, sitting her on his wide shoulders. He wrapped his mitten-ed hands around her ankles just in case a particularly forceful gust of wind tried to knock her off of him before he opened his mouth. "Well, I was thinking we could check out the ice skating rink in the center of the plaza, grab something warm to drink, then head over to the historical library. How does that sound?" He asked, twisting his neck slightly so his crimson gaze met her icy blue orbs, searching for her approval.

Joselyn snuggled in to the back of her dad's head as she was scooped up, very gently holding on with her hands, careful not to nick her dad or his clothes with her claws, happy to be close to him. This was nice. She admired him so much, looked up to him as a role model -- the perfect image of a litch. While the weather was cold and bitterly so, Jose couldn't help but to feel warm and elated on her father's shoulders. "I'd like that a lot!" Joselyn beamed. "Maybe we could get some hot chocolate as our warm drink when we go?" Anything was going to be better than her mom's hot chocolate. It was always so watery and lacking. And the marshmallows never melted. While her mother had many talents, cooking was not one of them. "Are we skating outside or inside?" she asked quizzically. "And how soon can we go to the library!?"

Joseth warmed when he felt Joselyn latch on to the back of his head, acutely aware of where her sharp little fingers were. She seemed to be content bouncing around on his shoulders as they neared the plaza. He chuckled at the little blue girl's rapid fire questions, the sound rumbling and deep. "Hot chocolate sounds about right for this sort of weather." he said softly, his words curling out in front of him in curls of warm breath. His ears, despite being mostly covered by the fluffy warm material of his earmuffs, were starting to tingle from the cold. He wished that they were indeed skating inside. "The ice rink is outside, which is why hot chocolate comes after the skating. Then we'll hit the warm library." Joseth blazed the path down the street, aiming to warm himself up a bit as well as get to the skate rental pavilion just a bit faster.
The center of the plaza was open, with a frosty circle of ice was waiting for them to glide across. The pavilion was tiny, but provided a pocket of cozy air for them to change out of their winter boots and into the skates before setting foot on the ice. "Let me help you there." the bigger Litch said softly as he laced up the little girl's skates. He didn't want her to have to remove her little mittens when he had already done so to lace his own skates up. When he was finished, he met his gaze with hers. "Are you ready?" he said, ready to push out onto the ice.

Once her father answered her questions, little Joselyn seemed rather content to simply hum as the two bounced along their path. Her questions had been answered, and the girl found herself rather satiated by her father's response. There was no wondering left to do, and so she hummed her favourite songs, imagining she was on some grand adventure with her dad at her side, her heart a flutter in her chest. She loved her dad so much. However, she did not like the weather one bit, and her whole body was starting to shiver. But even still, Joselyn's good mood didn't waver. Nothing could ruin this perfect day for her. As the father and daughter duo reached their destination, and Joselyn was set down on the ground, the child toddeled away to take a seat, her outerwear so full and so voluminous that her little legs and arms stuck out at odd angles once she finally plopped herself down on one of the wooden benches. Soon enough, the skates were rented, and the little girl was wriggling with anticipation. She had never been skating before, and Jose was excited for dad to teach her something new. The child's humming only got louder as Joseth wiggled her boots off for her and replaced them with the skates. She watched him artfully tie up the complicated looking laces around each of the hooks, and silently pondered why the skates felt so tight on her feet. For a long time, she stared at them. as if staring would somehow make them looser. but eventually Joselyn looked up, as if feeling her father's eyes on her, and gave a wide, shark-grin, flashing her rows of pointed teeth at him, her slit pupils contracting with excitement. "I'm ready! ... b-but, I think I need help getting up!"
