Open from December 12th to December 16th at noon EST!
This time the dismantling of the stadium takes place under the cover of an opaque magical shroud, and when it is pulled back once more, spectators find themselves in the middle of a crisp evening, flurries of snow falling into the stands. Participants are directed to a clearing and handed a folder with six pieces of paper inside, the lyrics and music for a holiday song printed on every sheet. They are given what appears to be a choice of five paths, each with a creature of Christmas at its end.
The Interholiday Liaison makes her entrance from a stand of firs and turns on her peppermint head mic. "Waiting for you in the trees are five caroling connoisseurs. They each have a favorite song that they will most certainly give you an excellent score for attempting, but they also love a good show even if you don't pick their favorite! Do your best and come back to the clearing when you've performed for all five!"

Instead of completing sections on a quiz or course, this event has four Christmas Town citizens and a special guest you will need to impress with your caroling prowess. FEARs and natural forms of any size are not restricted and free to be used anywhere, but if you knock around your judges too much, they probably won't be very impressed with you.
To start, roll 1d6 for each person you will be singing for. You may roll your dice separately or may put all five rolls in one post, whichever you'd prefer. No matter which way your character goes, they always end up visiting the characters in the same order, so rolls cannot be moved around. Record the corresponding number of points you earned from each of your rolls. BE WARNED: The values of your rolls are not in chronological order for this event. Each set of rolls has a different point value. Be careful while tallying points.
Quote:
An example: Gruber the demon's RPer rolls all of his dice in one post. They roll 1, 4, 6, 6, 5. Gruber's preliminary scores are as follows:
Check your stats. Distribute your charm stat across your point total anywhere you'd like to boost your character through the challenge. How you choose to reflect these changes in RP is up to you! Do not add charm to your dice, add it to the point value that results from your rolls.
Quote:
Another example: Gruber is a charismatic young demon indeed. He has a 10 in charm. His RPer chooses to split those points between Sections Two and Three to make up for his questionable rolls:
Now it is time to decide if you want to use your luck stat for this challenge! You are only allowed to use it once, so if you have already used it, you may not do so here. If you choose to use it while caroling, you cannot use it for the rest of the event. If you want to boost your caroling score, add your luck to your section totals just as you did your charm stat.
Quote:
Last example: Gruber is a charming guy! Even though he doesn't really know much about Christmas songs and who might like certain ones, his RPer wants to make sure he goes down in history as the best singer in Halloween! They decide to pad Section Five with luck!
Did you remember to use your charm stat? Y Did you use your luck stat for this challenge? Y
Be sure to RP your rolls! If you want to sing with others, you are welcome to.
This thread will be locked on December 16th at noon EST so that points may be tallied without anyone making edits while we do so. If your post was not edited to include your filled in form prior to that, your character's attempt will not be counted. Following the conclusion of the entire event, threads will be unlocked so that RP may be added/edited if you so desire.

Caroling? Oh crap. Carmine was screwed for sure on this one. The last time he tried to sing had been a nightmare and landed him in two weeks of grounding.
He had been playing around in his parent’s home when he came across some stereo equipment. His parents were mostly business demons, but they made far too much money and would often indulge themselves with new hobbies for three or four days at a time. Of course, being the high class jerks they were, they had to have the best of the best stuff for each of their hobbies. The upside to this was that Carmine had a ready supply of new things to try and play with when he was bored.
On this particular day, Carmine had been watching some videos on ScreamTube, and wanted to have a go at a music video. He needed to test out the equipment before getting started, so he hooked up the microphone with the amplifier and the speakers. He began by tapping a few times on the mic and adjusting the volume to what he thought was necessary. Then, without further hesitation he let out a scream that was meant to sound like his favorite song. Suffice to say, it didn’t. And it busted all of windows in the room.
Sullenly, the little bat demon headed down the first path, which ended with an overly cheerful elf. Whatever compelled him to sing 'I Have a Little Dreidel' to the elf was not entirely clear, and it cost him points for sure. Elves are Christmas creatures, they don’t sing songs about dreidels, do they? The elf frowned quite intensely at Carmine and this only caused the little boil to blush and do even worse.
On the second path was a special looking deer creature. Carmine chose to sing 'The Twelve Days of Christmas', which went over better than the first song, but not by much. Based on how other students around him seemed to be doing, the deer preferred slower, high pitched songs that made you want to drift into a deep and cold slumber.
The third path seemed strange. He had to sing to a snowman? Weird. He sang 'Jingle Bell Rock' and it surprisingly was his best song choice so far. It was hard to get a feel for what the Snowman was thinking, considering it was a snowman. He couldn’t tell, but Carmine would’ve sworn that the snowy man moved ever so slightly during his musical number.
Down the fourth path, Carmine saw that it ended with a bear, and so changed into his natural form of a tiny bat gryphon. He decided to try again with singing 'I Have a Little Dreidel', and the bear loved it! he wasn’t sure if it was because he was a small brown creature, and therefore could be somewhat mistaken for a brown bear’s cub, or if it was because his choice of song appealed to the bear on some level. He decided it was probably because he could’ve been the bear’s cousin’s cub or some weird thing like that.
The last path ended with a giant dreidel. Carmine, being a slight idiot, sang 'Holly Jolly Christmas'. You can imagine how well that went over with the giant dreidel. He’s quite lucky the giant smiling dreidel didn’t come over and spin on top of him, smashing him right into the ground.
After dragging himself back to the center, Carmine felt pretty bad about his scores for this section of the House Cup. He half heartedly accepted the medal and the hot chocolate and trudged away to wait for their next round of torture.
Sludge had assumed the worst was over, that there would be no more written exams and tests of his inability to form sentences on paper. So when he was pulled away from his booth to participate in the next event he was stumped at, not only the white flakes falling throughout the stands, but the pieces of paper he was given. At first he was considering screeching his displeasure at being given something else to write on, but instead of being seated at a desk he was situated in front of five branching paths.
Then he heard the announcer talk about the challenge itself. It was caroling.
And the folder he held with all the paper were the music and lyrics.
He was looking quite lost and sad after hearing this. So if it wasn't writing words he had to do, it was forming them. And he was about as good as talking as he was writing. Which was not good at it.
His tail slashed the air irritably as he picked one of the paths. Might as well get this over and done with.
Section one ...This guy was way too cute for his liking. Sludge shook his head, feeling a little unnerved by how happy and cheerful this elf looked. And his name was 'Cheerheart' as well. Ugh. Even the gnomes weren't as annoying.
Taking a deep breath, Sludge looked at the sheet and tried to sing. What came out was strange shrieks and hisses that sounded nothing like a caroling and more like a monster who was about to attack.
Not only was it not the 'song' that Cheerheart liked, but it sounded nothing like a Christmas carol at all. At least he got a few pity points.
Section Two The next christmas citizen who would have the joy of hearing him looked more like a over sized minipet. One that looked kind of appetizing. He kept his drooling to a minimum however and went about trying to sing. This time instead of any screeching or hissing, he tried to hum out a tune, like he had heard other students do with different songs. It was a lot easier to do since it didn't involve stringing together words.
Somehow, the reindeer liked it.
Section three Wait, did one of the snowman he made at the booths come alive? How did that happen?!
Oh, no it wasn't, it was just the third one he had to sing for. Though it was strange to see a snowman moving about.
Again he tried humming out a tune, and the snowman, or 'snow-woman' as he should call her, was impressed.
Section four The moment Sludge saw the overly large polar bear he bared his teeth, thinking it was going to eat him first (it was so much bigger then he was too). Thankfully some nearby elves calmed him down long enough for him to hiss out some strange words in a half assed attempt at caroling, before he was running off
Section five Now the monster was just confused. What was this creature supposed to be?! At least the other ones looked like something he would recognize. This looked like some sort of large spinny thing. It freaked him out so much he could barly utter any musical sounds, so his score was quite low.
Oh well, he was finished, and walking back he was given another metal and some hot chocolate to drink. While the drinkw as warm, it was way too sweet for his tastes. He needed something more earthy tasting. Like fresh mud from a swamp, that would be better.
And maybe something to go along with it. Like some reindeer meat.
