[Astraea] Every now and again Astraea liked to gather things, herbs, berries and from time to time moss. Moss was always a good thing to have because it was great for wounds and insulation. Though that was mainly for baskets and since she couldn't weave it was mainly for wounds. Unless she was fortunate to know someone who had the means to make a basket. She knew a few humans were skilled in the craft as well as the occasional animal companion. It was hit or miss. Fortunately for Astraea, she had a basket today. She had asked Amadahy to acquire one for her from the humans the flutter had gotten to know and she had done just that. Amadahy wasn't one for wandering or exploring a whole lot so Astraea was out and about by herself today and actually wasn't too far from the Vanaras herd. However, she didn't know that. The basket she carried harbored some lavender, berries, spearmint and some moss. She always liked to have it handy because it was very useful stuff. It was good for fires as well. She wasn't entire sure how she knew a lot of the things that she did, but she was most certain it would eventually make sense to her eventually. She moved slowly through the lightly wooded area she had found herself in and her ears twitched and flattened against her skull as she thought she heard the sound of a twig snapping. She froze, much like a deer would, and her pale eyes searched for the maker of the sound. Seeing no one she carefully set her basket down and cleared her throat. "Hello? Is someone out there?" Her voice was soft, but it carried despite that. She stayed where she was, awaiting patiently for whomever it was to announce themselves. At least she hoped that's what they would do. [Lynnea] Carefully, carefully Lynnea had been watching the mare she had happened upon in her gathering, her own basket left behind so that she could more easily follow the mare. She fully expected a quarter of her harvest to be gone by the time she got back; the birds and squirrels she had become accustomed to attracting very rarely left her basket alone when it was by itself, and they'd come to learn that she wouldn't shoo them off. After all, they had to eat, too. As she followed the mare through the woods, Lynnea studied her. She thought the mare bore Angeni wings and fetlocks, but the ears and antlers upon her head were Cerynei - that much she was certain of. She had only to look in her own reflection to see a mirror image. But, as she walked, a cracking sound echoed through the forest. Lynnea looked down at her feet, and saw nothing. At least, that was, until she realized a small branch stuck out from underneath the moss she stood upon. Groaning inwardly, Lynnea glanced up to see the mare on high alert. Time to come clean. "Hello!" she called. "It's all right, I'm coming out, and I don't mean you any harm." Skirting the stand of trees she had kept between them as she'd been slinking through the woods, Lynnea smiled at the snowy mare. "I'm Lynnea." [Astraea] She watched as the moss colored mare with magenta accents came into view and made herself known to her. She was actually quite glad that it was a female and she seemed extremely friendly. She noticed the little horns atop her head instantly and already wanted to get to know the mare more. She was the first female Cerynei she had met. The male that had been known to her as Shak was the first and only male she had met. She had yet to meet an Angeni or another that was mixed like herself. The only reason she even knew that was because of Amadahy. She had been kind enough to inform her of what she was. Since she couldn't remember. "I'm extremely glad that you don't." She said with a warm smile as she continued to study the female. "Forgive me for staring. You're the first mare I've encountered with horns like mine." She said hoping she didn't find her actions offensive. "My name is Astraea. It's a pleasure to meet you Lynnea." She relaxed and looked down at her basket of treasures. She wondered if perhaps the mare was from around here. She figured that she would find out soon enough. She was curious to how the mare would respond to her inquiry about her horns. xo maho Didn't know if you wanted to try and finish this in Guild or continue in Aim. <3 Thought I'd get a thread going in guild for when it is finished.
