FlightTaught by Amihan for Academy students of all ages. Rules Please only post when the title states a class is open.
You may enter only two Nightmares per stage at a time!
Look below to see which activity is available for your character, and pick the appropriate activity for your Nightmare's stage.
Do not claim growth points for your Nightmare until the class is over and Huni Pi has quoted you stating you have passed.
Should you do the assignment incorrectly then you will be quoted stating that you did not pass the class.
When your character turns in their homework assignment you should write a small in-character RP response of them handing the homework to the teacher. Any length will do.

Back to BasicsAmihan greets the class and brings out an old-school boombox. "Everyone stand up and give yourself and your classmates spaaace~" She opens her wings but stays on the ground. "Make sure you got enough, um, space so's your wings and or tail... And arms don't hit anyone!"She presses a button and cheerful music begins to play. Nightmare: Malachi
Response: Malachi had shuffled into the gymnasium for Flight class, not entirely thrilled to be in gym clothes again. He didn't want to be in swim class, and glad to not deal with swim trunks. All the same, Hailey insisted he take a physical class of some sorts so they both got some form of exercise. Not something he wanted to do, but okay. He wasn't sure what to expect in this class, except for the obvious. Getting better at flying. It wasn't until he saw a familiar object of previous childhood torment in the teacher's hold did he ponder running out of there! But then he'd get grief from Hailey about not being able to fly better. Ugh! This was going to be a lose-lose for him. At least he was still going to learn something -- there had to be some form of silver lining there. With a wince and a nervous look on his face, he warily took to the air. Oh boy. He didn't fly very often so he could walk with Hailey most of the time and he could already feel the strain. Maybe he should try to get more fly time in... This was going to be messy.
As the game started, Malachi was filled with dread. One ball was coming straight at him and he just barely managed to get out of the way! He had turned about just in time to notice more coming right for him. After managing to dodge about four balls, he was actually beginning to feel slightly on the invincible side of things. Like he actually might be able to do this! The fifth ball came rushing his way. Then the sixth and seventh! WOW! He was actually managing to defeat part of his childhood P.E. trauma! But just when he thought he was getting the best of this game, and maybe feeling a bit of a burst of energy, when he turned to look the other way a ball straight up nailed him in the gut! The shot just about knocked the air out of him, and him out of the air. Luckily he managed to bring the crash landing under control, flopping on one of the mats that had been laid out. Yeah... maybe he would just stay here where it was safe. SPRONK! The surprising sound opened his eyes just in time to see a ball bounce off the mat right in front of his face! Well... that near hit changed his mind on staying put in a heart beat, and he quickly made his way over to the wall with the other students that got hit and were out of the game.

 Username: Reoakee Nightmare: Eveilyn Partner: Available (Available means the next player to post with a Senior can opt to quote you as if your students got partnered up. The person doing the quoting should not roll. This is all optional and just an opportunity for RP connections.) Response: Eveilyn was used to flying alone the idea of having to fly with a partner for dancing was a bit daunting. She had never even danced with anyone on the ground so she was sure this was going to be a disaster of epic proportions. Well the sooner she got going the sooner she and whoever was doomed to dance with her could take that trip to the nurses office. Eveilyn wished she’d skipped class today and hidden in her room drawing or writing. Playing sick! That could have been an option to. Anything but the embarrassment and horror that was about to unravel. Timidly reaching out a hand to her partner she wasn't surprised what happened next.

Username: Huni Pi Nightmare: Verve Partner: Eveilyn Response:  Verve grinned from ear to ear. She loved flying and she loved dancing. So what could be better than to combine both? Unfortunately for the chimera, she ended up with a partner who wasn't very accustomed to flying with someone. And it showed in their less-than-coordinated attempt at dancing. But Verve, ever the party animal, didn't seem to mind. "No worries, Evei," she said cheerfully, even as they wobbled in the air. "At least we aren't stepping on each other's feet."xReoakee If you wanna have a PRP between our Nightmares after class or something, I'm game biggrin

Username: Huni Pi Nightmare: Charmstar Response:The fallen was nervous enough about class as it is. He wasn't entirely confident in his flying skills despite the bravado he showed in class. It was a small mercy that there was a familiar face present. And maybe it was because he knew someone in class that gave him the much needed determination to do well. In fact, he did super well, dodging a good twenty times before wing-fatigue took hold of him and he was finally sidelined. Panting, he plopped down unceremoniously beside Malachi, grinning at him, "Good effort, Khai. Hailey might've enjoyed playing this game if she could fly."

Username: Huni Pi Nightmare: Mytrax Partner: Available Response: The chimera kept a cool, calm, collected expression as she walked up to the crash-mats and waited for her partner. But despite her expression, Mytrax was undergoing a series of internal screaming at the prospect of dancing. In public. Her discomfort and distaste for the activity was never vocalized, it could go undetected as she offered her hand to her partner and said "I'm not very good at dancing. You're going to have to take the lead."

Still in shock over the experience he just had, Malachi was semi-startled by his friend plopping down next to him. With a bit of a laugh, he let his head flop to the side, smirking in amusement from Charm's remark. "Hailey would be... dominating the gym if she could fly like us." Finally he was able to catch his breath, looking out at the others still in the game. "You were amazing out there, Charm. Wish I was as good as you. I think it's pretty safe to say that physical stuff like this is very much not my forte." He bent his legs, pulling his knees in close as he leaned forward against them. "Whatcha think about maybe practicing some together? I could use some help... obviously."

Username: Delicate Rose Bud Nightmare: Rose Partner: NPC  Response:Even though she was a Fey, which were known to be exceptionally great dancers, Rose had a hard time concentrating and had a giggle fit mid-air as she watched her partner go at it. To make them feel a bit better, she danced crazily with them, having a surprisingly good time. If she was back Above, she would have danced her heart out, flittering with the rest of her race in a parade of colors, but it felt great to just let loose.

Response: Amory hadn't thought much about Ellis's lack of wings prior to setting foot in flight class, but now that she was here, she could not have been more grateful that he didn't possess any. The chimera had always been an unwieldy flier, and when she couldn't do something right, the girl had a habit of avoiding it altogether. Needless to say, she hadn't gotten any more proficient. Even though the imp was probably the most mild-mannered nightmare she had ever met, Amory was certain that her performance today would have driven even him to derisive laughter.
When the teacher asked for a show of hands for those who could already fly, she remained motionless. Better to be seen as a complete newcomer than someone who had failed before. She lifted the pail of trinkets when it was her turn, flapping as hard as she could while still holding steady. Amory didn't make it very far off of the ground, but when she landed again without incident, she couldn't help the feeling of accomplishment that rose in her chest. Maybe she wasn't so bad at flying after all.

"That was all so wonderful, everyone!" Amihan clapped her hands happily. "I can't wait to see you take to the skies~ Just be suuuure to be careful and always watch where you're..." she trailed off for a moment then remembered "Going! Yes, going~ or coming~ no, going, yes that's the right word ahahaha~"Huni Pi Verve, Charmstar, and Mytrax all passed~

Username: jinxgirl5 Nightmare/Daydream: Jaden Response: Jaden was super nervous. It seemed like the class was moving awfully fast! He wasn't even that confident in his ability to stay in the air that long, though he did try to practice flapping his wings whenever he could to make them stronger. It was only because Ms. Amihan was in the air that he even gave it a shot at all. He unfurled his large, dark wings, paused in nervous tension, then gave a huge leap upward, flapping furiously. He managed to make it to the bucket and snatched a trinket as quickly as he could, not even bothering to look at what it was. All he was concerned about was getting the the safety of the ground! He hadn't expected to be the best, so it didn't bother him in the slightest. He was just glad he hadn't done too badly, or failed to take off entirely!

 Username: Ember-babe Nightmare/Daydream: Castus Response:Oh hells yah, Castus was an Aerial Ace! This was his exact kinda obstacle course and precisely the reason why he attending this class on a regular basis. Flight class? ******** yah! He did really well on the obstacle course. as was expected. He held his own even against some of the weaker chimeras, which meant he was well above the stronger fallen fliers in his class. Castus couldn't help but to puff with pride.

Username: Broken_Illumination Nightmare/Daydream: Blythe Response:  Blythe had been dragging slightly as they were starting to get hungry. Having purchased a soda before coming to class, they were starting to get jittery again. Maybe that would be enough to keep them going until food time. Blythe took a seat, they legs shaking only slightly as they were actually taking notes this time. Wings were pretty interesting and Blythe had definitely noticed the different kinds of wings among the students. As their classmates each talked about different kinds of wings and their features, Blythe half-patiently waited for their turn, their excitement building as their turn became closer and closer. Until finally! Blythe struggled to keep themselves from jumping straight up from their chair, they managed to come to a calm stand. Though, Blythe's calm demeanor soon broke as they grinned wide and flexed their wings slightly, enough to show them. "I have fallen wings! They are feathered and pick up wind easily when I flap them. That's because of airflow on the wing. Fallen and Chimera wings are shaped so that the air provides an upward force on the wings, and the movement of air goes down!" Blythe was hopping again, their voice excited from the information they could share. "I like fallen wings because they are soft and sometimes I fall asleep on them." Blythe nodded with a smile then sat back down. They were now shuffling their feet excitedly, all this talk of wings was fun and hoped they could do another assignment like this again.
