Abel tried with all her fluffy pink might to close the door of the cafe behind her. The wind was blowing harsh and arctic, the chill biting and sharp. The scarf around her fur to cover her face was almost as fluffy as her bushy imp tail, and as Abel tried and tired to close the door and keep the snow from tumbling in with her, she wondered why she ever left her dorm room that evening. "Eehnnaaa-!!" With one last effort, Abel finally sealed the door tight. It seemed that the snow was falling fast and hard, and likely the lot of people gathered in the cafe would have to stick out the storm. They were, in fact, snowed in. The storm had just started out as a light snow. Abel had been delighted to catch snowflakes on her tongue as they fell from the sky, and the cold was not quite as bitter when she first started out her journey to the cafe. She had heard such great things about it, and on her day off, she was feeling adventurous. Abel's classmates that had been brave enough to investigate the areas around the universities and colleges in their free time had ranted and raved about how amazing Blue Belle cafe was, and now, here Abel was. In the flesh. The little Imp girl dusted off her warm, wool winter dress and bounced her way up to the front counter, hips swaying and skirt swishing as she moved. "Hello~! May I please have a strawberry tea latte and a vanilla bean scone~?" her voice was just as sweet as the girl looked, high and soft, but not annoyingly so. "I heard you have the best vanilla bean scones around! I bet it's true~!" the short imp girl cooed. The girl behind the counter gave a charming smile and thanked Abel for the compliment before making her way over to fill out her order. The Imp glanced around the room as she waited, sifting through her purse for payment. There was a fireplace off burning warm and soft with a lounge of chairs and couches and glass tables. The cafe wasn't full, but it wasn't empty either. There was maybe about four other people present who weren't behind the counter working, reading books and perhaps studying. Others simply enjoying their food and hot beverages. ... the spot by the fire seemed really cozy, and oddly, nobody had occupied it. The Geist behind the counter brought Abel's order to the counter, and finally the Imp had the right amount of change and exchanged it for the yummy smelling drink and delicious looking scone. "Thaaank yooou~!" Abel sounded immensely grateful, grabbing the mug in one hand and the plate in the other before giving a cute little bend of her legs as if to bow before heading off to her desired seat on the comfy couch. Abel set her latte down on the table in front of the couch before wiggling her little bottom on to the incredibly plush seat and have a happy, contented sigh. Making her way through the sudden blizzard was total worth it. She hadn't yet sampled the food or drink she had purchased, but she could just tell they'd be to die for.

Ah, winter. Both Aaminah's favorite and least-favorite time of the year. While it was particularly easy for her to dress herself in the absolute cutest outfits when the air was cooler, it became significantly more difficult to remain warm and cute as the snow actually began to fall outside.
Luckily for her, at least, it wasn't hard to simply layer jacket upon jacket for when outside, and shed down to a nice tight, sweet sweater once indoors.
Sitting next to a fire certainly helped as well, especially when tied with a steaming hot cup of cocoa and enough sweets to make someone consider going on a diet the next day. A creative mind needed sustenance however, and sugary pastries were the best kind of brain-food.
As the demon sat, soaking up the heat from the fireplace a few feet away, she hummed a quiet tune, a smile pulling at the corners of her burgundy lips. Ever so gently she tapped the eraser-end of her pencil against her cheek, her foot tapping against the floor as she stared down at the various sketches she had strewn across the small table. While she had already finished all of her assignments for her Fashion class, that didn't mean she couldn't sketch out some other basic ideas so she had something to work off of later on.
Aaminah had fully intended on simply waiting out the storm in the cafe--a place she frequented quite often since being accepted into Grendel. It was close enough to the Campus for her to walk if need be, and quiet enough for her to think, while still occasionally seeing a few familiar faces.
The young imp that came barreling in through the door certainly wasn't a familiar face, however.
Aaminah watched with quiet amusement as the small, pink-haired girl bumbled around somewhat with the door before getting herself settled.
'What a little sweetheart,' the demoness thought to herself, watching as the girl placed her order with such delight in her voice. A subtle shake of amusement made a few strands of hair slip out from behind her ear as she slowly lowered her gaze back to her papers, letting the young imp slip out of sight and out of mind... though not for very long.
The moment the girl all but skipped passed her towards the couch, Aaminah blinked, a brow perking as she glanced back, watching as the girl found her spot. Another smile made its way over her lips as she shifted somewhat in her seat, crossing her feet at the ankles as she looked back to her sketches.
"You've got some snow in your hair, dearie. Sit by the fire with it like that and you'll be sopping wet in minutes,"

Abel took a deep breath, lifting her warm mug up to her lips and sipping softly at the pink creamy beverage. The minute the hot beverage hit her tongue and the burst of strawberry teased her tastebuds the Imp's head fell back in pure delight, eyes closing in pleasure. She was such a foodie. It was awfully surprising that Abel wasn't a bit heftier. "Mmmnn~! Oh my goodness, everyone was right ... this place is the best~!" she mused to herself, eyes fluttering open, her long eyelashes tickling her soft cheeks as she tried to refocus on the room around her. It was another person's voice that made her suddenly perk. It sounded as though someone was addressing her, but ... who could it be? Abel didn't know anyone here. Was she just imagining it? Abel looked left, and then right. Then looked to the fire and blinked rather lucidly at it. Sow in her hair? Well, that made sense. She hadn't been wearing a hat. The pink imp set her mug down on the glass table and touched a clawed, fluffy hand to her hair, and much to her chagrin her hair was starting to get soggy rather quickly. "Mweep!" the Imp squeaked, gripping lightly at her hair. "You're right! Eck, I'll catch a cold at this rate ... ! What was I thinking?"

The girl's reaction had Aaminah chuckling softly, shifting around in her seat for a moment before maneuvering onto her feet. She rose from her chair then, turning her gaze towards the small imp before stepping over.
"Here, let me help," she said smoothly, lifting one of her hands to gently begin brushing the snow off from atop the girl's head, careful not to get it on any of the rest of her fur or clothing. "So tell me; What was a sweet little thing like you doing out in that kinda weather? I'm surprised you managed to even make it in the door, let alone down the street," the demon mused, checking the girl for anymore excess snow, before pulling back, looking down at her with a gentle grin as her tail flicked around behind her contentedly.
From up close, Aaminah could get a much better look at the girl. She was certainly small, there was no denying that. The imp had to be at least an entire foot shorter than her, if not more than that. The heels the demoness wore certainly didn't help to lessen the height difference.
She looked young--certainly not a University student. She was far from a Freshling, though. Just barely old enough to be walking around on her own,... or perhaps she just looked far younger than she actually was.
"I'm Aaminah, by the way," she offered as an afterthought, her head canting to the side as she looked down at the imp.

Abel hadn't seen the demon approach until she was looming over head -- though not in a scary way. The demon was just much taller than Abel, and the way the fire gave the helpful figure a back lit glow, they only appeared more intimidating than they really were. At first Abel was a bit hesitant, as if afraid to be hit as she braced herself against the contact, but when the demon's gentle touch started to brush the snow away from her, the girl relaxed tremendously, letting out a sigh to release the tension. "Ah, thank you so much ... !" Abel looked up at the demon, and really looked. Aaah, she was so pretty! For a fleeting moment, Abel wished she was as pretty as the demon before her. But she had questions to answer and couldn't dwell on such things. "Hee, I'm a little surprised myself," she said cheerfully. "The weather wasn't nearly this bad when I first left home earlier this morning .. but I suppose I was out long enough for the weather to shift and grow angry, and now here I am! I had heard from some classmates that this was a really great cafe, and I really, really wanted to check it out ... it was all they could talk about! How could I not?Especially when I heard they made strawberry tea lattes! I love strawberries~! The imp beamed happily before suddenly gasping, holding her clawed hands over her mouth. "Oh, where are my manners!" she seemed a little appalled at herself. "Pardon me, but my name is Abel~!" the imp gave a little bow of her head, offering a cute bow smile that curved her lips quite cutely. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Aaminah!"

"You're welcome, hon," the demon responded with a quiet chuckle as he shifted on her feet, pulling back somewhat so she wasn't looming over the other so unnecessarily.
As the girl spoke, Aaminah simply smiled, humming softly from contentment. She gave a nod as she took a few side-steps forwards her table, gathering her own mug to sip slowly from the simple hot cocoa inside. "I was going to say, you certainly don't look like a familiar face, and I come here often," she explained with a nod. "I'd imagine you're from the Academy still then?"
When the other finally introduced herself, Aaminah gave a hum and a brief nod of her head. "Likewise, Abel,"

Abel shifted shyly, watching the demoness beneath lowered lashes, hands clasped and tucked against the skirt of her dress. "Is it really so obvious as all that ... ?" the imp wondered aloud. It was true, she was still in the Academy. A junior, even. While her appearance and demeanor often left people confused about her age and assuming she was quite young, Abel felt as though she was genuinely much older than that mentally. "Yes, I took the train here from the Academy. This area is quite lovely, really. I want to go to Grendel someday, so it was nice to kind of see the surrounding areas as well. I have a guilty pleasure for sweet things ... so for me, this was well worth the trip." she leaned forward and grabbed her scone from the table and looked it over with her eyes for a brief moment before lifting her gaze back to the Aaminah ... "Would you ... perhaps ... " she began shyly. "Wish to sit with me ... ?"

The other's words had Aaminah laughing softly, one of her hands raising to absently push a few strands of hair behind one of her pointed ears. "No, not necessarily. You're just so small--smaller than one of my roommates, and she too is an imp," the demon explained. As the other began to tell her short tale, Aaminah hummed, nodding, her brows giving a slight perk as the other made mention of her University.
"I go to Grendel, myself. It's such a wonderful school," she said before beginning to sip slowly from her hot cocoa, giving a pleased hum as the hot liquid made her skin tingle in the best of ways.
The other's sudden offer had Aaminah perking up slightly, the slightest of little grins flickering on her lips as she lowered her cup from her painted lips.
"I wouldn't mind that at all. Let me get my stuff from my table and we'll sit on the couch," she said briefly before turning, placing her mug down on the small coffee table in front of the couch before rounding the corner towards her table where all of her sketches and sweets were waiting for her. She stacked the papers with ease, tucking them into her folder before slipping the folder under her arm, freeing up her hands to grab the plate with the various pastries and other baked goods. She returned then to the imp, greeting her with a gentle smile as she moved to sit down on the couch, looking up at the girl somewhat expectantly.

As soon as Aaminah joined Abel on the couch, the little imp felt herself scooting closer to the older girl before she even knew what had happened, pressing close as her eyes almost glittered up at demonness. "Y-you go to Grendel~?" she asked in amazement. "Oh, wow! Please, tell me all about it! I'd love to know what the student life is like! I've heard that campus dorms are a lot nicer than the rooms at the academy! Are they expensive? Eeee~!!" Abel caught herself squeeing in excitement, but quickly covered her mouth, the sound turning to a shy squeak as she pulled back a bit, as if. "Ehnnnna!" The imp meeped sheepishly. "I'm so sorry, I got so completely carried away and asked so many ridiculous questions! Please, forgive me!" Abel leaned forward, blushing darkly from embarrassment as she nibbled some of her scone over her plate to distract herself from her social blunder.

Aaminah was not oblivious to the closeness between her and the girl. In fact, it made her smile, a soft chuckle falling from her lips as she shifted in her spot, lifting her mug of hot cocoa to her lips to take a sip from it as the girl began to speak. The imp's words made one of the demoness's brows lift slightly, another quiet laugh falling from her lips as she shook her head.
"Abel, you're fine, dear. Don't apologize for asking questions," she said softly, lifting a hand up to gently fix a few strands of the other's hair before softly patting her head between her horns. "Grendel is fantastic; everything I'd hoped it would be. I can't speak too much about the campus dorms, though--I have a small apartment I share with a few other students from Grendel I met. I've visited the dorms a few times though, and they're positively lovely. Very homey, that's for certain. The entire campus is to die for--obviously filled with art students. I've been to the other campuses back when I was still going to the Academy, and none of them felt quite as tidy and attractive as Grendel," she explained, before taking another sip of her drink.

Abel nodded her head two times fast, listening rather intently. She had been about to speak when the girl reached out and fixed her hair for her, and Abel's cheeks grew as pink as her rough, and she meeped and scooped her scarf to cover her face once more, speaking through the thick fabric shyly. "Ahem~" she started, clearing her throat. "I've heard the business students at Asterion are rather messy ... which seems so odd, especially when you consider how ... well, professional they're supposed to be! You'd think the art students would be more scattered because of how they're more abstract thinkers! It's amusing and enlightening!"Abel removed a couple more of her layers now that she had warmed up. The fire was doing a rather amazing job of warming her up ... or was it the demonness next to her that was making her feel rather flushed? Abel ... was a little unsure as she gave a girlish laugh.

When the girl spoke, Aaminah couldn't help but to laugh once again. "You know, it's funny you mention that. Me and one of my roommates were actually talking about that a few days ago. We ended up figuring that it has to do with the fact that artists tend to be really messy while they're working, but can't stand a disorganized area when they're not working. We have to know exactly where everything we need is at all times, so we keep our areas clean. But the wanna-be business-y professional people like the Asterion kids,... they are supposed to be organized and tidy constantly when it's work-related, so anything that doesn't have to do with their profession? It's a bloody mess,"
After the demon spoke, she could only laugh, crossing one of her legs over the other before looking down at the rather sweet imp at her side. Aaminah spared the girl a soft, warm smile, her head canting to the side at the girl's almost shy demeanor. She was almost too cute.

The imp caught herself giggling a bubbly laugh. She had never considered these things, but they were true of herself -- she had to keep things neat and tidy. True, lots of her things were paint stained and certainly there was lots of clean-up to do after each project was completed, but Abel had just always assumed she was a bit of an odd duck in that respect. "Yes, I completely understand! I'm that way too! Gosh, now it makes me wonder how my other art friends are ... and if I just walk in to their rooms while their mid-project! I feel bad for judging their cleanliness now! Abel reached out to pick up her cup and realized it was empty and nearly gawked at it. How could it be empty!? It was too delicious to be empty, but ... then again. A white hot chocolate would also be really good. Maybe this was a blessing in disguise. The imp lifted her gaze from her cup, eye lashes fluttering up at the demonness as she offered another bow smile. "I think I might go up to get something more to drink, if you're interested? It doesn't seem the storm is going to subside any time soon ... we might be here for a while."

The imp's words had Aaminah giggling softly, nodding from agreement as she sat back comfortably in her seat. "Granted, you can't apply those rules to everyone; there are always exceptions. I know one of the girls that lives near us in another apartment, her place is always a mess--but granted, she's always working on another painting, it seems," the demon muttered softly, before offering a shrug.
When the imp spoke afterwards, Aaminah shot her a gentle grin. She glanced down to her mug, lifting it to her hands quickly afterwards to finish off her hot cocoa, before standing. "I think that'd be a wonderful idea,"

"Heee~!" was all Abel could cheerfully say before she bounced off to retrieve more drinks for the two of them. "What sort of a drink would you care for, lovely mistress~?" Abel asked as she spun around to face her as she walked backwards, skirt moving easily. "I could get you anything your little heart desires! What's your flavour of choice?" Abel was thinking white hot chocolate for herself. Maybe with one of their pink macaroons they had kicking around. Oh, she had a rather severe sweet tooth right now! Her brother had always said it was because she was so sweet herself, but Abel always just blushed and denied it. "I'll pay, I'll pay! To friendship!" she cheered merrily, twisting around again only this time to face the counter, resting both hands non-invasively and politely on the counter. "It's me again!" Abel beamed. "I'd like to order some more deliciousness from you, please and thank you!"
