He stumbled back out the red door, mind shaken as he fell to lay on his back. He stared up at the vine crawling ceiling...tears long since dried though he felt them all the same. That last one made him realize exactly what happened...They died. They all died. There was never going to be a rescue...it was always going to be either a massacure or genocide, depending on how you looked at it. He inhaled shakily hearing a hiss the youth let his head fall to the side where a eriely glowing snake was coiled. It was made of vines at this point, but Corven knew it...
"Malice...I knew it. Back in the fog...I knew it..." he mumbled as he reached over to run a finger along the sleek vines. Corven smiled softly. This was either a very real delusion...or this hive plant was smarter than it looked. Rising to sit up, he kept his smile as the vine snake coiled around his hand like Malice always did. Standing Corven let himself fall into his insanity...he figured he was either already insane or nearly there at this point. So..he started walking...
He decided to go down a long hallway. Mind drifting as he did so...
His Family would be with him at the end...
Dude, no...turn back!!
...Everyone in the Apartments will be there too...
I'm serious, turn around!!!
...he should find others to join them...
No don't!! You were once apart of something other than this!!!
...he was always apart of Creation...
SHUT UP!!! YOU DON'T---[/i]
---realize that he was always suppose to be here.
Corven blinked as he felt something getting torn out of him...oh. Well that was that...he felt weightless. Ah...where did Malice go? Wait...who was Malice? It didn't matter he thought as he hovered there. Then...with crushing force he recalled everything. As if something inside him clawed back for one last shot. Oh god...he choked on his breath. Wait...no...he wasn't...panicking for a moment...much like he knew his brother would. He looked around at the vines...perhaps?
He reached out for one and it reacted. He smirked...perfect. Then gathered enough strength to reform himself. His mohawk was a fluttering collection of leaves. That was cool, he could deal. He looked down and smiled at the sight of a much larger vine snake around his shoulders. Oh yeah, Malice full grown...He glanced around again. Okay...now where was his body? He had to get that back, maybe he could use these vines to return. He had a brother to find and a gramma to beat the crap out of in Halo...
Corven wasn't going to be ashamed about that last thought. Gran was the type to handle herself...as he walked...with a lot of falls. He saw a shoulder in the vines. Was that his? He waved the vines away to blink...no. It was that..snake thing he saw...oh. He blinked. This guy saved him...he picked up the taller male. Finding it easy in his current form and started to shakily make his way. Crap.
That hive plant noticed...he realized this as his own vines started to ebb away. As if they were being recalled. Panting he made it to what he hoped was the exit...hearing someone call out names. He rose to place the other being on the ground. By that point all he was was his version of Malice...the vine snake slithering back as Corven picked up other parts of himself. As he reentered the place where he started the youth was resigned to his fate. Well...at least he was still himself...
Right?
