Marcy was still in awe of the human. It was kind of warm (she had touched it), and it's (Marcy still suspected it was female, but she didn't want to offend) breathing was quite rhythmic. The kind of thing that could almost be soothing... if it was a little more frightening. But, of course, humans were not inherently frightening like creeple in Halloween. Poor things. Marcy did of course they couldn't be frightening, not in the same way that those of Halloween were. That would be silly. Though...she had to admit that the human before her was a little strange...in an unsettling way.

Marcy clenched her fists and nodded to herself. "It's up to me to save you," she told the human.

Gathering what strength she could, Marcy bent down to pick the human up. She first tried to carry it in a romantic style, one arm under the knees and one behind the back. Sadly she couldn't even lift the human like that. The human was taller than she was. Taller and heavier.

Maybe if she lifted it over her shoulder? Marcy tried to do that, placing the human in a sitting position first, and bending over trying to leverage it into place. "Oh! Oh no!" The weight of the human nearly crushed her.

In the end, Marcy hugged the human from behind, her arms circling it's chest under the arms and under the... Yes it as female. Female humans had fancier chests, right?

The poor human's feet dragged on the ground...and Marcy had to go backwards the whole way, but she made some progress. She only dropped the human four or five times, and a number of other times she gently put it down while she rested. It was very odd, being so weak. She had of course tried to use her telekinesis to move the human, but it was far too big for that. So it was dragging and stumbling and slow moving the whole way to the portal.

Humans were heavy.

But she made it to the portal in the end. "See. All...safe....now," she said as she worked the human in through the portal. All done. She'd saved her first human! If she wasn't so tired she might have clapped her hands. Besides, she still had to make sure it was really safe, and all set to be released back into the human world. Marcy followed her human through the portal.

The little poltergeist found she and her human were NOT where they should have been. This place looked....well. Marcy had no idea. It reminded her of a road, a human road like she'd seen in a book, but a little bigger. And the buildings around them were huge...especially the one covered in vines. That was....strange. She hadn't heard of humans living in plant houses. Marcy shook her head and looked away. For some reason that direction hurt to look at.

She looked down at her human just as the shaking started. Everything was shaking. What could that be???

Marcy turned to see.... OH. Oh, goodness. WHAT WAS THAT? It was HUGE and unlike anything she'd ever seen. Wisps of the things began to peel off and reach for them.... "AHH!" Marcy screamed and doubled over in pain when it spoke to her.

We will consume you and your Fear will be ours.

Marcy found she was shaking on her own- It was going to EAT HER? Take her Fear? She needed that...it WAS her. She looked up at the beast...and saw the tendrils reaching again...and she felt their Fear. They were Fear...from Halloween. Others..that had been devoured. They screamed and she felt it. She felt their pain, their horror, and she felt the fact that they were not them anymore.

Marcy looked at her human. She couldn't leave it. Drawing on everything she had, Marcy hugged the human around the torso again. She poured her telekinesis into this, all of her strength, and she ran. She picked up the human and ran.

Marcy had gone pale, which mean mostly translucent, really. She only noticed when she looked down to see if her human was still okay. The poor thing. Marcy was determined to save it...and herself.

She didn't move very fast, which meant the thing was getting closer quickly. Marcy hardly noticed the vines growing, hardly noticed anything but the ground in front of her. She was paying far too much attention to the ground because it wasn't long until her human's head went THUNK, shortly followed by it's body and Marcy- Right into the side of a car.

Marcy knew it was a car, for Halloween had cars. Much nicer ones, of course, but similar. She might have wondered if some designer had left plans for cars in the human world- so that the humans could copy them...but she didn't have time to wonder about such things. The red-headed ghost looked over her shoulder. It was still there, still coming for her.

Marcy looked down at the car.

4. A really, really square car that reminds you of Monster Cars from Halloween, without the "Monster" in it. You like the space in it at least! (SPEED VALUE +4)

If only she had- KEYS. Right there on the seat in front of the driving wheel. Marcy's gaze went from the human slipping from her grasp, to the thing chasing them, then to the keys in the car. She'd never driven before. Never. But she'd never outrun that thing while she had her human.

How hard could driving be?

Marcy fumbled with the door handle, and then shoved her human inside. It was mostly sitting up, and hopefully comfortable. She slammed that door and tried not to stare at the thing that was gaining ground on them as she climbed into the driver's seat.

Ok. She'd seen this done in Halloween. The key went...... Oh. Here. A keyhole. Next.

Marcy turned the key, as she'd seen done, and felt a huge sigh of relief as the car made a very comforting roaring noise.

OKAY. WHAT WAS NEXT?

Marcy had a moment of panic as she thought about it. Oh. Oh. Right. Drivers do things with their feet. Her fee barely reached the pedals, but they did reach, and if she scooted forwards so she was almost on the edge of her seat... Ah yes. Okay she could reach them now.

The Thing chasing them was getting closer, everything was shaking.

Hands on the wheel, push the pedal.... NOTHING HAPPENED. "No! No!" Oh. There WAS a second pedal. Marcy gave that a try. The engine roared~ but the car didn't move. "What? What? What am I forgetting?"

The little ghost thought. Hands on the wheel, feet on the pedal...and drivers also used the stick next to them. OH. The one that said DRIVE might help. Marcy pushed the stick to it lined up with DRIVE....and tried the pedal again.

The car lurched forward, the movement scaring Marcy enough she lifted her foot off the pedal, causing the car to stop again. Her human fell forward with a thud.

The feeling of Fear behind them grew the thing was still gaining.

Marcy pushed down on the pedal again, and her human fell back.

Her hands were on the wheel, and if her knuckles could have been any paler they would have been. As it was, they were quite see through. Marcy found the car was moving to the right, and she jerked the wheel, sending the car the other way. Her foot seemed to pressing down of it's own accord, the car getting faster and faster.

She just wanted to be away from the thing. Far, far away.

Just as she jerked the car to the left again (it seemed to like the right side of things), she felt a NEW bit of Fear. The portal! It was a head of them. She KNEW it. Her hands gripped the wheel tighter, her foot pressed down even more, and even though the car went form side to side a fair bit- it went down the road. It went away from the thing and towards the portal.

In fact, if she had bothered to check the rear view mirrors, Marcy would have seen that she left the thing in the dust. But she didn't, since she didn't know what those mirrors were there for.

And then she saw their destination. The portal! Marcy could have cried with relief. They were nearly home, nearly safe. She wasn't going to get devoured, and her human would be safe.

She just had to stop the car now. Taking a guess, she slammed her foot on the other pedal. The car jerked and squealed, momentum sending her into the driving wheel and her human forward again. But it stopped. The car stopped.

Marcy hopped out, then ran to her human's door and pulled the human out. The car started to slowly roll, but Marcy paid it no mind.

They had a portal to get to.

She was back to hugging/dragging her human towards the portal. It was too bad she couldn't just drive the car through it, but Marcy didn't have time for lamentations. She needed to get them through. There was no sign of that thing, but Marcy was sure it would come back.

Nearly there. They were nearly there when Marcy felt her human move. It moved, and groaned. Marcy didn't mean to drop it, she'd meant to set it down, but the moving human slipped from her grasp. It slipped from her grasp and looked up.

Marcy smiled at it, a worried smile, but still she was trying to be friendly. "Are yo--"

The human started screamed. It screamed and kicked at her, then tried to back up, even as it tried to stand. It was headed in the wrong direction, and it was still screaming.

"No, not that way. It will get you!" Marcy stepped towards it, reaching out.

The human screamed again, and then flung a fist at her. The blow glanced over her shoulder, but Marcy was surprised. Why would it...oh. She WAS a ghost. It was entirely possible it was the human's first time seeing a ghost.

"No, no, I won't-" The human screamed and tried to run. "I won't hurt you!" Marcy chased after it, feeling her anger rise. She WAS HELPING IT. She was SAVING it. They had to get through the portal. They had to LEAVE. "Come back here!" She reached out and grabbed the human's clothing, tugging it back towards her.

The human whirled on her, fists pounding. Marcy raised an arm to fend off the blows. The human was taller and heavier- Marcy was worried it would overpower and run away. She couldn't let that happen. She just couldn't. She wouldn't. Not after all they had been through.

"No!" she screamed at it. Reaching up, she grabbed it by the shirt and pulled it down so she could look into it's eyes. "WE ARE LEAVING. I AM HELPING YOU." She put as much emotion into the words as she could.

Her human squeaked. Just like a little mouse.
And then it's eyes rolled, and it passed out.

"Oompf," Marcy had to catch the human. "Okay. We are leaving."

She started to drag the human back towards-- the feeling was gone. The portal was gone. There was no way out.

Marcy dropped her human again, in a bit of a panic. WHAT NOW?
